I hadn't seen it, but I had heard the same guys was building one with a (I think) 1.8tsi engine.

He's clearly mad

Yep 1.8 450bhp and 4WD

One of my mates tried to do something similar thing back in the early 90's.

Vauxhall Nova with the engine and running gear from a Saphire Cosworth. Unfortunately he never really got it handling properly, but it was hilariously fast in a straight line.

I hammered the '61 DeSoto pretty hard elsewhere and was looking for a nice shot of a standard '60 to compensate when I found this one. Lowered just a tad, good tire/wheel ratio, and the right sort of spoke count.

And that gorgeous front end was left alone.

I never knew I needed this until now but I need it.

Probably the meatiest rears I've seen on a T3 intended for the street. It's difficult to go big on these cars--Ghias as well--without it looking really odd, but someone surely managed. They appear to be something along the lines of a 195/70 or a 215/65. Hard to go wrong with Fuchs as well, even if they're getting to be like TE37s and BBS RSes.
