Picking the 135i as the car to get used to a wheel with, is like starting with differential equations if you want to learn maths
I used the Vette/Tuned and GTLM to learn the wheel. The best way to learn it is the hard way. 👍

My next goal is to get the Amuse in the 1'56's...

Yeah, definitely possible for 1.56 with the amuse. I was tweaking the setup got more out of it and didn't hit T1 that good. I could get it down 1.57.2xx and you could more I'm sure. Great Corvette lap.

In fact, the ACR just set the new production vehicle lap record at the ring with a less than stellar driver (7:22 IIRC).

Ummm less than stellar driver??? The driver happend to be Tom Coronel... a Dutch race driver who has a twin brother named Tim, that funny enough ALSO races..... and he' s not an average driver... no, correction he can drive pretty damn good, so I dont know where you get that assumption from?

PS- sorry its off topic.... but I just had to make a comment :)

Hope this works. I wasn't sure what files were needed so I zipped the whole folder that the ps3 dumped on my stick when I saved the file.

Art Morrison 'Vette btw, I would have posted it sooner but I been playing the new Ratchet and Clank all night :dopey:

People who mention their set up is a secret might not post as it reveals tyre choice and clues to gear ratios and other things.

Great laps, guys!!

Day 4- Shaved 0.4sec off my lap, but this is still 2.2sec off the lead time, frustration is rising little. Put in a couple joyride laps with the Corvette, went 2sec faster than when I did the same thing with a controller. Not leaving 135i until I can consistently run close to 2'23 flat.

Can I ask you a favour? Go and do some offline time trial in the BMW 135i (non Tii version), and tell me what your initial times were like, and obviously I bet you'll get 1st place after just a couple of laps, so then I can learn off your ghost maybe.:)

Edit: Oh, at Suzuka.

I did a few laps.. Managed to hit just under 23.. I left it there so there's your ghost to beat. ;) ...saw also that boys had had a run too.. Nice times on the board.. (MADFORCE, Hugo & Maffski)

Seems to be my double post day today.. I apologize. So I'm out for today..

Well, did you watch the video of the 7:22 run? :odd: He may be a skilled race car driver with great credentials, but his driving on the 7:22 run showed several obvious mistakes and flaws that cost several seconds. At least in my eyes. First off, you don't need to wind the piss out of the Viper V-10 to make power as he was doing. The Viper V10 has one of the broadest/ most linear powerbands out there, and close to peak torque at a very low rpm. He was banging off the rev limiter in 4th gear for several seconds (no exaggeration) going down the main straght, and was also blatantly bouncing off the rev limiter on many other sections of the track while also missing a gear on several occasisions. All of these mistakes in the course of just one lap. A lot of it was probably just unfamilarity with the car, but there was still a lot of time left on the table regardless...which was my original point when I said he was a less than stellar driver. Maybe it would have been better had I said less than stellar driving (not driver?). The Viper is geared pretty bad for the Ring, but that still doesn't explain why you should be on the limiter for as long as he was. His car control and ability to push were pretty good though.

N4HS......... just put in 5 laps at Suzuka in the 135i to log a 2'23.373, good for 8th. The ghost is there to compare data with your lap, Timmpaq's and the others laps.

Ok then its understandable how you came to your conclusions... I honestly have not watched the whole lap and I think I will now to see these mistakes... basically from what I hear from you, he couldve gone faster.. :) He drives WTCC by the way in a Seat Leon... He is also going to drive a Viper for another race team.... which is similar to this one but then a race version... :) Maybe he was having a bad day :nervous:

Confirmed clean lap; green flag time Timppaq. 👍

Forgot we have to watch yours as well to confirm. :dunce:

Thanks!!

Day 5- Gave up at 2'23.6, I lose around half a second at the hairpin and then some little more at the 2 corners after it, I got pretty good at the car though and kept up pretty well through the esses (dead even with Timppaq's half-assed attempt).
Day 6- Tuning for Togue 500, a car I can drive well and easily.

I've been looking for the Dutch Customs tune as a few people have set killer times with it, but I can't locate the right one. I looked in the same forum as the TLD and RVT garages but the tune for the 750pp Vette appears out of date and I get the wrong total PP.

Sorry for the inconvenience, could someone point me in the right direction if possible?

Thanks in advance, all the best

I suspect they use the 750PP Fuji tune or a downtuned 800PP HSR tune. :) But I'm not sure either. :P

there are 2 versions of the tuned vette in DC's garage , i used this one https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3007412&postcount=1
could be that you might get the wrong pp because it's out of date but i changed the R3's to R2's only for the back tires and lowered the back downforce to 25 for the extra power. Other than that is the exact same tune

Thought i'd try something other than the GTLM Testcar. I use to use the Z06 months back when i wanted something different from the 600pp F40 i was running so i thought i'd see what time i could do with a few tweaks. Its such a nice easy car to run around the course. I know i can improve on the time down to 1'58's on my current setup which may be the next appearance in my garage....but seeing the lack of challenge in the 'no abs' category...doubt it matters so much lol

Very nice :sly:

Since you did it for me, I'll wait for the update until I go improving my setups again :dopey:

Some more laps in the Z06 with shorter gears .. probably another .2 or .3 tops left for me!

Another improvement in the Viper..

1'57.712 RVT Viper Tuned (medium D/F) - Stotty

Not sure if I've done this right, but here's my first attempt at attaching a replay...

View attachment Stotty - Suzuka 750 Viper.zip

Regarding replays... I admit to being a bit of a computer dunce (it's an age thing!) and I'm struggling to get other peoples replays on to my PS3... when I try to open the attachments on this thread I get 'not a valid archive' box pop up. Am I missing something? Could someone talk me through the process simple step by step?

Cheers,
Chris

Edit: well looks like the attachment didn't work... not sure what I did wrong... perhaps someone would like to point me in the rigth direction.

I'm @ work but I did get to download your zip file from that link... Don't know if it works on ps3 though..

-Unzip the zip-file to your USB-stick. So you should now have "PS3" -named folder on your stick.
-Insert the USB-stick to PS3.
-Using the XMB, select game, select Saved Data Utility, select USB-storage device
-Scroll down to your Replay
-Press triangle & select copy
-Use the "Replay" option ingame

I hope I remembered correctly. :)

OK... Pretty sure that's what I'm trying to do, but I can't seem to get an unzipped file on to my stick...

If I right click on the zip file and 'extract to' my USB stick I get 'cannot open file: does not appear to be a vaild archive'

If I then check 'last output' I see... 'End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a Zip file, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part Zip file.'

I reinstalled winzip this morning from our central software hub, so I'm pretty sure that's not the probem... it's obviously operator error.

What replay are you trying to unzip? If it's Hugo's, then I believe his zip file is corrupt. Try another.

I have the same with the first 3 replays (also Timppaq's) that are posted in here. I can unzip my own again, but with the other 3 I get the same message as Stotty. Even after updating from Winzip 10 tot 11.2 and downloading the replays again. Pro's needed :dopey:
