The thing is that the problem in offline championship mode still occurs in Legend and in Default setups.

I'm really feeling tricked by Black Beans/Milestone.

Hey Bijjizzy, the thing is,like Bullie told, that now I'm getting the freezing bug with default setups also...see when I concluded that the freezing bug is related with custom setups i've stop using them but it seems the data save already got tainted or corrupted by that use...so i've erased all my championship saved data and started from scratch and in this championship even if i have to run slicks in the wet I wont touch them...

Im expecting next week the "you need a haircut" warning light to come on..

I've had that warning light on for some months already.

About the freezing issues, I'm a bit worried now if I dare to continue my championship or if I should wait for a while if there is coming some sort of patch. Wouldn't want to start over again from scratch with 20 lap races... Has anyone contacted Black Bean / Milestone with this issue, do they even reply if you try to contact them? If there is a channel to contact with them, maybe we should all report about this (and report our love for the game too!) and maybe we could get something done.

Fair point bullie!

I hadnt realised it did it with std setups.

Ive got be honest i did the championship on 5 lapswithout changing the setup, (i foolishly thought it did it for you LOL)

I didnt encounter any issues, perhaps i just got lucky.,

The freezing bug has happened 4 times now but on each occasion all i did was hold down the power button for 5 secs to reset. Booted the game back up and it loaded the championship to the session it crashed in and everthing worked fine, this was for all 4 crashes. After rebooting i have been able to change setup and not had the same problem, i'm using the pre- set tunes i.e. qualifying, race etc no custom tunes yet. Seems like some of you are having worse problems!

Despite a few minor issues i'm still really enjoying the game the open lobbies seem to be mostly racers now not punters and offline the a.i. can put up a good fight. Can't believe the negative reviews i've read, they based them on 2 or 3 hours play, this game has way more depth than that but does take a little effort to get into.

What anoys me about this game is the complete lack of players online, and then when you do find the one and only race it's password protected stopping others entering.

It now means that the punting worry is resulting in some clean and new racers losing out on regular online play because they can't enter. The punters seem to be effecting people even when they don't play!

I've got a couple of friends who have bought the game (both on G25's) on my recommendation and both of them have mentioned they can't find games to enter.

On the note of the freezing bug, its not acceptable for a game to crash what ever the reason, Blackbean/Milestone need to be pushed to resolve it, and and at the same time they can patch the other issues that have been mentioned (controls assignment, bonnet view mirror, live race timing, short cut/off track penalties). We can only hope.

I hope you guys don't get me wrong...I'm also enjoying the game pretty much-love these tracks, one grows to enjoy the cars handling(so far the best for me is the Quattropuorte but a little bit slower than the BMW and the AMG),the shifter sound in cockpit view isAWESOME:) and undoubtly the best A.I in a PS3 racing game:tup: -but you've to agree that it's pretty annoying to do a 10 lap race in Legend struggle with the tyres to keep the lead till the finish line and then when the sense of duty is fulfilled:dopey: freeze reboot,do it all again:banghead:🤬
So a little whinning whithin the brotherwood must be alowed even if that implies VLAD(or is it NIEL? ) paying me a little visit...
I guess the online doesn't suffer from similar bugs so I probably stick to it(like I did before with Scc) but you guys play a little bit earlier than me:guilty:

FINGERS CROSSED (until it hurts...)

So....... had the freezing isssue again, can confirm this happens in championship mode on Magione when altering settings in the pits. For me the game then freezes when you go back on track, did someone say it froze on the menu screen for them?

@stickler what was the problem with G25 and downshifting last night, got a G27 and it's really good with this game.

redgate my g25 is over 2 yrs old now, wouldn't say it's high mileage because only used for ps3 and racing sims which are few and far between. the down shift shift paddle doesn't always register, you can hear the click but no physical shift down. had a slight problem with this in other games but not us bad as last nite, not a lot of fun dropping though the gears into a 2nd/3rd gear going through a hairpin only to find when want the power your still in 5th! or running up to a bend and having to visual check what gear your in and playing catch-up getting the right gear, to late you've overshot the corner. going to give it a blast with air-line as i can see a grey dust around the switch housing hoping there's a build up that could be stopping the switch depressing fully. would like a g27 but forked a lot a £ on av cables in the last week so that could be a few weeks off, still nothing wrong with checking out prices. just had a quick look £255........might need to look under the mattress.

