Won't be able to attend any more tests until the Media Day now!
Got some things to do and much work to catch up with. However, until then; drink a beer! :D

Oh, Daiba, I saw you asked a question about this. This list shows which car places are remaining 👍 There are 5 places for each car, so nobody is in the BMW and only 1 person is in the Mazda.

I don´t know why them Ford guys say the Focus is bad in the Rain !!
I gave them Golfs a hard run for their money at HSR-wet !!

I do think I have a great setup on the Focus though and it certainly has a straightline defizite too but I´m a Tranny Guru (atleast last season in the Mini :D).

At GV-East I did a 1:06.883 in the Race where smuffy picked the "Furi-unpicked"-Car xD

in one of the races i went from near the back all the way up to 4th just behind carb so i'm pretty strong in the wet

Sounds like you are basing your 'testing' off of your lap times in the VW compared to others in their car.

Not really the way to do it.

Audi + My starts = who needs qualifying
Don't be too sure about that, I could barely gain 1 or 2 spots off the line with mine. :grumpy:

So, what advantage are FF's still allowed to have?

VW:
+ makes up positions at start
+ unbeatable in the rain (which there is plenty of in TOCA)
+ faster corner speeds
+ doesn't understeer like 4wd usually does
+ better tyre wear
+ easier to drive (this one is subjective)

If you want to hand out the trophies right now, just say it and we can save ourselves the trouble of racing.

The problem is that you base your decisions on 1-lap speed. Once 5 laps are done in the race, the Golf will be superior in any case.

If you complain about top speed, then you also have to make the Golf slower in corners, i.e. adding a lot of weight.

Sorry, if this sounds bitter, but I'm not keen on racing an armada of VW's with no weapons whatsoever. Had that with the Volvo. Everything the Mazda did, the Volvo did a bit better. And here it's the same, just that the differences are bigger, because the concepts are different. Yes, it may be difficult to overtake a Honda or a Ford in the first couple of laps, but in the second third of the race, you're even and in the last third, the Golf will drive circles around FF-cars, especially in the hands of people like Smuffy and Yeratel.

Take a look again at the Cape Ring South times! Smuffy was actually faster in the Golf than me in the Honda. And now you're making the Golf faster?!?

+1. It's just like the Infiniti last year. 👎

FF's need to be quicker than the 4WD's and RWD's because of their inability to put the power down at the start, and because of huge (relative) tyre wear.

You said the golf just catches the FF's at the end of the straight. Is this a catch as in you were back on their tail/bumper, or a catch as in you were just matching them for speed at the end of the straight, but you were 4/5 car lengths behind?

If the first, then the car does not need a boost, as it shows that draft has cancelled out the effect of the other car accelerating first.

If it is the second then it could have a torque boost, but also take a weight penalty otherwise the VW will have the top 6 positions by turn 1 because of a far superior torque/weight ratio.

Seriously everyone is surprised at the VW being made faster? Furi is driving it remember.

(Seriously furi this isn't a good reputation.)

It's the Mazda that truly needs a boost thanks to its horrid tire wear, not the Golf...

I love how Furi is basing his upgrades on how he performs, and not on those with the same car.

that's why he tried to give the infiniti a boost mid season last season as he was near the back yet spurgy was winning everything in site

Incorrect. Totally. The thing struggled. I had spurgy messaging me about it every race, fox as well. But further testing revealed it wasn't needed.

The golf issue is that it cannot overtake on a straight. It gets destroyed. I can only barely begin to catch a FF, not even in draft. The changes don't make it a God on straights, FF still beats it. Basically every time there is a straight we will go backwards.

I will reply fully to your posts tonight, when I am on my laptop.

It's not as much 1 lap pace as it is whole race pace. I can run a faster overall lap in a few cars, but the vw is about the best car in terms of consistency of pace throughout the whole race. The boost isn't needed. I think the cars are pretty close as is. I tend to agree with snow that the VW has so many advantages already that it needs to be slow on the straights.

True, but at same time don't want too slow. Either way, I am flexible with this. Don't want a runaway championship.

Furi, perhaps you could consider equipping either the ECU or the Racing Air Filter?

^ Exactly, if you want to boost the VW, then it wouldn't be fair to ignore the BMW.

I am sorry for jumping in but.

So what? I can beat a Mustang with a Caterham 7 but it will lose heavily on straights even with slipstream.

True that.

Look, you picked it at the specs it already was, you pick the car best for you, not pick one then change it. Hell, you even got first pick on cars due to the bad timing of the spec release. You could maybe understand complaining about your car from someone else because of the stupid way you don't get time to test before picking a car but no, you've had plenty of time to test.

I'm already angry that I couldn't take a Golf due to a BS rule, make it faster and I'll just ignore that rule.

Edit: If you don't wanna runaway championship introduce the two-compound rule(so we won't be on RM's 100% of the time) and success ballast.

*Thinks back to people complaining of too much of one car... Points at top 6 at grand valley being six different cars...*
