Not quite, it's more of a Cresta replacement.
Of the JZX triplets, the Chaser was the sporty one, the Cresta was the luxurious one, and the Mark II fell somewhere in between, for both the JZX90 and 100 series, both commonly seen in Gran Turismo over the years, both also largely used in the drifting community.
But when Toyota switched to the 110 series they ditched the Cresta and Chaser.
The Mark II went full Corolla in its styling
And the Verossa was the crazy weird one.
