... oh... and how about "Choose one of the three: Astra, Calibra, CLK" ?? :)

CLK is the better drive of the 3 imo nice and responsive đź‘Ť The Calibra is a big heavy lump of crap that moves like a slab of concrete and the Astra is one slippy assed ***** :D

But the Astra is ok on occasion ..

.... CLK sounds cool :)

I'm all for another race at Grand Valley, it's my favourite track in all of GT (1, 2, and 3)

đź‘Ť I'm for Grand Valley too. I think it's a great track racing with fast cars. đź‘Ť

We haven't raced GV Reverse since week 45. :)

I got an idea :dopey:

The car:Any FF-car(under 400BHP)

The track:up the Kents

Isn't that a good idea altough I hate FF-cars

You won't see your dreams come true Pink : we had an any-FF week at SS Route 11 back in week 67, I doubt it'll come back that soon.

Besides that... any FF car under 400 Hp means the Xsara is the obvious choice (with 375 Hp and it is a race bodied car) with nothing else being able to match its performance without significantly more power (ie Honda Integra Type R with 498 Hp)

Fully modded Tommy Kaira ZZS (the small one) @ Trial Mountain II or Deep Forest. :)

^

Indeed, but rather on Trial Mountain. (Despite the fact that I know I'll regret what I just wrote if the combo is chosen)

What about a "Vintage" week ?
Something like re-running the race of the same week last year (that is 52 weeks ago).
For instance for week 85, we would re-race week 33 and that would be :

boombexus
The Car Panoz Esperante GTR-1, Equip NA Stage 1 Your choice of tires.
The Track: Rome II (REVERSE)

anyone would then compare his time with the 1'12.152 lap Oliver DePlace submitted at that time.

"Vintage week" sounds good. Something like only Cobras GT40's e.t.c

Actually I didn't mean specifically vintage cars but vintage races. Running the same good ol' races as in the past to compare our times.
Well, so to speak, because I'm in the WRS since week 65 only, so I haven't raced them...

I'd rather race the kind of "Vintage week" you mention when GT4 is released, with lots of cars from the '60s through '80s. (Alpine A310... Renault 5 turbo :embarrassed: )

I'd like to run an actual race one of these weeks, say 6 laps or something.
I agree, a 3 or 5 lap race would be great! đź‘Ť
Preferably in something easy to drive and with decent AI competition. ;)

I've gotcha. đź‘Ť

Will take care of it in a good way. :D

I am always hesitant though with this sort of race (multilappers).

Contact is always an issue and it is never easy to work out a system that can cover all ranges of drivers.

None the less, I can say with certainty that there will be a multilap race soon. ;)
Until then, maybe you all would like to discuss car choices... or better yet, ai choices. :mischievous:

A nice replay to watch is always cool. đź‘Ť

Thanks for the great suggestions.
Keep them coming.

Till next time,

I'll have a look see tonight. I'm thinking something where it's possible to pass most of the AI for D1, possible for D2 to keep up with or pass a couple AI and possible for D3 to keep up with the AI. Might close up the entire field like that. The more traffic you encounter, the slower you will have to go.

I suggest 100% clean and only a 3-5 lapper. This will cancel any arguments over contact and "offs". If you can't do 3-5 laps clean, you just have to go slower until you can. I think this will bring out different qualities in the regular WRS drivers. Some that can turn in a good hot lap, aren't so good over 3-5 laps (me :embarrassed: ).

Also a fun Arcade car or maybe a SIM car with no setting adjustments available (no mods to trans/diff/susp). T8's would be nice so we have plenty of grip to try to pass the AI off the regular driving line.

đź’ˇ If you want to spice it up even more, you could add a little more hp for D2, and even a little more for D3. That would be awesome having every division with a chance to win the overall. Can you imagine how stoked a D3 guy would be to take the overall win for the week. đź‘Ť

Easy track that most people like. Midfield forward comes to mind. :mischievous:

I'm getting all excited just thinking about it. :dopey:

.... runs off to PS2 to do some checking.....

(was just brainstorming here, some things may contradict others)

You'll never get 100% clean, you can have the racing line.... car be 5 car lengths behind you, you take the correct line with proper braking point and WHAM. AI runs into you.

Wrong. :D
I will not run down on you about it though.

In fact, being that you're one of the few loyalist in division 3, I think you and I could really work this problem out.
( I will be honored if I can help :sly: )

The first and most important thing to me is the race combo.

If the race combo is right it will be easy to run a multi-lap race perfectly clean.

Just be patient and we will all have plenty of time to discuss how multi-lappers should be run. ;)

I've gotta run for now, but in the next post from any of you I would really like to see suggestions regarding car selection.

Thanks. :D

Since AI would bring an extra difficulty, I think we should keep the rest simple. I mean :
- an easy flowing track (Midfield, as Tuff suggested, or Trial Mountain)
- an arcade or stock car so that we can keep concentrated on how to pass AI, not on the car choice or settings
- a light and low power car so that avoiding contact is easier.

Since you ask for names, I would propose :
Lotus Elise | Opel Speedster | Toyota MR | Mazda MX-5 | Audi TT | Mercedes SLK

Another idea to limit contact possibilities is to run on dirt/wet where AI drivers are fewer.

SSR5 wet, sim tires, escudo. :-D

I think we should baybe do a Mazda 787B on Mzda Laguna Seca raceway (won't happen for a while, since that track is on tap for this week.)

...in the next post from any of you I would really like to see suggestions regarding car selection.
I tried some 5-lap races (Arcade, Hard) on Midfield with different cars :

C-class
Mercedes SLK (arcade) : too fast
Toyota MR-2 (arcade) : too fast
MX-5 (13x hp, arcade) : nice race, the AI Altezza or SLK makes it rather challenging
MX-5 1.8i (garage, 150 hp) : a little bit easier to win than with the arcade car.

B-class
Opel Speedster (arcade) : too fast

A-class
Ruf 3400S : too fast
Any 276hp car : seems also fine, though I only tried with 2 or 3 of these cars.

I didn't try any S-class car, driving fast makes contact much more difficult to avoid.

Edit :
No reply, it seems people want a multi-lapper but don't care about which car and track

I tried a 5 lap race (S-class Arcade Hard) in the Spoon S2000 Race Car on Midfield and that is challenging. AI are mainly rally cars or the Autobacs, and this one was tough to catch up and pass cleanly.
So tough that I actually couldn't .
I was in first position during lap 4, got passed at the end of the main straight, then I caught up and passed the Autobacs at the tunnel braking after T1 but it was much faster than me and finished first, 0.077 in front of me.

Nissan Silvia Spec-R Aero w/ Sim tires on Deep Forest II. đź‘Ť

Sounds good execpt for the sim tires. We did the just a few weeks ago and it won't be happening soon agian.

The NSX Pulp fiction combo was brilliant.More movie or other ideas from the motoring world would be great too.

Good Idea with the tommy Kaira ZZII (the small one).I suggest Monaco fast lap and/or enduro with full NA tune and setup, no asm or trc allowed. Could be fun, like vintage f1 cars.

Suggestion #2, Polyphony 002 at Seca

#3, Smokie Mountain reverse with RUF RGT-any tuning(Jumps like a front engined car) To types of roadcover that is.Total time 5 laps or fast lap. đź’ˇ

After 3 weeks in the city, I really need to get some fresh air and get away from all the walls.

I'll suggest we go to Grand Valley Reverse. Not much to say, it's just a great track. đź‘Ť The WRS last visited in week 45 and has only been here twice (thanks Famine).

If you're planning a surprise rally at Swiss Alps Reverse, please disregard the above suggestion, Kent. :D

Been a while since we've been to Midfield forwards. ;) Better pick a fast and fun car though or I'll be pissed. Last time I got to run on my favorite track was at an i-link a week ago in the arcade Speed 12. :yuck:

I could also go for any fully tuned rally hot lap. Stock rally just isn't fun to me, but trying to harness a fully modified beast on a rally track is right up my alley. BC4 is running the Clio street car at Smokey Mountain, so we might want to steer clear of that car, but I'm game for any car that usually tops the times databases.

With all the BC4 racing going on, I'm in the mood for hot laps, no multi lappers this month please, I just don't have the time. :scared:

I'm running in bc4 right now and it's rediculus... Makes me wish I could just run races of my choice each week. :sly:
Also makes me realize just how good the wrs really is.

All of the above suggestions will be taken into regard when I go to setup the next race, and as tuff240 mentioned, I will be avoiding combos that might come close to anything in bc4.

Thanks for the suggestions, I appreciate them all greatly and I promise that all of you will have influence on my final decision. :D

Thanks again,

I couldn't agree more. đź‘Ť
I signed up for the torture known as TORC 13 and then signed up for the BC4. I should have my head examined. :dunce:

I've already spent as much time on one BC4 race as I have with 4 weeks worth of WRS and I'm still nowhere near done with it. :ouch:
I also now have a testing hot-lap that I know I won't be able to match in a race and that is going to drive me crazy each time I re-start the race.

Glad you feel that way Tuff.
I'm also happy to hear that you enjoyed some of those races from the past couple of weeks even though you thought they would be bad when you first saw them.

I hope to get something fun planned for next week but at the moment I am a bit busy with bc4.

There is also a race I have been planning on using as a weekly, but with bc4 being in session I see it as a crime to give such a sweet race at a time when so many of us can't run in it.

Well let me know what you guys have to say if anyone drops in before I post up next week's race.
I appreciate everything you guys have to say.
Talk to you all later tonight,