I hope no one feels having a moan will have Neil (vlad) knocking on there door.Every game has it's bugs, but that dosn't mean we should accept it as the norm. Not had the freezing bug myself but my focus is more online than single player, Prety anoying bug though!
My gripe isn't with the game though and unfortunatly can't be patched (if only) My problem is with those lesser drivers who race well until you overtake them.....then the horns come out and they use you as a fith brake or start using every ilegal shortcut in the game to make up time......whats the enjoyment they get from this? Apart from the infintile kind, I also watched one guy systimaticly take every brake marker out on every corner on every track he went on......he was a quick racer, so why? oh well theres no patch for human behaviour though Neil is one solution I supose. Sorry guys for the swearing race......Most saw the idiot I was dealing with and I decided to get verbal even though it probubley just gave him more satisfaction.

See even I whinge about the game LOL Oh and turnuptheheat that last race in the wet was a real classic, I had to go ultra defensive, luckily for me your tyres where as shot as mine though you won on style points for some of the slides I saw you in my rear view LOL

Yep I think we should really go for private lobbys to avoid guys like zelligata or and the other one in the JAg...👎

Yeah H, that was the widest 5 series I ever followed! Some of the slides came about because your brake lights were out of action and I was caught out by your car slowing a bit more than I was anticipating and had to do some serious avoidance!

The easy thing to do to get past would have been to use the tactics some other drivers use, a couple of taps from behind till the car in front gets out of shape and then nip through. But you can gather from the fact there was no contact that it's not my style!

Ok I was wondering if I should ask this question or not(Ohhh Neil here he is...:P;):D but why do you guys keep playing always the same tracks-Imola,Monza,Mugello- it's not that I don't like them but I love driving also Portimão,Kyalamy,Valencia,Vallelunga and the others maybe we could have more variety... but this is only my POV not a criticism.👍

Hi guys
I did send an e-mail both about the steering isues and about the freezing.Got a reply on the first mail that they would send it to the developer. On the up-side havn't had any freeze-up since iv'e start playing championsship on default.Maby it's only affect the first couple of courcses.

STICKLER the problem with your wheel sounds fixable, interested to know if air line sorts the problem. If you decide to get a G27 they have changed the switch housings for the paddle shifters which is supposed to prevent this problem.

Hi heat, My brake lights were fine and working, unfortunatly they were attached to that Jag's front grill! I was really strugeling towards the end of wet races with tyres so had to really brake early, to this end you may have seen me off line lots, I basicly just stuck it on the inside and left room on the outside......I'm nice like that, anyone can pass me just go the long way round on the slippy part of the track LOL I was really expecting you just to tuck in close and blast past me of a tow down the straight but everytime I checked my rear view I kept seeing the side of your car with handfuls of oposite lock on LOL
As for the JaaaaG, the guy was a joke, he got so predictable with his punting antics just drawing him of line and braking early was enough to get him, as you braked you just had to switch back onto the racing line and he'd sail past and onto the gravel......I did this to the guy about 3 times in a row.....he was just a complete knightmare at the begining of races though, your best bet was to sit way back and just dodge the spining cars he left in his wake. The Italian guys (both with the same name) were the marker board crunchers, they would deliberatly just knock them down as they went round. Only reason for doing this was to catch others out on the following lap. Then the corner cuters, 2-10 seconds quicker on the fastest lap table at the end of every race!

And finaly LAAAAAAGGGGG or rather frame rate drop due to lag, the 13 player race we had (at this point I must say my conection was bad last night) had the framerate drop ever so slightly.....not seen this before so I'd put it down to some people including me having bad conections last night.

