I have never heard squeeky noises coming from the G25. Do you hear them all the time, or just during really excessive steering? So then nobody gets squeaky noises with the G25 wheel? Might have to take it back and get another.

When I hold the steering at a steady angle (not moving the wheel, but turning the car), it seems to make these little noises pretty often. I might just take it back and get it replaced to be on the safe side. I'm getting a tiny bit better with it though.
my g25 makes squeeky noises too. If i hold it at a set angle for a period of time you can hear it sort of squeek a little. I can do it outside of the game, giving the wheel two and a half turns and holding it, you hear a faint squeek. Rotate it all the way the other way and i hear the same. I just thought it was part of the wheel, my DFP made similar noises, and that wheel went through hell and still works perfectly fine.
Music to my ears, but if it dies just outside of warranty, I'll remember this moment.
Day 3- Shaved just over half a second off my 135i Suzuka lap time, not crashing much any more, things are looking up for this performance class. Once I get maybe within a second of 1st, I'll move up to my first V8 powered steering wheel experience, the IS-F.

I'm not sure if we can accept photos for verification.. from replay you could verify that it's driven at least very close to 750pp (straight line speed). What do you think? (Sphinx, what's your opinion?)
Chronos.. this is NOT meant to sound like I'd be doubtful about your laps. Just as a common procedure.. If we are verifying, let's do it right.

Screenshots have never been a valid form of verification and it's not something I would ever agree to. As I've already mentioned, supplying a replay for verification has never been easier.

People who mention their set up is a secret might not post as it reveals tyre choice and clues to gear ratios and other things.
👍
Day 4- Shaved 0.4sec off my lap, but this is still 2.2sec off the lead time, frustration is rising little. Put in a couple joyride laps with the Corvette, went 2sec faster than when I did the same thing with a controller. Not leaving 135i until I can consistently run close to 2'23 flat.
You're doing great, mate.. you don't need to push it though. Try to enjoy the wheel for the fun side of it and the time will drop eventually. 👍

Can I ask you a favour? Go and do some offline time trial in the BMW 135i (non Tii version), and tell me what your initial times were like, and obviously I bet you'll get 1st place after just a couple of laps, so then I can learn off your ghost maybe.
Edit: Oh, at Suzuka.
Agree with Timppaq... took me at least a month to get used to my wheel. I found it quite frustrating at first, and even now I'm still a way off the quickest time trail drivers... you'll improve gradually and incrementally, don't expect a 'eureka' moment.
oh, and I wouldn't bet too much on it..
Picking the 135i as the car to get used to a wheel with, is like starting with differential equations if you want to learn maths
I'm sure you'll get there in the end, but if you quicker would like to get acquainted with the wheel, I'd pick a car like the Evo IX, or change track and aim for the top times at HSR. Even an experienced wheel driver has his hands full going around Suzuka in the 135i, but I admire your persistancy
Also added the replay of my lap in the Vette.
