Well hey! Practice what you preach brother! :D

Hehe ... by "specifically choose," I was meaning to say "specifically choose in the race regs" ... so I guess I should type what I mean next time ;) If it's in the regs, then we can all use a car that isn't best-in-class, without being relegated to the back of the pack. It can be fun to use a car even if it's not competitive, but I miss the fun of being in the hunt, sweating T times, etc :)

Another, unrelated thought:

How about running two hot laps of a particular track (say apricot hill), one forward, one reverse and adding the two times together. (Unless we did that and I missed it ...)

That has never been run as far as I know, but proposed many times. (I even suggested this to Kents in the same PM in which I submitted my registration time).
I support you on this one 👍 👍 👍

I hear you guys on the reverse & forward combo, as well as a doughnut-2- lapper (Mr P suggested months ago via IM).

Right now, the situation plays out like this...
If you look at the list of tracks over the last few weeks and just say to yourself, technical or flowing... The tracks play out as technical.

However, look at this week.
Over all midfield is more of a long straight track than a tight technical one.

So my guess for next week.
A long flowing track.
No test course, I refuse to do that (sorry "racerX" who made that request a ways back).

But a long flowing race.
Maybe more than 1 lap.

Seems like the atmosphere in this thread at the moment is for more than 1!

All right, well I'm gonna look over my list of the history and see what tracks could fit into the pattern of random selection.

You all may see me pop back in with hints or something if I find a good race, but otherwise just keep an eye out for results propmtly following the deadline.

I think just to carry the weekly on. Its been said before but its amazing that its carried on for so long. I have had a few periods of absence from the weekly but I want to make a go of it and get a few more reaces behind me.

Good work Kent for keeping it going 👍

How about a Skyline race?

All models but limited to 500hp on a particular track.

Or any types of cars that have 2 gen or more. With a Hp regulation and a X track.

We know, but we keep on lobbying.

So my guess for next week... a long flowing race. Maybe more than 1 lap.
More than one lap so probably not Grand Valley Speedway which is a long track, so my guess will go to Smokey Mountain. With a p/w ratio limited rally car ? 💡

NOOOO !!! I thought of GV and a 5 lapper there would rule. You'd have to be perfect for a good 5 minutes which is a lot lot harder than being perfect for just 1 minute !!

I don't have any car that can lap GV in about 1 minute (and I have all 200 cars). Or maybe I'm too slow... I must admit though that a 3-lap race on GV in a JGTC car would let us expect a nice and interesting week.

I'm never perfect so it wouldn't matter to me.........lol.

Of course I am.... in my Mini Cooper. But that doesn't make anything close to 1 minute on GVS.

Flat-out in a mini !! lots of fun but not a dramaticly quick lap time !!

1 sough American F094/S (F1, Williams, Senna, 1994) 01.15.677
2 big p Spanish/German Polyphony 001 01.16.504 19
3 3rdgenracerX American F094/S (F1, Williams, Senna, 1994) 01.16.884 18

Top 3 times at www.RacingLine.org.

A multilapper in the 001 at GV would be very interesting !!

The best lap in a Mini on db.granturismo.de is 2'41.942, and Sphinx, member of the Team Mini, improved recently this record with a 2'41.434.
Nowhere close to 1 minute :)
My personal best is still in the 2'44. Perhaps I should give a try to the Polyphony 💡
Anyway BigJames, I was faster than you in the 787B this week :sly:

flat-out

It has been war for centuries between the english and the french, so let's go on with these good old traditions.
I'll start with Race 1 tonight. See you in the Race 1 and 2 thread.

I want some revenge for my poor showing at Midfield 2 :yuck:

My suggestion! .... Arcade 787B @ Midfield 1 👍

I would like to request a race/lap in the Speed 12. Either arcade or Stock (only mod allowed should be tyres.) Any track, although I would like it to start with Tokyo and end with II :D

A long flowing track.

I guess this is gonna be for week 81 then... SS Route 11 is not flowing enough in my opinion.

I second that.

Trial Mountain is too small for the mighty Speed 12, it needs a long, straight, fast track so those 800 horses can be properly unleashed.

I find the opposite straight in the tunnel long enough and the chicane in the main straight brings lots of fun.
Trial Mountain was my favourite track to drive the Speed12 on. We should ask a specialist and light the bat-signal to call Famine.

Speed 12 + Trial Mountain II = Better than a bag of wombat wee.

9 minutes only, wow
The Famine bat-signal really works !

:odd: Though I'm not certain whether the answer means yes or no.
