Let's discuss the biggest game of the year. Everybody knows who I'm cheering for, but what about all of the fans of teams other than PITT/SEA, who do you want to win?

Also, who do you guys think is the better of the two starting QB's? Both Roethlisberger and Hasselbeck have been nearly perfect in the post-season. Roethlisberger has more arm strength, while Hasselbeck has been in the league a few more years. I think this game will come down to which QB makes the most mistakes, and I just can't see Ben blowing a game with the way he's been playing recently.

I don't think Seattle will be able to stop Pittsburgh's passing attack as easily as they did to Carolina's either. The Steelers don't rely on one reciever like the Panthers did. In their game against Denver their third string receiver (Cedrick Wilson) was the best on the field. I'll be interested to see how Seattle's strong secondary matches up.

I'm also confident that the Steelers will stuff Shaun Alexander. The Steelers have shut down some of the best RB's in the league all year, and I don't think Alexander will be any different. At the same time, I don't think Willie Parker is going to have much of a rushing game, however I see him making some big plays off the screen pass.

Well - I'm not much of a NFL junkie, mostly as the game is completely irrelevant to us here in DK, I am, however, betting on the Seahawks as I've been to Seattle and really really love the city (I'm more of a Baseball fan to be honest..) I will be watching the game though !....

Gotta go with Seattle. Pitt has looked really good, and I admit that I counted them out from the first week of the playoffs. I thought they'd lose to the Bengals, I thought they'd lose to the Colts, and I thought they'd lose to the Broncos. Now I think they'll lose to the Seahawks.

One thing I've noticed about both of these teams is how balanced they are. Both teams have a strong passing attack, and both of them have a solid running attack... and they can both play defense.

Seattle is stronger with the running game, but the Steelers have a stronger defense. It should be a tough matchup, but I think Seattle will take this one.

i dont think alexander will get stuffed. i think hell probably get about 80 - 95, which isnt exaclty great numbers, but it doesnt constitute getting "stuffed."

Pittsburgh, pick your poison. If you elect to stop Alexander, you'll watch Matt Hasselbeck pick apart your secondary. He's not afraid to throw to anyone and everyone (unlike a certain Panthers quarterback). If you elect to contain the passing attack, the league's MVP will rack up some big yards.

Should be a fun two weeks of trash-talking :)

Don't know if anyone outside Seattle and Pittsburgh actually cares. East-coast bias, I say! The sports media claims that this Superbowl has no national appeal, yet they don't seem to realize that nobody west of the Mississippi cared about New England/Carolina, New England/Philadelphia, Baltimore/New York, etc... And don't even get me started on the 2000 World Series...

I seriously aint looking foward to the game. Two teams i dont like. Interesting...but guess who i put my money on babY! STEELERS! AND also what about that Big Ben eh? He's getting better and better. I doubted him but i guess he proved me wrong. Well still got a long way to go before the big game. (2 weeks)

I'm going with Pittsburgh. I think their defense is way too good to lose this game. With the pressure they've been able to put on opposing QB's, while at the same time shutting down the running game, I can't see Seattle pulling this one off. If Pittsburgh's defense was able to be very effective against the Colts offense, who's to say they can't completely shut down the Seahawks?

As for QB's, I'd say Roethlisberger. I still see Hasselbeck as an unproven player in big games. Does "We want the ball and we're going to score" ring any bells? Hah. Roethlisberger just seems so calm and cool all the time, I think he'll be the better QB in this game. But, we'll all just have to wait and find out.

Have you been paying attention to the Seahawk playoff games? Against Washington, all of the pressure in the world was on his shoulders after Alexander was knocked out of the game. He put the whole team on his back and led them to a victory, whereas Seahawk teams of past (and indeed Hasselbeck of the past) would have wilted. Against Carolina, Hasselbeck made no mistakes at all, and the game was over early because of his precise passing attack.

This game is going to be good. I think Seattle will win by 10, or Pittsburgh will win by 7.

I have been paying attention. Washington's offense was terrible in that game, a big part of that due to the fact that Seattle was able to shut down Clinton Portis. That wasn't an all Matt Hasselbeck win. That was a combined Hasselbeck, Seattle's Defense, and Washington's offense win. In the Carolina game, once again I'd have to hand it to Seattle's defense. With Delhomme apparently afraid of throwing to anyone else but Steve Smith, and the lack of any kind of running game from the Panthers, that was Seattle's game to lose. Not to mention that Carolina's "great" defense couldn't stop anything all day long. I still have no faith in your Seahawks. Maybe they'll prove me wrong.

I don't look at them as extreme under dogs and in your case they'll choke since you put them as winning team.

Edit: Matt Hasselbeck still has yet to prove himself in the high pressure games. Hes had two easy games in a row against teams that straight up sucked.

I could make the same case for Ben Roethlisberger. Neither Indianapolis nor Denver put up much of a fight.

I'm a Ravens fan, but I have Seattle for the win - I'm not convinced they're going to win, but I think they'll have a better chance. I do think it's going to be close. Seattle hadn't played for a while when they faced Washington, and then the next week they killed Carolina.

I didn't say Ben was proven either. He choked last year, but has improved a lot in his descision making same with Hasselbeck. I still think Pittsburg is goin to win though.

Joey Porter is gonna give "Soft" Alexander another concussion. Hasselbeck is going to be trying to scramble away from defenders all day.

i hate this year's super bowl. there has never been a year that i couldnt at least settle for a team to cheer for; untill now. i hate the steelers, always have. and i have nothing for the seahawks. i cant choose one to cheer for. ill just come for the beer and commercials.

South Eastern Michigan is hoping right now, and I know where I'm going to be Super Bowl Sunday...laying in my bed . Oh well at least the Super Bowl is in my home town.

I would never go to the Super Bowl, if I had tickets they'd be on eBay and with the money I got from them I'd buy a big screen TV and watch the game at my house. I've been to Ford Feild countless times to see our pathetic Lions.

I'd only go to the Superbowl if my favorite team was in it (like this year :)). Otherwise, I'd rather sell the tickets for an unfair price, and watch the game at home, where I can get as drunk as I want, and don't have to worry about being mugged outside the stadium.

Since it's Detroit you have a good chance of being mugged out side the stadium too. Detroit is one crappy city I must say.

Yeah, but we all know how credible you've become...

Anyway, can you guys believe it? My lame uncle is making lasagna...LASAGNA... for the Super Bowl. I was like, "FOOL! Chicken wings. NOW!"
Who the hell eats lasagna for a superbowl? I hope things will change by the time I get over there. Anyway, cheers to all who're celebrating today.

This should be a good game.
