Tandem Logic.

I'm a drifting veteran in GT5 and even I sometimes accidentally pull out onto the track at the wrong time and screw somebody up. It happens. I use bumper cam and the mini-map in the top left corner. Usually that's enough, but sometimes I slip up and get lazy.

Exactly. Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean your dumb.

You may be right but I doubt it, the title reads "tandem logic" not "drifting logic". One would assume this is about beginners to tandem.

As for some people comparing this to real life, its by far not a fair comparison. In real life you have a lot more to lose, the game, not so much.

People also have to realize that in public lobbies, most of the kids on there haven't touched a drivers seat, how would they know what's right and wrong, its just a game to them! Common sense doesn't take place unless they know or have experience, its not inborn but learned! I might know all the road signs in my country just by common sense but someone new to the country might not have that sense, its totally new to them!

Here's a tip though, if someone doesn't like it when someone else pulls onto the track carelessly, stop going to noob rooms, simple! Stick to rooms with like minded drivers, as I do, problem solved!

Yes, however would you not say that Tandem drifting is just drifting that requires very delicate control, so it's more like advanced drifting as I see it

True enough, but this is exactly what I'm getting at (I'll speak only for myself here). If someone doesn't understand the basics of driving a car, maybe they shouldn't be jumping straight into something more advanced like Tandem Drifting.
All we can do is tell people who don't check their mirrors and use basic driving skills like spacial awareness that it's something they need to work on
If you aren't told something you're doing needs improving you're less likely to figure it out on your own, y'know?

As for your tip, I would agree honestly. But it's driving with strangers that allows you to meet cool new people, so it's a kind of trade off.

The best thing I would suggest would be as above - calmly tell them they need to check their mirrors more often to be aware of their surrounding drivers.
also all this check your mirrors talk gt5 don't even have mirrors unless you in cockpit view which not many people use. I use hood view so obviously I have no mirrors.

I use interior view so I didn't realise hood view didn't have mirrors.
However, you do have a mini-map no? using that if anything you have more spacial awareness than those of us using interior view.

Exactly. Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean your dumb.

Absolutely, but when it happens multiple times in succession and the person doesn't learn, there comes a point where you have to speak up or leave silently. Unless you're a very patient person

As far as I can tell, this thread is meant to be about helping prevent accidents.. So how often they happen is irrelevant.

What point? That you can't drive? The last time I had an accident, in GT5 or Real life that was my fault, is over a week ago. Frankly, I've never had an accident that was my fault irl yet so...

Real life accidents are a whole different subject. And I can drive, why say I can't? Or are you speaking like in general terms?

Fair enough, but there's no need to be hostile about it. 👍

Eh, you know, rivalries. Plus things have been rough for me lately. I'll tone it down.

Really? Accidents are so obviously more common then you seem to believe in your little elitist world.

Totally agree, there's a reason why they call them accidents and not intentions . No one means to hit someone it just happens. Mainly when your in a room full of 12 year olds, I'd expect an accident at every corner, they don't have experience in avoidance.

I noticed you said you've never had an accident that was "your fault", I thought it was so easy to avoid accidents, were you on an off day? Like I said above, they're called accidents, not intentions! It happens to everyone if its there fault or not!

If you find a noob constantly creating chaos, it's time to either talk to them or talk to the host or just leave! Like I said, there are a lot of kids on the game too, they haven't adapted to "our" level of realism and professionalism yet. I just wished more people would label their room as "races for fun" when they want to screw around.

This is getting stupid. I am just blown away at these pointless stupid arguments that just won't stop.

It isn't just here in this thread but I just don't understand the drifting form lately.

Anyway sorry for the small rant. I could go on. But i am just un- subscribing a few threads

This community has went way downhill. Sorry, but if you are worried about getting hit/crashed do not come here complaining, go else where and drift by yourself. This is really getting old, but sorry this has to be stopped. There is no reason for these little word battles to be going around. Drifting is a sport meant to be fun. I couldn't imagine some of these people in real life, would you get out of the car and start a fist fight?

Now I would please like if a mod could close this thread because I see this going on for many more days. Also anymore of these threads will be reported by me.

Eric i don't think it needs to be locked.

It has just turned into a nit picking paradise.

All dom was trying to do was help. Forgive her for being blunt about what she says. Just they way she words things.

I think before people or anyone assumes the tone of a person's voice or how they meant something they said. Maybe ask a question figure out how they meant it. It takes two seconds to quote someone then say "what do you mean" or "can you explain what you mean further".

I think the thread should stay. There's nothing wrong with the OP. It is 100% common courtesy and common in every day society.

I understood the OP. If some didn't ask.

Main problem, in my opinion is:

The OP wasn't really a whole thread worth. It is a good advice? Yes, totally! No doubt about it, but... it would be the OP and then what? See what i mean?

Obviously, there are solutions in order to keep the thread, like, opening it to collect all the drift and tandem tips, etc... well, my opinion.

If someone forgets to check their mirrors once, it's an accident. If they never check them, I don't call it an accident.

Sometimes you can't help it if someone crashes into you. Someone swerving into your lane head on for example...

That's exactly what would help. Or just kids growing up with a bit of sensitivity. :s Or their parent's not letting them online 'till they are mature enough.

I'd say if you get to drift 6 or 7 corners out of 10 without being smashed into, you have nothing to complain about. Now if you only get to drift 1 out of every 2 corners because someone keeps messing you up, then you should leave the room and create your own and kick people who offend you.

Lol, you're kidding right? Once in five laps is acceptable lol.

LOL the irony is strong with this one...

Expecting everyone to only make 1 mistake every 5 laps is just unrealistic, and asking for frustration from a public lobby. I've seen the most precise drifters have an off-night. I don't care who you are, you've had one of those nights... Blame it on the alcohol.

Point is, a lot of the problems in the OP can be simply solved by politely asking the person to, ie. check behind them before pulling back on the track or get on the brakes a bit earlier etc.

There's a BIG difference between public and private drift lobbies, and I'm not sure who this thread is targeting. Don't people who only make one mistake a week usually drift privately with other people who only make one mistake a week?

Being considerate isn't tandem logic... It's just logic for life in general.

I don't mind the crashes sometimes, they make the drifting fun but as long as they apologise and get going on with the drifting I'm cool with that 👍

If people tend to start crashing more in a particular lobby I just normally wait at the pits to see if there are any other tandem groups going around the track and then join them instead.

You can't do that either.

Just out of complete curiosity: What relevance did that have to this thread?

Clearly you're just here to piss people off

How is it relevant to the thread? Like i said, this thread has got everything it should. There is nothing else to add to the OP. Everything that get posted will be irrelevant, UNLESS, it gets a new title and updated OP, in order to make it more general.

Because apparently:

More crashes = less tandems

Less crashes = more tandems

Say what? lol

Is there any sort of amount of tandem? No man... how often someone crashes it very irrelevant to the thread, or the OP, once the OP is just a post by itself, that has a conclusion and closes the thread itself.
