Not having much luck in my shakedown runs, best finish so far P2. This would make a good drifting contest on S2's. Thought the Viper would be good up the front straight but being outdragged by BMW Concept's. I will practice more!

The S2's work fine under the Viper. :) Yes: it's harder than with R3's, yes: you will probably need to adapt your cornering and braking, but I found they work rather well. 👍

What sort of lap-times are you achieving, if you don't mind me asking?

I was getting something like a 1'56 on an average lap in the standard tune with just my intended PP and gear settings applied.

Hope to start tuning tonight, should be finished tomorrow and will post the tune for TLD drivers to start practising.:sly: I must also add that when we get private rooms or something, I will upgrade my Viper to 650 PP and R3 tyres for a real experience.:sly:

I hope to god the S2s on the Viper provide more grip than the N3s on any 500PP car...

Hi H4S - I noticed you racing your 96 Elise in the 500pp yesterday - I'm trying to find a decent setup for mine. Do you mind telling me what you're using? I'm having a hell of a job trying to iradicate power oversteer, especially around the esses.

Nice effort by the way, you were way ahead of me until that final lap incident 👍

Hi, yeah I remember racing you. The Elise on those tyres is a real bugger to control. I haven't got a brilliant setup, I think my driving was more representative of me using the Elise a lot in time trials and also in the old 500PP events on slicks with more power, so I'm used to the handling pretty much.

Setup wise (from what I can remember - PS3 isn't on at the mo) the suspension is as low as it will go, F+R springs both at 4, F+R dampers at 1 (I like the Elise soft, it's more controllable). I've got the tiniest bit of toe-in at the rear to make it more neutral. About 1.0 degree of camber front and back, and steering lock of 35. On gear ratios, the final drive is set for a top end of around 152 or something (maybe even less) and I've shortened fifth gear as normally changing from 4-5 drops you out of the power. As far as PP settings go, my power is up to around 135, and weight is whatever your remaining PP will allow. Hope that all helps 👍

On the R3 tyres the Elise was brilliant - just a hint of oversteer in most places which helped me four-wheel drift around the corners, could pull out seconds through the esses even when I was in the lead and the rubberbanding was in effect.

Re: the Viper on S2s, it does seem to handle okay, but I'll definitely be looking to TLD for a good setup before the racing I think!

Thanks for the info H4S. I hadn't seen this before I started from scratch with the Elise, and have pretty much found the same settings. Gonna have to try that turn angle reduction.

I'm guessing it won't be very popular but I'd love to see GTP doing an Elise series. They can be frustrating, but boy is it satisfying when it goes right.

Count me in for the Viper showdown guys, I've got my Copperhead and White at the ready, and am applying TLD settings as soon as I'm finished here. See you later :)

Hey, seeing as I now have my Viper properly sorted would you be interested in some TLD sponsorship again? This time I really hope to get on track myself some time. I would have tonight but the internet crashed for several hours (which I used to make my Viper better ;) ) so I couldn't get online obviously. Imagine this time, tomorrow, 22hrs from now and I hope to be racing then.:)

^I've linked it on the first page, cheers. I would have before, but you hadnt fixed it then

TLD sponsorship back? Awesome. Although Im driving for NLxAROSA at the moment, it doesnt mean I dont still love your tunes man.

Yup, today at 7.00pm english time. Dont know if you lot down there can make it though? I might have to organise some earlier start times for you lot and any Europeans who play in the morning.

that makes things easier. It's 4am here at 7pm uk time. I'll try race today but if i'm not there it means i'm sleeping

Yups, i think i can make it there too ;)

Yeehaw, now all i need to do is learn how to race ;)