And lastly, even though we had 2-3 idiots last night I still had good races, real heart pounders LOL I decided early on just to race at my own pace and race the guys around me as pushing on the limit to start with just saw me become idiot food, seemed to be floating middle of the pack most times after the carnage and after I'd dispatched the tank slapers LOL

Hi guys!

I've told arvore yesterday that I would join you guys last night for some online races which I did after finishing an offline round at Imola (Legend, 20 laps at Imola, Default setups, started 19th, finished... 19th - good side of it: I didn't loose position! :dopey:)

My first race with you guys was at Mugello. A lot of familiar faces (Arvore, Hereward, Bigjizzy, Frawe, Turnupdaheat) and some I didn't know. Full lobby which is always a nice thing (well, most of the times...). Yesterday wasn't one of those...

Started 6th and off we go down the straigh towards the 180º uphill right turn. Some rubbing before the braking point in the struggle to find the best spot for that turn, and a small incursion on grass, so I've decided to go a take the corner wide, as far as possible on the left. Saw some cars crashing in the inside at the apex, got through from the outside (nice) and then... hell was loose! On the next 4 corners I dropped from 9th to last being punted in every single braking point both from behind as well as the side, even on the apex when you hit the gas! I think Frawe was the only one who pass me without saying "Hi!" (read: beat the **** out of my rear bumper)

Ok, no harm done, probably this is just "close" racing (:dopey: naïf, naïf) let's get back on track! On the first turn at lap 2 I managed to pass Frawe (we outbraked himself and end up wide of track). On the seconf left-right corner combination, I managed to get the guy in front of him who also missed the line and went wide off track. On the following section point I saw that I was behind the next guy by 7 seconds. I was surprised that on the last corner in lap 3 I managed to see him struggling for car control in the finishing straight so I went for a chase fast lap, as clean as possible to try and catch him which I eventually did. But when I passed him (on that tricky right downhill followed by a long left) right on the next double right uphill I was punted intentionally! I managed to regain position entering the last corner on that lap (aggressively I recognize! - but he had it coming!) and went on for last lap, however always fearing to be violently hit in the back every time I brake for cornering. I managed to finish 9th.

Anyway, I was quite frustrated from all the punting but I decided to give it another shot at Portimão. I reckon that I'm not yet too familiar with this track but I pretty much already get how to make that 3 right corners sequence at the begining of the lap. First turn went intentionally wide to avoid the mess on the inside but ultimately forced me to go off track to the tarmac on the fast turn 2. Then the hard brake for the turn 3 hell! To make it short I'll just say that when I finish that turn I was in 1st gear trying to detached from the Merc on the left who has spin out, and there was someone with its car front on my side and kept steping on gas, pushin me to the side. Then a third one from back.. BANG!--- BANG!.... BANG!... I simply left!

The guys I noticed weren't familiar faces (those were way at front) but I'm with arvore here. Private lobbies please. If you like to invite me in I'm all for it 👍. Open lobbies, no thanks... the AI is much better.

Ok I was wondering if I should ask this question or not(Ohhh Neil here he is...:P;):D but why do you guys keep playing always the same tracks-Imola,Monza,Mugello-

I have to say I was thinking the same thing myself. I know we race in Portimao now and again but the focus seems to be very clearly on the three tracks quoted. The irony is that, while they are all good tracks, Imola, Monza and Portimao are the three tracks that the cheating short cutters/wide runners have the most opportunities to do their dirty deeds!

I do like Mugello partly because it doesn't allow the same dodgy tactics and the same could be said about Kyalami, Valencia, Misano and Vallelunga. The likes of Varano, Magione and, to a lesser extent, Adria would be more suited to Karting events but it would be good to add more of these lesser used tracks into the mix.

I'll second the motion. lets widen the tracks we use. which ones are the most common and have been seen in other games? think if we start there then that should keep the race pace up.

Hey all,

I THINK WE CAN ALL agree that last night had some bad moments, as most of you saw there was at least 2 races that i had to pull off my car was so badly damaged : ( :(

When i first went online i joined a game Redgate was in hosted by those italian dudes in the Audi's.

They were purposely picking tight tracks in the wet so they had the advantage in the 4wd 's not too mention they were cheating punting bastards.

Anyway i left and set one up, in the hope the better players would follow.

Id just like to explain why when im hosting i pick certain tracks. As most of you know i tend to do a sequence and then re-do it in the wet... so its likely 1 in every 5 races is at the same track. for me personally Its not what tracks i like, its what tracks i KNOW. otherwise i would end up ruining peoples races. Im not avert that said to suggestions, in which case ill have to just lump it and soldier on LOL.

Despite the obvious did have some corking races, im defiantely getting the hang of saving my tyres lol.

Also yes that JAAAAG was a joke..... in fairness to some of the guys SOME accidents were a chain reaction from being punted themselves. All part of the first corner madness i suppose.

I have no issues with adding other tracks, just promise to wave when you lap me :) :)

Some of us are more familiar with Misano and Vallelunga as they appear in SCC but they differ in this game.

I'm not sure why we need to start with tracks that have been seen in other games though. We need to learn them all and the more we practice the more the tracks will reveal themselves to us.

How about from now on, Ill set up in Championship instead of quick race,

That way it will cycle through 7/8 tracks. Also we can have random weather.

Yeah?

Yeah, the championship idea would be good and once there are enough drivers available the private lobby would be the way to go. I don't think anyone is suggesting that we turn our back completely on the 'usual' tracks so they should be left in the mix.

for me personally Its not what tracks i like, its what tracks i KNOW.

We will never learn to know those other tracks, if we don't drive them :)

My thoughts exactly. People so often complain, that racing games always have same tracks. Now that we have a lot of new exciting tracks, so let's enjoy driving and learning them!

Is it okay to invite non-GTPlanet members to private lobbies, if they are known for good racing?

Yes, I meant to say that. I think it would be a good idea to bring more drivers into the fold once they have proved that they can behave themselves!

My problem is punters... not racing new drivers. As long as they are clean, they're welcomed. Otherwise...

Yeah?

Great idea that way we can run all tracks...👍 I like them all and despite I play very bad at some of them-Varano couldn't even win a race in legend...-if we stick to them for a while you'll end up knowing them so well as the others you play more often.I found the most challenging track in this game to be kialamy(even after the mine shaft chicane was erased from the course).
,but I think people will also Love Vallelunga and valencia.
About private lobbys i think is mandatory because if not some other regulars of this forum may leave discouraged by the driving of the paparazzi like hapenned yesterday with bullie and frawe:nervous:
Just to show the mentality of this guys I'll tell you this:
After you all left i received a message from one of the guys that were in your lobby(he probably thought I was Italian too due to my nick) inviting me to 1vs1...I joined his lobby after 5 races at Monza 2 laps each:drool: i asked him to change track which he did to Vallelunga,in the middle of second lap he was like 7 secs behind so he quited the lobby:nervous: I pm him asking what happened, never got an answer!!!!So I'll stick to racing with people I know and are also there to enjoy themselves...👍

:dunce: and to think that my best result in Legend was... 19th!

I'm in a sort of a limbo. If I play hard level, in Imola per example, I get easily pole position and gain a comfortable advantage of +- 5 secs from the rest of the pack in the race.

If in Legend level, the best I manage is to be 1 sec. behind the 18th position in qualifying session (1:47:xxx - pole usually is around 1:44). During race I manage to keep the pace of the back of the pack but overtaking... is a nightmare (never got above 16th and still, in the following lap some one would toss me out of the road)

Hey guys, I bought this on 360 and 'acquired' it on the PC but everytime I've tried to get some MP racing on the 360 version there hasn't been a single room open. You guys seem to have a pretty good thing going on the PS3, so I'm wondering if you think you are likely to continue playing MP for some time? If so I may just trade my 360 copy for a PS3 copy. Another question, is the deadzone in the steering present in the PS3 copy and if so has anyone heard of any plans to patch it?
