All courses were driven in the normal direction, I just ran Suzuka first, then Grand Valley, and finally Motegi.

I didn't think you could run real world tracks in reverse - well not without the "wrong way" warning flashing the whole time.

Entry form order is different, you can do that any way you want, just make sure you get the right times with the right tracks.

It is that friendly thursday warning time again. :nervous:

GrumpEone, Jet Badger, Skython11, Shotamagee have yet to submit their times.

Ok my times are in for this week

Parts bought;

Oil change (already paid for I'm pretty sure) 231 HP - 256 HP
Engine Chip; $1500; 256 - 266 HP
Stage 1 Turbo; $4800; 266 - 300 HP
Stage 1 Weight; $1200; 1230kg - 1156kg

Cash left 8212-7500 = 712

The car "feels" quick now, but the extra power has not helped the handling which I liked a lot last week. (it has some corner exit understeer and a bit of lift off oversteer) And normally stay on track pretty easily but I found I was going off track more often than normal when practicing and the car is not as "fun" to drive either (but its definitely faster). Its probably because until now the cars I've had always felt like they were handling>power but now its the opposite, so any new income is gonna be spent on improving the handling.

As for the races, At Motegi 2 of the 3 races were pretty terrible, way too deep into T5 on one attempt and spun by the AI again at T5 on another, which lead to the first race all season where I haven't beaten the AI (I couldn't re catch a NSX who beat me by about 2 seconds). Thankfully the other race was pretty good, a bit deep into 90 degree but I still kept it on the road from memory.
Grand Valley was all good bar one off road moment at T5 on the second lap. (I'm gonna need a new right rear tail light now)
Suzuka was pretty uneventful with no major mistakes or issues, so that was probably the run I'm happiest with.

(All corner references are to the GT4 track maps by AMG)

I pretty much saw nothing but Lotus Esprits and Jaguars for my tracks, it was pretty stiff competition.

I needed all 3 attempts on Twin Ring, because AI decided that my toyota should be better offroad. All I can say is that they were wrong and I proved it on the third attempt.👍
Suzuka was a real headache :nervous:, damn I hate those repetitive curves.

My main opponent there was a Championship White NSX Type R :)

Some people have been asking what I was doing in the tune shop earlier in the week. I think this could be for one of two reasons;

1) My performance has improved massively and they want in on the secret, or...
2) My performance has not improved at all and they think I was drinking tea, playing pool etc.

My fear is the latter after seeing others improve their power to weight ratio by almost 50%!

As some of you know, Bob, my test driver spent a lot of time on the track at Fuji last week. Some of this time involved testing out different grades of tyre, and he reported back to me that I could afford some R compounds that might be worth as much as 5 seconds per lap! Needless to say, as soon as I found out I could not afford a big turbo the tyres were ordered and delivered to the tune shop where I also fitted an intercooler. Unfortunately this meant that I had no money left over at all for a desperately needed oil change, and by the end of this weeks racing I had lost 7hp.

This is... unexpected. I really thought that I did quite bat at Suzuka and felt very optimistic about Grand Valley :odd:

I think I accidently switched my Grand Valley and Suzuka times. I remember Completing Suzuka before G. Valley and I probably wrote the times in wrong order... :banghead:

^ Check the in game diary. It'll tell you your times for each race.

I did think it a bit odd that you managed 1st, last and midfield in just three races.

What did I ever do to you people?!? Why are you making my job hard?

We all just want to win, so are constantly upgrading our rides.

I believe the bookie, handicapper and media roles are all experimental, with limited success this time. Maybe it's time to open up a discussion on rule tweaks before the start of the next season?

Suzuka: ~2'25 * 2laps = ~4'50 + time lost for cold tires or standing start = ~4'55

G. Valley: ~2'11 * 2laps = ~4'22 + time lost for cold tires and/or standing start = ~4'33

Hey, can you guys PM me if a new season starts up, I want to take part.

I like your enthusiasm, but unless someone can vouch for you on pain of being booted themselves if prove to be not above board, but things are going to stay invitational. You can prove yourself in say the Top Gear Comparo thread to be an above board racer over time. The Top Gear Comparo thread is currently starting a new round.

Sorry Jet Badger, but times submitted are final and it is up to you get the proper ones written down for the proper tracks, typos will kill you every time.

