However, you should never stop suggesting races. Keep in mind, what is just a suggestion now may be a race a month from now. ;)

First off, love the c-string race this week, thanks.

How about a two-track week in which the hot lap times from 2 separate tracks are added together for a cumulative time. The challenge in this is to change your set up for two tracks and turn in competitive times with the same car. OR, two different cars on the same track in which both times are added together.

Despite forcing math on our entrants, it might work, eh?

That sounds like fun!

I'll second that motion. 👍

I thought I had proposed something like that weeks ago : running on the chosen track and its reverse and add up both times to make the ranking.

I'm thinking a low powered FR or MR is in order for next week after the cobra and the CXS race with the 1000hp altezza.

How about Integra Type R vs TRD Celica, I don't know if it has been done before.

Or a three way matchup - Spoon Civic vs Integra Type R vs TRD Celica. 👍

It's funny, people are still trying to get over the cobra, what have I done?

Yeah I think you should probably get sued for that, you've caused quite a bit of mental anguish.

I never! Well, OK, I did, but that's not the point!

I would say to get some kind of JGTC thing going. Say, like, JGTC and ALMS cars for a couple weeks, and say that you have to run the same car each week. Choose different tracks and stuff and then let the good times roll. :)

Seriously guys, I need suggestions.

Haven't thought about next week 1 little bit since I picked up a race organized by UB57.

Please drop your suggestions here and let me know what you guys want for week 78.

Darin,
👍
ALMS & JGTC will surely be on my mind for the next few weeks.
Doesn't hurt that I got to catch some ALMS today! :D

ZZ-S vs Elise 190 Fully modded at Complex String or Apricot.

Or

ZZ-S vs Motorsport Elise fully modded at Complex String or Apricot.

Well, Kent. There's always the wet race we suggest week after week with no result at all. ;)

Otherwise I would like to race a fast car on a fast open track, like Grand Valley II. We haven't been there since week 45 and it's really a great track with both fast and technical sections. :D

Taking from a few others ideas, how about a JGTC/ALMS car (preferably something easy to tune and drive) with stock hp and T8's on Wet SSR5 and dry SSR5 and combine the 2 times for an over-all time?

Be like a real 2 day test session sort of. Rain one day, then dry the next. ;)

I'd also been down to learn SSR11 in a JGTC/ALMS car. 👍

No results huh niel?

Just one question,

When should I have done the wet race?

Over the last 10 weeks I have done the following in this order...
ssr11 fwd
laguna z06
rome arcade skyline
tahiti evo proto
cote arcade vertigo
apricot lotus *
trial mtn 4wd
seattle cobra
tahiti II arcade escort
complex altezza *
df II mini

The * represent the only weeks I see as possible subs for a wet race...
Remember that I have to consider the conditions for each race.

Try looking at that same list as...
fwd
fr sim road
fr arcade race
sim rally
fr arcade cote
mr sim road
4wd sim road
normal tire cobra
arcade rally
fr sim race complex string
ff mini

There are very few repeats on that list, and when there is a repeat, it is only limited to some of the most popular combos like a fr sim road car (and even then it has a condition difference like Normal tires).

With all of these conditions to consider...
Road vs Race
Wet vs Dry
Grip vs Slip
Tarmac vs Dirt
Drivetrains vs ... Drivetrains
I am confident about bringing a variety of races in a timely manner

I'm trying to get everything in, it just takes time.

Wet is coming, but keep in mind, how many times have we done the wet before?
Even if I put a wet race in next week, it would probably still be ahead of the previous schedule's frequency.

So yeah, whatever... buckle up and prepare to follow through on your beggings. :mischievous:

I must say on a side note...
I am very happy to see Small Horses get in on the mini... You asked me to hold off for a week because of your vaction, aren't you glad I did? :D
Well I hope so because seeing you participate in the race you asked for is the best part of running it.

btw, I'm still not running the mini ;)
(shoot! now that I think of it... I've been skipping a lot of the races lately :irked: )
(then there's next week. :grumpy: )

Well,
Later. :D

btw, in case you haven't figured out yet... we are doing a wet race of some sort next week.
Also, do you want that order of water in arcade or simulation form?

I'll go with my earlier suggestion of fully-modified Xsara for the wet track.

Maybe a Lister?

Sorry, Kent. Please don't take it as criticism of the way your running things. I have always been behind you in your decisions as I think you do a great job. Both in the enormous work you put in WRS but also in varying the races from week to week, keeping them interesting and challenging. 👍

No offense meant at all. Just trying to do some friendly teasing and some eye-catching advertising at the same time. I am very sorry if it did come out in a clumsy way. :embarrassed: Blame it on my primitive English or a primitive personalty, but please accept my apologies. :)

With that said I do like a race in the wet or the fast car on GV II like I also suggested. Thats why I did bring it up in the suggestion thread. But I sure will race everything else you come up with, just like I've did on 28 previous weekly races (well except the complex  ). And I'll properly end enjoying it, as I usually do. :D

For the Wet race, I would suggest whichever car you go with, that you run a test lap to make sure it's not next-to-impossible to get a clean lap. Maybe leave off the HP upgrades if you do a Sim car.

I guess FR are the most challenging cars to drive on a wet track. Especially when they have too much power.
What about a Lotus Esprit or something similar ?

Edit : Fully modded BMW ?

How about a road car with limited hp on Smoky Mountain. I know we did a rally a few weeks back, but i like them so much I just wanted to lend a suggestion for the future. For the time I've been here i've never seen a raod car on a rally track and i think it might be something interesting and different.

I'd like to see a race with an RX-7 FC (Infini III), a Silvia K's 2000cc, a 240SX Fastback, or an MR2 GT-S with around 300 hp.

Apricot Hill or Deep Forest II would be nice.

As far as I know, we've never used any of these cars, and they're all quite fun to drive.

Personally, I enjoy the slower races a lot. It's a more interesting challenge to find the perfect line that doesn't scrub off speed, rather than holding on for dear life and praying it's a clean lap.

EDIT: @famine can we get some statistics on cars that've never been used in the WRS?

Not a hope :D

I keep my stats by manufacturer, not by car... Since we've only used the most popular manufacturer 8 times, that leaves quite a few gaps (and 11 different types of Lancer Evo). There's a few more races where a choice has been allowed and xome people have picked a car no-one else has chosen - the Lister is a case in point. No-one but Max E. has submitted a time with this car. So technically it's been used...

Yeah, I'm sure that there are a lot of cars in the one-person-used-it-once category ... not the fastest car for any given set of rules, but still enjoyable. The only way we'll use these cars is to choose them specifically :-)

Well hey! Practice what you preach brother! :D

In the wet last week it was a 1 car show except for a few people. Guess where I was. :sly: Right in last place using 1 of the 2 entered RGTs.

Regarding next week...
I can't do deep forest II, and since the tracks in the game are limited, I will be selecting the track based on a random, but even pattern.

Also, I still have 1 request made by a specific racer who went with the time submission/request-suggestion method that is always so much fun (props to CFM for that miata week 👍 ).

Any way, let me know what you guys are thinking, I will have an eye out for replies.
Till next time,

Just read the thread stating that the WRS needs to be "spiced up". How about a team race in which D2 and D1 racers must team up with a D3 or D2 racer and combine the two times. It might make for an exciting race, with the lower div. person actually winning it for the team. Just a thought.

to go with that thought... what if we had to form teams, with one member from each division... and then the AVERAGE time is used... that would be kinda cool, but then Kent would have a lot of math and stuff to do....
