...We wake up with some very interesting news, GSR announcing a switch to Mercedes, presumably dropping Muller for their pick of SFormula driver...
Nobody knows, to be fair. Fancied a change?Oh? That's odd... It's not like GSR had any issues with the Z4, why did they decide to change cars now?

Here's the 2015 Miku:Perhaps Taniguchi was tired of winning and wanted to give others a sporting chance, haha. Next thing you know, he's going to ditch the Miku livery because other drivers don't overtake his car, fearing that they'll scratch Miku...'s paintjob (eyyyy).

And the hood. That will look real nice on the side of the AMG GT GT3

For the GoodSmile Company WonFes events, I bet.Their keeping the Z4 as a museum piece essentially.
So who had the harder time parting with their 2014 car - GoodSmile Racing or Jim Gainer Racing? And did the latter get thier car from from the NDDP team? They have a race winner there(Chang/Buriram United Circuit) after all.So for a year they need something new to race with before the new BMW GT3 car comes around, so they are buying a Merc SLS from Jim Gainer, who are switching their second car to a Nissan GT-R GT3.
Bringing the M6 straight to GT300 just as it's been released as a customer GT3 would be brave indeed.Next-Generation BMW GT3(?)
Why? There will be plenty of top teams around the globe doing it and Bentley has proved that under GT-3 regulations it is very possible to have a winning car out the box, after all GT-3 is all about lobbying for BoP to better favor your brand...Bringing the M6 straight to GT300 just as it's been released as a customer GT3 would be brave indeed.
True, but it'd still be interesting to see just how it'd fare. Why? There will be plenty of top teams around the globe doing it and Bentley has proved that under GT-3 regulations it is very possible to have a winning car out the box, after all GT-3 is all about lobbying for BoP to better favor your brand...
Yay. Definitely the car I'm most excited for.Gt300 lotus evora might make an appearance at Tokyo Auto Salon.

Eva ran the Mooncraft, then bought a McLaren (which never really performed brilliantly), so they're building this on a mother chassis.Alright, time to see how the Evora copes with GT300 regulations... The team who is going to run it in Super GT are the same team that ran a Daytona Prototype-esque car (the Shinden, IIRC), correct?

It did win the second Fuji Sprint Cup race in 2013 though.Ah, so it's a mother chassis. Hopefully it'll be more competitive than the Mclaren, that car lacked the perfomance for a long while on its own class.
Forgot about that.
Is that from the 2014 season? If so...Also if anyone wants a random poster/autograph card thing to print off:
2017 is when we get fully unified Class 1 rules. I still don't see anyone picking another manufacturer over the big 3.I thought they wanted to become an official BMW team if they allowed DTM-type cars in GT500?
If it's anything like the last 2 seasons of McLaren, a bit hit and miss. Also, can't wait to see what Eva/Evangelion Racing do with something other than a DP
So GSR/Hatsune Miku Racing is switching to Mercedes? I thought they wanted to become an official BMW team if they allowed DTM-type cars in GT500?
While both the Bimmer and the Merc are GT3 cars, they have GT300 spec engines inside of them. How these engines go from GT3 spec to GT300 spec is something I would like to know - but I digress. They are purely switching to Merc for this year. The BMW team in question that wanted to move to GT500 in the last two years was the Jorg Muller/Seiji Ara car that had Augusto Farfus in the car for the Suzuka 1000 this year in Team Studie; they are the de facto factory BMW team after Good Smile chose to work with Ukyo "undoubtedly the best driver that Grand Prix racing has ever produced" Katayama's team.
The issues that are preventing this, as far as I am aware, pertain to budgeting. One is a touring car while the other is a Endurance Car with a different Engine Formula, more developed suspension since it's an open tire formula and aerodynamic development mid season. The argument was that it might take money and people power away from the DTM programme because apparently BMW doesn't want to allocate new money for Studie if they want to to move to GT500. Since the DTM requires each make to have 8 cars, the big issue is that if Studie go to GT500 that they might not be getting the attention to run to their full potential while the DTM is running at it's required capacity.
It's a bit of a mess, yes. But once Class 1 comes around I wouldn't be surprised to see a M4 or another BMW in GT500.
Why not Nissan? if GSR-Miku were to go to GT500, I'd rather see a Miku-themed GTR than some Lexus. THOUGH, Hatsune Miku the character does have a relationship with Toyota so there is that. But regardless, I'd rather see a Hatsune Miku GTR than a Lexus coupeWhile both the Bimmer and the Merc are GT3 cars, they have GT300 spec engines inside of them. Team Studie may be the de facto BMW factory time for the 2014 SuperGT season in GT300, but it looks like GoodSmile Racing With Team Ukyo were the proverbial Aces.
If GoodSmile Racing were to pull a ARTA and add a GT500 team to their program, would they go with a Lexus as their car? If you recall, up until the 2012 season, ARTA had a Honda in GT500 and the ASL Garaiya for their GT300 car.
