Nice racing from all GTPers tonight and a few members here who don't have GTP tags (like myself!). I only made it into about three races after 8pm GMT but had a laugh in each. Timmpaq was bloody quick in each as usual! Good racing also with Ardius and GTP_NOS, and I think I was in the same race as j-pap too? Seem to remember him winning at least one!

I think my downfall is being ahead of people coming out of the final chicane, only for two or three people to get better runs and/or slipstreams and pass me a few tenths before the line...

i know the exact thing that happened. Was the race I won against you by 0.1 seconds. Wouldn't say it is a weakness for you though. To me it looked as if you took the corner a little conservatively since it was the final turn. Other times coming through that corner you seemed to do it faster which was clear since you were fighting for the lead.

The only reason I was able to get such a good run on you was because you took the final part of the chicane too open and couldn't apply the throttle or carry as much speed as what I did. Plus my move was a little desperate taking the inside onto the straight and driving half on the grass.

130R was a tight squeeze at the end in that race too. I had fallen back to third with timppaq leading and yourself second and slipstreaming off you while you were slipstreaming off timppaq. It was puerly luck who was going to win the race in the end.

Nice tot. time there we made... :) 7:20 My best race lap was 2:25:4
It´s mine... ;)

HAD to try one more thing.. was ok. NOW I go to 600 pp. At :15

2.25 race lap???? I can't even get that in Free run?? Nor can J-Pap with his L-tune, you must release your tune, it's not even possible to go that fast online, unless your like 12th place????

The fastest lap I have done online in first place is 2.29 in the TLD tune, It's unlikely that it is possible to do a 2.25 with that tune. Cmon, release your own tunes, they sounds like they may be pretty good:tup:

And give up his advantage.. you got to be kidding.. this is the whole point about tuning your car, done right and kept to yourself its a very useful tool

Bit unfair if it can shave four seconds tho... Believe me I don't make any mistakes and only get 2.29 with the TLD tune, it's like driving a Super Aguri Against Ferrari......Unless, do you use engine braking by shifting down early? It's the only thing I *could* do to go that fast.

I guess i'm not the fastest driving 500PP cars, I much prefer driving the hard to control cars of 750PP. I hate FF and 4WD, just too much understeer for my liking.

Thanks for last evening races! They were all fun!

Those times I posted, were done on 1 on 1 -race with Ardius. I got the pole and on the first lap I gained (if I remember correctly) +3.xxx sec. lead and for the 2 final laps it stayed between 3.3 - 3.7 sec. It sure helps not to have more people slowing you down, and it seemed like when I managed to make the lead +3.5sec, Ardius picked up his pace accordingly making possible for me to make better lap times. It seemed like the game wouldn´t let the gap between us go bigger than that. So I was kind of pulling Ardius behind me and when he got quicker, it made my car go quicker also. This is pure CRAP, I say. What´s the point to have such rubberband?

And I don´t use the engine braking more than just usual downshifting. So no hitting the limiter.

And I hope that if I don´t publish my tune, you won´t get mad... :) It´s not near perfect you know... and there´s no magic involved. Everybody can make the same changes to the car that I´ve done. It´s just a matter of will... Take it slowly and go step by step... 👍 I feel flattered if somebody feels my tune is good. I think it´s good for my taste and driving style. As I´ve said before, I won´t do any tuning in public, because I´m not interested turning into a tuning garage... Hats off for you tuners who have the passion do that, I really respect what you guys do just for other people to enjoy the game more! 👍 👍 👍

And Sphinx, You´ve got mail!! ;) Sorry for it taking so long..

..now I get back to work...

Cheers!

-Timppaq

Cheers mate, just wasn't too sure if I had to wait till next week to join even though it's a daily race. Well, now I know!

Thanks again!

Hello Ardius. Just wanted to say that I don't want to sponsor this event anymore, as I am withdrawing from all 500 PP races, and possibly 600 PP too yet. 🤬 tyre restrictions. 750 PP cars are officially the easiest cars to drive.

What about your Swift tune? Do you still want it linked here?

