Should we all turn off our mics before race start?

This person is not sick fast (not sure who you are speaking of), this was just a miracle lap I'm sure. This person is most likely averaging in the 1:56-57 range.

I think that's probably right. I hit 1:55's twice last night practicing, but average mid 1:56's. It would be nice to hit 1:55 for qualifying, but I'd rather run steady high 1:56's and not go off track trying for the fastest possible lap during the race.

Looks like I'll be several seconds off the pace. Weird, on Sat. I could hit some high 58's and then last night anything under 2:00 was my best. Hate to think I'm getting slower... probably thinking too much.

This is a tough track, with lots of sandy runoffs and no long straight that we can rest. So easy to make a mistake and lost 10 seconds or more.

Seems like most of us are averaging around the same times. Could make for some good tight racing with several lead changes.

I was running consistent 1:56s all weekend and today I couldn't get below 1:58. Looks like you got your mojo back Rash. I enjoyed it while I could.

Try drastically changing your setup blindly. I do it every time. Sometimes it yields 2 seconds, other times it takes back 2 seconds. The setup in this game is a mystery to me.

You still have it buddy. I think something was up with the network because my tires weren't heating up in my lobby or JT's. The NSX is terrible on cold tires.

Any word on number of laps? 25 should give us about 50 mins give or take

Anyone looking to practice join up with us we've been having some really fun 5-6 lap sprint races.

I've seen that problem with tires not heating up in a lobby, if you reset the track it will fix it. It doesn't seem to happen in a public room.

25 sounds fine. Just want to know for sure to figure out a pit strategy. Tires are wearing fast on all these twists and turns. It will be interesting.

My tires are done at about 10. If I try to go 12 I have a feeling I'll get stuck out on balds, the track is long.

I prefer an even number, like 30 laps. Really test the limits of tires and how a 3 or 4 stop strategy will pan out.

Now that's awesome news! Any idea what the update may bring? I'm hoping for some new premium models, or new supercars that GT5 doesn't have but Shift 2 has. Another awesome upgrade would be some kind of drag race track.

Aside from that exciting news I have some new rules clarification to post regarding DNF's and finishing the race. From here on out these are the rules for quitting races:

  • Racers that quit a race voluntarily at any point of the race and leave the race/lounge/lobby will not be awarded any Place Points or Bonus Points.
  • Racers that are disconnected involuntarily will receive Bonus Points for finishing the race but not for setting the fast lap time. The reason for this is because I review the lap times at the end of the race after the 3rd place finisher has come in and by that time any disconnected racers will not show up at that time.
  • Racers that decide to park their vehicles instead of leaving the race totally will receive Place Points dependent on where GT5 places them at the end of the race. Since they could easily quit the game and do other stuff, if they park and stay till the end of the race they will receive Bonus Points for finishing the race and for setting the fastest lap (if they did so).
These rules will be in effect from here on out. Thanks for your cooperation and thanks Snoopy for being patient and well reasoned with your advice.

One more thing, voting is up now for next weeks event and I would like it to be settled by this friday so everybody can practice over the weekend. If you haven't voted yet head over here:

30 laps huh?
that means it could be a 3 stop race for me.
I still cannot get below the 2 min mark with an average lap time of 2:08!
looks like the NSX's are going to rule the race

Whoever does 15 laps 1st stint will win. It will happen. My fronts wear out by lap 10.

Lap times realy start to drop after lap 10. Driving around by yourself on worn tires is ok but with other cars on track nfg. Two stop race for me.

hmm, I'm hoping for a 2 stop but my tyres are getting real worn by lap 10 and may end up in the kitty litter as a result, I love the NSX but I'm gonna give the Z a try tonight and see how it treats the tyres... I wish I knew how to set a car up cause I'm sure the NSX is capable of more laps than I'm getting out of it
