I think we should do something like what was done in week 15.You know where we only get a 125,000 credit limit to tune any car (except race cars)
I second that, albeit maybe with a different budget. And I'd also like for everyone's car to be kept secret.

That sounds attractive indeed.
Perhaps the budget should include the cost of the car at the car dealer. That way there's no need to exclude race cars, they would be too expensive anyway.

Just for the record... ;)

I am a big fan of a budget based race. 👍

There are some problems related to it, but I suppose that really shouldn't be considered... I mean, we already work on an honor system right?

I will think it through.

On that note though, if we were to do a race like that I would probably keep the cost of tires and oil out.

I might even include some sort of power to weight ratio restrictions as well as overall power restictions.

Yes, I know that excluding the cost of tires can throw things off, but I really wouldn't want to have a cold tire racer using twice as much power as everyone else just because they didn't have to sink 50k into super soft tires.

In an effort to further the possibility of this race occurring I suggest that as many people as possible spend a moment thinking this sort of race through and then posting their thoughts.

Thanks for the help and as usual, keep up the great suggestions. 👍

What problems does such a system induce, that the usual system doesn't ?
Without a replay there's no way to check for sure that the car complies to the rules, but there's no way now to check that a hot lap was really wall free.
With a replay provided you can know which parts are used and then calculate their total cost as we can check now if the lap was clean.

As for the tyres, perhaps there should be a restriction ?
Something like :
1) 200,000 Cr to buy and tune the car (oil change included).
That would ensure that the car comes from the car dealer and is no already broken in prize car
2) Tyres T6 to T8 only (no sports, sims, rally or T1 to T5)

Then we could race for one week, submit our best hot laps and re-race the same combo the week after so that everybody can choose a better car or better settings given the first week results.
We're about 18 drivers who submit weekly, and the available amount of cars is so big that it's enough for racing several weeks without having one single car pointed out as a real killer.

I'm all for a budget race, and I've been looking for one for a long time. I think the tires should be specified, not counted as withdrawls from the credit limit. Also, I think the car should be kept secret in the race thread, to make it more of a challenge.

A budget race is nice. When we limit the tyre choice, I don't think a lot of problems will occur.

I'm all for a budget race, too. But could we wait until after christmas? It's a busy time for a lot of people, so I'd say next week's race should be an arcade hot lap, not something that's going to take a lot of testing and what not. The week after christmas would be great for the budget race :D

Budget racing is all good, however we need a power to weight ratio and tires already selected. I would love to do it. But yeah in the new year as im gonna be away from 27th dec to 5 Jan or around then. :(

Just wanted to bring this thread back up so you all could put in some suggestions for next week. ;)

Car suggestions are what I would say you should concentrate. :D

Also, I wanted to post this somewhere and I suppose this is a good place.

But I have merged a bunch of threads together.
Actually, I merged all of the famine stats together.
Then I merged all of the lotus350 stats together.

No, those two will not be merged... The lotus stats will remain seperate from the famine stats. :sly:

Still, thought you all should know that, and I hope in the future that those two threads will be used as the base for any future stats (except for flat-out and his dynamic stats, which will remain as a seperate entity just like the others). :D

Oh, and on that note.
If either of you (lotus or famine) would like to rename your individual threads, please feel free...

If you post the name in this forum I could make a copy of the thread before you attempt to change the name (just incase something goes wrong).
Then if everything is successful I will delete the copied version of the thread.

Any way,
Thought you all should know about what I did.
I hope it doesn't insult any of you... I just wanted to let you all know.

Now please don't be shy about suggestions for week 96's car selection. :D

...
Until next time,
- :D

Fully modded Tommy Kaira ZZS (the small one) @ Trial Mountain II or Deep Forest. :)

Well since you said that every car would fit your chosen track. I'll recycle an old post of mine. :D

The Toyota Celica GT-FOUR is a kind of overlooked car, maybe that would work at this week's track? Tommy Kaira ZZ-S would be neat too maybe, don't think I ever really drove that one.

What about that Mercedes that modified for racing I think it was called the D2 amg or something like that.Or a Spoon Cvic Type R with sim's would be a nice change

Peugeot 206 S16.
(It's about the only chance this car has to be chosen in the WRS)

I like the idea, but there should be a limited car choice.

Such as...... RX7-RZ, Supra RZ, Skyline V-Spec II, and a top EVO. Not those exact cars, but 4 or 5 cars close in performance aspects.

This is kinda coming out of nowhere, but I would like to see something really tricky. Something like this:
Car: Cobra, stock with oil change, on sim tires. No TCS or ASM.
Track: Laguna Seca or Seattle. Hotlap.