I will still be happy to provide tunes for this cup and/or other cups held in the future. Perhaps the sponsoring could be changed to whoever is providing tunes for a particular cup? Like 'Suzuki Swift Cup, sponsored by DCT, L-Tune and 888' or something like that.

Sponsorship is not really related to whos providing tunes, its just a fancy way of getting your name out there. For example, the different tunes represent something like different manufacturers/teams in a real world championship and the sponsor can be anybody or anything.

To use the Swift at all on 500 PP now is a joke. You will lose so much low end power, and have so much FWD wheelspin it will not even be close to fun to drive, oh and the understeer, BIG understeer. A car for 500 PP now is more like a BMW Z4, or a Skyline Sedan, hatches are now pathetically pointless.

yep I agree on Holden, think well see especially the 4WD version rule the lower classes. For me to, I'm switching to the 750PP Standing Start @ Suzuka Ford GT Tuned/ Viper Tuned of Corvette Tuned :)

Well I think this will be a 750 PP Cup soon. I'll be pushing very hard for a 750 PP Garage Showdown next, and if that's where this event gets its cars from.

PS- If we get back to R3 tyres again in this event I'm all for sponsorship again, but seriously- has anyone driven the Swift on the restricted tyres and boosted power yet? This also limits the variation allowed for the Garage Shwodowns. One of the biggest differences first time was that I used R3 tyres, and 888 used R2 tyres and more power.

750 PP all the way! I'm going to buy the Tuned Corvette in all its available colours.:sly:

I´ll do that for sure... nice to see how it handles... :scared:

Sadly, you are right Holden, although the events have been made more interesting now, its also limited what we can do in them. Still, I'm sure we will once again get used to it and find more ways of having some fun, good racing.

I suppose I will have to change the thread title temporarily.

Ok, after some consideration, and having a look at the latest tuning showdown, this is now a Viper cup! Those of you that still want to race the Swifts can still do so, as Ive kept the links for them. However, the main racing will now take place the same place as the tuner showdown, mostly because the tunes will be geared towards that specific track and also because this cup can serve as a practice for the showdowns.
No more racing for this week, as I think we all may want to get accustomed to the new events and rules, so the next Cup will start next week on Monday. This is also because we need to wait for the tunes to be created first!

Cool!!!! Viper SRT10 cup! I was hoping for somthing fast and FR like that, it suits my style :). I can't check out the update yet because i'm getting a DNS error, I can fix that in no time tho.

I saw your post Koseti/timppaq It's makes more sense how you got those times now, I really hope Poly remove Rubber Banding, this is supposed to be a Sim!!

EDIT:Still no tunes yet, i'll have to use my own Viper for tonight, may use more speed because of the long straight at Fuji.......I don't like Fuji, so now it's good car, bad track for me. Also you need to replace some of the 'Suzuki Swift' bits in the firstr post to 'Viper'. lol

I did........also, theres no official racing till Monday at the earliest because of the lack of tunes available.
If youre referring to the line "this was inspired by the tuner showdowns..blah blah"....then that doesnt need changing.

Expect the first tunes to arrive in a few days. I'd like to take a fair bit of time to get the settings right though. I'd rather have mine delivered a day later than rushing it and have a crappy ride.

Hmmm, seen the new events, a bit too many begginer ones, and why can't they do the restricted car events on Pro?? Also why restrict tyres for Fuji 600PP? I hate driving fast cars on S2 tyres!!!!! I hate understeer!!! I may exclude myself from this comp, but i'll try to get used to the S2 tyres......

Yeah, thats fair enough, I was only using Monday as a temporary date. I dont meant to rush any of you tuners, its just I didnt want to put a huge gap between events, people can still race standard vipers or their own tunes for now.

I run of default setups anyway, so I should be alright for tonight I may use a tuner setup when they come out though.

That Viper is difficult to drive in tight races, you can't hear the engine noice when others around you.Change to Tuned Corvette, that I can drive for months!:)

edit:my mistake,I thought this was 750 race,if 600 its easyer, back dont loose its grip so easyly(dont even go to 750pp).
