Don't ask, just accept it.

There are pretty big changes. Wait until the next public test or the first round. Theyre near 2 seconds faster from last year at Sepang, and thats just preseason testing.

I'm guessing he meant in terms of regs, so are there any changes in that aspect?

These cars are getting terrifying. That's a good thing.

I think most will be running 1:28's in Fuji qualifying. Maybe even 1:27's. Thatd be near lmp1-h pace. At Suzuka they did 1:48's in qualifying last year. Thats amazing pace.

Hoping the GT500 guys have got on the DTM manufacturer's level when it comes to rear view mirrors!

I know that pretty much all of the GT500 cars are using the camera method for the rear-view mirror since the rear-view is pretty much obscured in the car. Are you saying the DTM cars have something along those lines?

JLOC announce they'll be taking delivery of a Huracan mid-way through the season.
I imagine they'll be looking for some sponsorship from the people who did the Bubblegum Crisis anime and will be sporting a Bubblegum Crisis themed livery on their car?

One if the theme songs used for the OVA series was Konya wa 'Huracan', after all :sly:

Sorry, I was referring to the side/wing mirrors. On the DTM cars, they're essentially flow conditioners which happen to have a mirror stuck to it, whereas the GT500 cars have the typical GT car style mirror and mount. I would post an example but I'm on my phone at the moment.

Japanese autosport reports Honda conducted a private test at Okayama! http://as-web.jp/news/info.php?c_id=2&no=63109

Is there a chance they'll show SuperGT races in english one day?
The only thing that stopped me following this series is the lenguage barrier.
Yes that's lame I should learn japanese but for a number of reasons it's not going to happen.

RLM should be doing more YouTube broadcasts this year.

I hope so, SuperGT is one of the best series, Japan has a fascinating culture but not understanding what they say ruins the race for me.

That's just strange, really. I don't speak Japanese but I can gather at least some of what they say, and even if so, it can't detract from the race at all.

Probably you are more open minded than me or smarter who knows.
When I watch SuperGT on youtube I see an interesting race but a mad man screaming all the time and I can't understand what he is saying.
Not knowing what the commentators are saying just adds to the excitement and suspense!
You could be right but still.

I wouldn't mind having Richard Crail at the races to help out with the coverage. :)

Oli Turvey signs for DOME.

Is Super GT about to have the international breakthrough it deserves? It looks like we're heading into a new golden era.

Oh, and Honda have played merry-go-round with their drivers:

#8: Matsuura / Nojiri
#15: Kogure / Turvey
#17: Tsukakoshi / Mutoh
#64: Nakajima / Baguette
#100: Yamamoto / Izawa

Plus, Drago are to run on Bridgestones.

I highly doubt Turvey signing is SGT getting it's international breakthrough. Rather I see this as Honda and McLaren growing their cooperation through having one of McLaren's development drivers help the cause for Honda after they had, arguably, the worst campaign they've ever had in GT500.

Kevin Magnussen was rumored to either be going to Japan to race in Super Formula or go to Andretti and race for them back when there were rumors that Honda was going to help bank-roll a potential 6 car effort for Andretti in Indycar this year. While i'm pretty sure the ship has sailed on the 6 car effort, this might be only the beginning of the driver cooperation between Honda and McLaren.

Kogure moves from Team Kunimitsu to DOME; Naoki Yamamoto switches from DOME to partner Kosuke Matsuura at ARTA; and Hideki Mutoh goes from Kunimitsu to Real Racing.

Plus, DOME are now on Bridgestones rather than Michelins.
As Trustjab mentioned, DOME pulled out. The #15 is a new team.

Also, your driver lineup is a bit misinformed as Yamamoto will partner Izawa at Kunimitsu. This is the actual line-up:
#8: Matsuura / Nojiri
#15: Kogure / Turvey
#17: Tsukakoshi / Mutoh
#64: Nakajima / Baguette
#100: Yamamoto / Izawa

I'm referring to the fact that these drivers signing up for Super GT is actually getting decent coverage by motorsport networks. We have a decent amount of international drivers coming in this year.

Only following what Autosport put up. Will edit previous post.
