TCV5 HURRY THE HELL UP thread

And if GT5 is ANYTHING like GT4 where the only thing that mattered from GT4P was the licence tests, all your GT5P tuning is going to be wasted. :sly:

Besides, you'll need all the headstart you've currently got Paulie when MFT, RRV, ETZ, shogun & GME all come aboard the GT5 train and take you to school. :P:D

Not to mention the other tuners (like mcsqueegy & MadMax86) who will end up dominating with me on the Top Gear Test Track 1/4 mile.

Where did I say anything about carrying over cars? I meant that I am more adept at tuning now than I ever was in GT4. I fully intend on deleting my save file from Prologue before starting GT5. Additionally I couldn't care less when you all arrive at GT5, the GT4 notion of one garage being better than another is an old hat way of thinking, clearly you especially will have trouble adapting to the "new world". And lastly, my Prologue work going to waste? No, I've supplied hundreds of people with tunes they needed for online racing, and they've provided all the feedback and thanks I could ever hope for. Have fun on the 1/4 mile in GT5.

Since you got all cut up over what was CLEARLY a jesting set of comments, I'm going to make it serious.

Never said you did.....but we do know that driving GT4P didn't equate to being great in GT4. GT5 will be a similar case. :)

Whatever dude. I never had trouble adapting to ANY GT in the whole series, GT5 will be no different. How will I PERSONALLY have trouble adapting....please explain and I'm all ears on this one. And WE never cared about Aussie tuners, that's why you ran to GT5 in the first place, we were whipping your ass.

What a way to blow your own horn. As for HUNDREDS of people, I'll  at that but whatever.

Have fun on the 1/4 mile in GT5.
I will, along with the other drag fanatics. Have fun watching my back bumper.

You're right, because it's impossible to figure out which is best when there's about 5 bajillion different garages.

Further, with the PP system and the EXTREMELY limited tuning options there is only so much one can do anyway. Spring rate isn't well defined (nor precise), ride height is not well defined, dampers are 1-way adjustable, there is no sway bar adjustability, so on and so forth.

The ONLY spot where GT5:P has an advantage over GT4 in terms of adjustment is the toe angles; everything else is imprecise in comparison and generally lacking. So really, I think you guys will be the ones in for a shock when GT5 comes ;)

Thankyou for that RJ, that's what I'm getting at. GT5P DOES NOT = GT5. You can tune all you like in Prologue, but it won't represent everything that GT5 is.

As long as GT5 allows for proper roll-overs and tires leaving the pavement due to forces acting on the car I'll be as happy as can be because finally things won't have to be done "oddly" to say the least as in GT4. And our drag cars will be very much just that; I look forward to daylighting the fronts.

Since you got all cut up over what was CLEARLY a jesting set of comments, I'm going to make it serious.

Oh sure, make out like you weren't trying to act all high and mighty (like always) then when it turns on you make out it was "jesting comments".

Unless they change the physics for GT5 (entirely possible and probably even likely), I certainly have PLENTY of practice hotlapping in GT5. I'm not the fastest in the world, but I'm not the slowest either

I wasn't talking about adapting to physics, or adapting to tuning with the new physics, I was implying that you'll still be going around claiming "I'm better than you at this", "I rule at doing that", and people will just look and proceed to ignore. The reason I went to GT5 had nothing to do with Aussie Tuners, and everything to do with the fact that GT5 has online racing, it has better graphics, better physics, lots of people to race with. Why would I want to hang around in GT4 with you anyway, you're horrible company to keep.:P

I will, along with the other drag fanatics. Have fun watching my back bumper.

Why would I be watching your back bumper when I won't even be on the drag strip in the first place is what I was implying. I don't care for drag racing at all.:odd:

@ RJ - Here here.

Now that we've got that GT5 🤬 out of our systems, let's concentrate on what we're here for....who will win TCv5?? :mischievous:

And congrats on the 92 with the Spirit R bro. 👍 It looks like a tight two horse race between your car and Adamgp's Shelby.

Paulie.....I'm not going to respond, because it WAS a jesting comment, otherwise there wouldn't have been so many happy/sly/razz emoticons, it would've been a straight comment that I AM BETTER THAN YOU.

And there's no high and mighty about it......I AM ONE OF THE BEST on the strip. I'm not saying I'm #1 (well...I am in AWD). It ain't cockyness if you can back that 🤬 up.

As for you not being on the strip, that's okay.....I'll just whip your ass around a circuit instead. :P MAY is my target because him and Rudi Raser are the standard when it comes to GT5P driving, so I'll be targetting their times, which I KNOW will take a LOOOOOOOONG time to match. :sly:

Well then, perhaps I owe an apology for reacting the way I did, but you'd owe me one for talking down to me the way you do.

If you can match MAY and Rudi around the tracks I'll be , but if you want to look for the highest standards GT5:P has to offer look for Timppaq and holl01 as well, since they're essentially the fastest drivers in the world nearly all the time, and that's NO exaggeration, any driver from GT5:P will back me up on that. I can back my reasonable pace with consistently quick times in Division 2 (out of 5) in Weekly Race Series, that's not "ZOMGoodness he's quick!" fast, but it's not bad.:)

Come on now ladies don't get ye bloomers in a bunch now!!!:sly:

I'm sorry if you took offence Paulie, as I said it was ALL in jest. 👍

I've been watching what's been happening in ROC since Round 1, and yep, holl01 would be right up there aswell, aswell as Timppaq. But the finalists are who they are so they became the targets. :sly:

That's the one thing I can't diss Paulie, your driving has improved A LOT since you did move to GT5P, not saying you couldn't drive in GT4 either but you have moved up the lists consistently since you joined the WRS (I've watched your ranking rise. :P).

zed300, there's a lot more traffic in GT5P forum than there is in GT4 nowadays, 70k views in 10 months doesn't surprise me at all. :)

All good.