Sorry Korza, I knew it would be difficult and with the other things I have going on I don't have time to lend much help. At least your still trying to give it a go. Your system may mature into something useful for other events though, so keep at it. You can also help make it easier to include such a thing in the season after action review.

Nissan Skyline GTS-t Type-M '89

Another successful week, another nice paycheck, but what to spend it on?

Well I'd be an idiot not to change the oil after last weeks power loss, so that was done right away. Next up, a power boost from a small turbo. I'd have liked bigger, but I know I'll never afford better before the end of the season. Finally a racier flywheel for better engine response.

Code:
Change	Balance	Description
===========================[COLOR="Slategray"][I]
+ 8,400	= 9,199	Week 7 winnings
+   900	=10,099	Week 7 bonus
- 1,699 = 8,400	Transfer to GrumpEone
- 1,250	= 7,150	Racing Chip
+ 4,500 =11,650 Week 8 winnings
+ 1,300 =12,950 Week 8 bonus
-10,250 = 2,700 Racing Hard Tyres
- 2,700 =     0	Large Racing Intercooler 246hp -> 260hp[/I][/COLOR][B]
+ 5,100 = 5,100	Week 9 winnings
+ 1,400 = 6,500	Week 9 bonus[COLOR="DarkRed"]
-    50 = 6,450	Oil Change
- 4,600	= 1,850	Stage 1 turbo	260hp -> 312hp
- 1,000	=   850	Racing flywheel[/B][/COLOR]

This racier setup put me against more exotic competition. Gone were the japanese sports cars, in were the likes of Aston Martin, TVR, RUF and the odd Corvette - not that any of them had a chance.

The extra power and confining walls of this city course did cause me a few dents as I managed to exceed the limits of even my sticky race tyres - not that it was all my fault, people kept turning into me as I dived up the inside!

Lucky I finished early. It gives the mechanics the rest of the week to straighten my car out before the finale.

I took joint 3rd place in the original GTP Continental Tyres Challenge, despite only doing half of the races. I think that's enough proof of my abilities.

It has nothing to do with your driving ability or lack there of. It has everything to do with your character and integrity and ability to handle time restrictions and information.

OK, then, I'll enter the Top Gear comparo.

I was joking about all of that, but it does get a bit annoying having constantly change the odds though.

If it is to fast, sure you can challenge it, everyone in the Sunday Cup can challenge anyones times at any time. If its to slow, tough cookies and move on to the next round.

Yes, make it formal. Then if everyone could make tests of the car and track to see if its possible we can clear it up fairly quickly. If you can get within 3 seconds its likely legit and within 1 second its very likely legit, and past speaks for itself.

I will also accept corrections from the driver themselves to make a time of theirs slower, but I will not accept corrections to make them faster. If you can't post them correctly the first time, your not going to profit from it.

I really didn't want to fool anyone. Just when I went to do the events, I wrote the official form in my notes
Code:
Twin Ring Motegi Road Course________
Grand Valley_______________________
Suzuka___________________________
But after TRM-RC I started Suzuka because I really suck at that track and it took me some time to even complete a clean lap and since I was in hurry, I accidently wrote Suzuka time in the place of G.Valley... I gave proof that my time at Suzuka was 4'55 and 4'33 was the time of G.Valley. Ofcourse it was my fault that I mistook the times, i'm not denying that because that's how it was. But I can't prove 4'33 at Suzuka, because it was 22 seconds slower.

I will make your Suzuka time 4'55, if you want, but the Grand Valley one stays. You already lost points as it is, lowering the other time you will lose even more. Chalk it up to some mechanical problem or anything else you like.

Good lad! I will recalc the results for Suzuka then. Try admining this some time, its a lot of double checking, and I still make mistakes.

Its done, it only affects Car-less, Shotamagee and Jet Badger and only on the one track.

I know it was not intentional Jet Badger, but I just think the points table should be corrected, it would have been a bit of a dud if you and Carless finish on the same points or win overall (because you're pretty close atm) due to a typo. (And me and Skython (well I am) are also both eyeing off the third step on the overall podium so I need every point (&$) I can get.)

Edit: I also hope the typo doesn't cost you the title Jet badger, I feel bad for bring it up now. Before it was just -1 for me and carless, now its -3 for you (that's right isn't it BH-21?)
