Should we all turn off our mics before race start?

Heads up to everyone. Going to take off my mic tonight (at least in the beginning) during the race. If I make contact with you while trying to pass you and you are ahead, I will yield the position.

I'm excited about this weeks race, I've actually had a chance to get some practise in this week, still having trouble with tyres lasting 10 laps but will have to try and ease off the pace a little to preserve them. easier said than done when others are flying ahead of you though!!

Is dj hosting?
This is an awesome track, not much margin for errors though.

Snoopy will be hosting tonights race. I'll be picking up friday races. DJ will still be in control of the rooms.

I agree this is an awesome track. But concentration is a must, there really is nowhere to relax. First lap on cold tires is tough, especially the NSX's they are really slippery on cold rubber. Worn tires are tough too really have to take it easy in some turns.

I think we should have a pretty close race tonight. Should be fun!

I am hosting? Sounds good.

DJ, what are the parameters? Public lobby or private lounge? Are we expecting 16 racers? If so, do you want the room to have no mic option? I know that helps with slower connections.

Technically demanding track indeed, these machines should make for very close racing, I think consistency will be key to winning this one. 30 laps without a major mistake... good luck!

oh and don't be put off by anyone pulling out an early lead, closer to pitting time they may well be suffering from serious tyre degradation, judging by my practise runs this week I certainly will be suffering (in the lead or not)

how does everyone feel about this for a season finale, the ultimate test of man & machine, 1-1.5 hours at Nürburgring Nordschleife Type V. Not sure what machines we could go with, but I'd suggest something powerful, say in the 650-750PP range perhaps?

Either way I suggest leaving mics on. Communication might be important easpecially on laps nearing pit in and also leaving pit lane

Hahahaha yeah, you won the internet connection test :sly: Public or private is up to you. I enjoy the public option because it enables us to reject players but dealing with strangers is frustrating. I do not expect more than 13 racers (I have deleted 3 from my friends list). I like having the mic on for communication though so I would recommend keeping it.

Sounds interesting. Once you got the details worked out leave it in the suggestions thread in our league forums. I'll put it up for voting for the season finale from there.

What will be the qualifying format? Get a time in practice and park?
Any thoughts on how race start should go? Go on green from a dead stop and every man for himself? Pace lap?

Here's a clip from reality:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqJL6SK9S8c

We're going back to the old way of doing it. Show up on time, run some laps and when its time to go everybody parks their car in the pit area.

Just remember, the race is not won on the first lap, you have COLD TIRES, and to try your hardest not to make contact. Be good sportsmen like we have in the past and everything should be fine.

Let me do another speed test when I'm home. Comcast is not always that fast, but should be good enough for 13.

Per DJ, I will host it at public lobby, with mic on.

I can always host as well. If I use a public lobby ill make sure to have fixed host unchecked

Snoopy hasn't created a lobby yet so I am doing so now.

the room number is:

1472-6118-3830-2745-8801

great race last night folks

Godangit you really kept the pressure on me and for you to get disconnected was horrible luck, I really felt for you there, I hope you still get some points as you sure deserve something out of that race. You had me worried when I made my first pit stop with only a 5 second lead and you didn't follow me in, I was praying you weren't on a 1 stopper.

I haven't watched the replay yet but looks like some close battles throughout the field.

Once again apologies to those of you I failed to pass cleanly but without my mic and not being able to hear anyone it was difficult to know where you guys were gonna yield..

Wow. Kudos to the front runners, you guys were stupid fast! Having the race where the super gt's actually race made it that much better. Watching the youtube onboard videos gave me a much better feel for the line through the first uphill esses.

Thanks snoopy for allowing a clean pass going into turn 1 late in the race.Your nsx was looking pretty beat on. Grayfox and I had a fun run in the last couple laps. I wished I had more top end heading down that last stretch
cuz you where closing fast!

Best Oh S**t moment: Lap 28/29? blasting down the back straight and seeing dj and someone else right smack in the middle of the track after they spun. Barely scooched by the first car and then looked up and there's dj too! I wasn't expecting an obstacle course that late in the race!

Thanks everyone for a clean race. Looking forward to the next one.

I want to give Godangit my second place points from last night. It was unfortunate that he got disconnected due to the weather in his area. He clearly would have placed at least second, so i feel he deserves the points. You can give me last place points, as i'm really not points racing this season.

Soopa, man you were fast great job! Everyone else great race last night. JT and I had some really good racing there for a while. And as always it was a pleasure to race him.

Anyone interested I will be racing open lobby tonight either 550pp muscle cars or 575 FR US Muscle (any year)

Do you want to ask the whole grid to move down a notch? You take 3rd, I take 4th and so on?

Nope, thats not fair to everyone else. Like I said I really don't care about the points this season, just like racing with you guys and enjoy a good race. So I'm happy taking last place points everyone else keep what they got last night and were good!👍

Don't worry about the points. It was just tough luck. I consider it the same as if I had blown a motor at that point of the race.

I have a league announcement to make as well.

During the race it's fine to have your mic on but if you are in an area with a lot of background noise please mute or shut off your mic. Remember, good race etiquette isn't only on the track. If you are being distracting by having an overly loud mic or lots of background noise it makes the race less fun for everybody. Lets keep this league fun for everybody and police ourselves.

During practice before the race is it possible to exit practice and enter again and retain your lap time and qualifying spot? I'm asking because I hit a wall, hit the little man on the menu and found myself back in the lounge. With only 10 minutes to go before the race time I frantically tried to qualify again. I was listed as 3rd but I knew there were others faster than me who left the practice as well. When the race started I was 5th just as I thought I should have been with the faster racers ahead of me.

If you hit the start button and return to the pits you won't lose your time if you exit to where you pick your car/tune etc. you normally lose your time. But I've loss my time not exiting the track. Go figure?!