I don't really follow ROC, but holl01 (Dan) got DQ'ed from a couple rounds didn't he? I can't remember, but I have little doubt that holl01 is in the top 3 drivers in the world right now of the active drivers, not just GTP. Only guy I've ever seen beat him is Takeuchi01 from Japan (I think that was his name). I do honestly think the number of people who have used my tunes in the past runs in the hundreds now on GT5:P, but I can't provide proof, other than the views and posts from different users in my garages. A high percentage of people don't post about using my tunes, I know this for fact being in the race chats and all.;)

you're missing SOMETHING.., and SOMEONE.., *cough cough*

make that Yet Another Drama. :P

I have no difficulties in tuning the cars for GT5P to my liking since they finally feel like they react logically and instantly to even small changes. While I might not be amongst the fastest on the fast tracks like Fuji or Suzuka, on Eiger, however.. I'm tough opponent to beat when I'm in my Evora. :mischievous:

Besides, everyone knows that drag is for :censored:s, real men attack corners. :sly:

Quite simple C-L.

Pick Car.
Race.
Win.

And if you don't like concepts, don't worry about other good cars like the Solstice. ;)

Me neither. Honestly, how do people expect us to drive cars like that?

I'm with Codename L+ on this one, although probably for a different reason. Part of the way I "get into the game" is by reading those specs. If I don't have any specs (specifically garage specs with both torque and power) I usually ditch or sell the car. It REALLY BOTHERS ME that PD filled the game with dozens of these "no spec" mobiles. 👎:yuck:

But so far as concepts go, I also like the Viper Concept, even tho it's more difficult to drive than a regular GTS.

I have to say, i agree with you there. I really don't like big american cars which oversteer and understeer at their will. I like my cars to steer like i want them to, But the Viper is different, I won one of these beasts from a race from the American hall, and boy was it fun having the tail running away at every corner, only to come back perfectly at the end. And like you said, harder then the GTS, but a ******g lot more fun.

I see that the judges are working overtime to get the reviews done, and max. respect to them, I usually feel lazy to review a single car, let alone 20-odd cars for each category... 👍

Ahh, but it's one of the most rewarding american cars in the game. It can easily clock Costa Di Amalfi in under two minutes with S3 tires. 👍

how about most surprising American car, the Chrysler Crossfire and 300C? Granted, they're Mercedes Benz's underneath, but..

I've sat there in the GT5:P Java Chat for hours on end watching the comparisons between the guys (just they were silly enough one time to discuss WRS times on there.....) and the same group are there talking and comparing all the different tunes and organising online races. :)

you're missing SOMETHING.., and SOMEONE.., *cough cough*

I'm sorry.....add RZA aswell. :P

I like the way we implemented drama into another TCv5 ^^.

make that Yet Another Drama. :P

 Wherever TC's go, drama usually follows.

Those ARE fighting words. ;) And you're incorrect aswell with it, only real men can tune for the 1/4 mile AND the corners. :sly: I see RJ, MadMax86, mcsqueegy, Codename L, myself.....

I don't see you in that category. :P

Real tuners attack the strip, because that's the only guaranteed way to know one tune is better than the other one. No more skill needed, only knowledge. :sly:

I have been included in the Fantastic Four group of the 1/4 Mile...? Silver Codename and the Fantastic Four? :D

Just to inform a particular member (Adamgp), your score has been re-adjusted as some irregularities were found from the scoring of your car. As a result, your car has actually got an 84/100, not an 86 as was first posted.

On behalf of the judges I can only apologise for the drop in score and hope it doesn't affect your mood. :)

On the positive, you're still in 2nd, but now tied for 2nd with KoW. ;)

Meh...I KNEW i could've set the Clio up to be more agressive in it's driving habits, but i had a talk with MIKEY BE about it and decided to set all of our TCV5 entries up to be more "Driver-Friendly" (Under the assumption that what might be acceptable driving manners to me might turn off the Judges...)...

Still, i'm learning a lot about the Tuning world of GT4 all the time and the Clio's still tied for 2nd place, so...*Shrugs* Plus i've already got a couple of cars in consideration for TCV6! :)

J/K, I'm still in 2nd, so thats ok.

I apologize bout that. Middleweight was hard to figure out cuz there were so many entries. Heavyweight should go much smoother. Again I apologize profusely.

I don't see you in that category. :P

all you need for quarter is well setup diff, correct tires and suspension that can deliver the power to the road, and of course, some decent power. :P no need to think about overall balance, how car will behave when weight shifts repetitively from side to side, or how the car will deal with acceleration/deceleration AND turning, or whether it's able to power out from hairy situation..

but, never the less, I'm eagerly waiting for the rest of the results.

I don't mean to be mean or something, but you make it sound too easy. If it was that easy, having the fastest GT-R on the world wouldn't be a big deal. I would want to see the tuning garages put a GT-R as fast as mafs' on the Strip. It's much, much harder than people think. On the track, skill plays a big part to set times. Take holl01 for example. What I consider my best on a track, he could probably break that time by two or three seconds. On the quarter mile, however, driving skill doesn't matter so much (launching and shifting only, and it doesn't make much of a difference between drivers), but rather tuning skill. :)