Just had to remind you. ;)

Also, I'm considering all of the suggestions and even though it hasn't been mentioned yet, I think you will all like what I have in store for 96.

Another thing...
Week 100... I've got a plan I am sure you will all be happy with.

As for week 104 (the 2 year mark!)
No plans yet, but a celebration race will surely be the ticket.

Thanks again for the suggestions.

I will have week 96 posted soon.
Till then,

nice chooce for week 96, however when will week 95's results be up?

If you ever want to pick 2 similiar cars that are also regular adversaries in real life, the Subura 22B and the Mitsubishi Evo 6 RS run almost the exact same times on Midfield fully modified. Should be closely matched anywhere else also. My fastest times in both cars were .023 apart.

We already did this around week 14 or so noob!;)

It was a pretty fun race too bad you missed it.:)

Just because it was done many weeks ago is no reason not to do it again! Everyone loves a good Evo vs. STi battle!

{Tuff240 bends over and moons the old geezer!}

At least I suggested slightly different cars (didn't bother looking in the stats before I posted it). I was actually testing all of the Evo's and WRX's. I was quite surprised to find out the 6 RS was fastest. I just assumed a newer evolution would be faster. :embarrassed:

Is that so we only end up hitting a top speed of 104mph?

Well, actually. :D
The 6 RS usually is faster. 👍
It weighs a whole bunch less than the others.

However, some times I think the newest GSR is faster because I think it can get more power. Not sure about that though. :D

Well...

Expect results for week 95 shortly.

hmmm... it do feel faster but you can come up with faster times on RS 6 :)

I readed the last pages last night and got an idea 💡

Looking at the budget races, there would be alot people who would like to see them so, i started thinking this: how about not to drive an budget race? instead take an series of them, a budget month!
flat-out
Then we could race for one week, submit our best hot laps and re-race the same combo the week after so that everybody can choose a better car or better settings given the first week results.
i got the ideo from this for the multiple races. thinking it, it could be cool :)
we could do it like this:
4 weeks of races, 4 different tracks.
yes 4 different tracks would be an nice thing with the right combo. and also it would be good lets us say... for an example: (just throwing the car and the track, and im not looking to anyone as it is an example only :))
let us say that mr2 would be the fastest one on deep forest, couple people let us, say from division 1 drive it with the mr2 on the 1 week and other drivers drivve it with some other cars.
when the week 1 is over, the guys who drove the mr2 on the week 1 couldnt drive it on week 2 but every one else would drive it with mr2 since they noticed that its the fastest one to drive at deep forest. that would leave the guys from week 1 using the mr2 there to an "bad" position agaist the other division 1 driver and perhaps on division 2 drivers as well. but with 4 different tracks, you couldnt copy the best car from others becouse the considered car might not be the fastest oneat the next race.

also, i was thinking some other things but im little bit in a hurry now.. so sorry if theres any mistakes on my english.. im not very good at it :/
anyho, tell me what you think :) ill add more when i get back home :)

From the holidays thread...

Azuremen
All right.. I was a little worried :scared: considering how much faster those guys are...

But no more confusion!! I have MaxDrive now... and a strong desire to avoid typos :dopey:

And this week is gonna be hella fun... I've been playing with MR cars all week.. seeing what I can use in the Pro MR cup... can almost beat the GT40 with an almostly fully tuned MR-S in the qualification.. and I can do with a stage 2 Turbo MR2 GT-S... so this should be fun.

Dude, you should have come here and posted this before the new week.

I actually wanted to use the MR2 GT-S at almost exactly 3.0pwr.
However, since I didn't know if it would go over well, and since so many have requested the vauxhall/opel in the past I knew it would be a good week to get that out of the way.

So yeah, don't be shy about suggestions. :D

I likey the idea. Certainly teach some good throttle control there...

Anything we could use the MR-S NA with? Turbo is ok I guess too... but its an amazing car NA... teaches good cornering and stuffs.

Wet race.. certainly provides a challange. How about Trial Mountain maybe if wet wouldn't be too popular?

But the MR2... GT-S, G-Limited, or Spyder... are all awesome cars. MR2 GT-S the most fun to drive though outta the bunch

When GT4 comes out, I know in 2-Player mode you can put a time limit on. If it's in free run, will you hold competitions to see how far you can get on Nurburgring or Le Sarthe in 2 or so mins? I think these would be quite fun to do.

Just wondering,

Do any of you remember how I usually run things when it comes time to get those last minutes suggestions for next week?

If my memory is correct, I recall the SOP being a quick browse through this thread and then serious consideration for any of the post there-in.

:sly:

Just something to think about in these last few hours before the deadline and posting of week 98's race. ;)
