TCV5 HURRY THE HELL UP thread

Hey in.s@ne, what's happening with your test of the stratos?? It looks weird having all except one having two sets of scores in Lightweight. :)

Got a major essay due, then I'm away on the weekend farming, so time is limited. Maybe Sunday night? No guarantees though, depends on my exhaustion/homework level

Just give it a quick 10 lap blast....it should give you more than enough info. That & the write up should be about 30 minutes tops. :) It's what I'm doing with my judging and it's given me plenty of opportunities to check it's versatility while getting a few hotlaps in. ;)

Hope your essay gets good marks though. 👍

Okay guys...Heavyweight is about to be thrown up.

Mafs if you're around, please give me a couple hours of fine-tuning all the scores before you place them up on the Leaderboard. :)

Nice judging as usual Parnelli, and congratulations to Roj for his impressive M3 score.

This.

Sent a PM to Parnelli about a few things on my car but I already know I'm not going to find much from it and certainly not going to chase down that insane little M3 that is... Ah hell it's behind me now. *moves over to let the M3 by*

Okay mafs. RJ wants me to do a retest, and I agreed (tho I struggled to get the lap that I did in the Charger)...but you can otherwise put all my heavy scores up on the Leaderboard.

Wow i can't believe i managed the score i did with the Mazda 6, i woulda been happy with a 30 hahaha. :D

Oddly enough though, the mazda 6 used by PB looks different from mine. Let me post it up later when i get home. Might just be me...

I looked at your laptime Parnelli and to tell you the truth, I'm slower than you so I'd disagree on this retest, sorry RJ.

My only gripe is you LOST on +10 with SuperClubby......what are ya, drunk??:P I'll try and video a +10 demolition with it later tonight after my scores are posted.

Just doing the write up now, and I'm very close with all of Parnelli's times except for Adamgp, he must know how to drive that car better than me. :embarrassed:

Not my fault Parnelli has a good bit of experience tossing around the old boats. :P

Also, it's just a shift pattern issue, it's probably not going to make much difference either way but I do feel the car gets a bit shortchanged on feel and responsiveness when not wound out correctly.

When I say slower, I'm only meaning by less than 0.4sec there RJ. ;) So basically the same speed as him. And I personally tried two different ways of shifting, low revs (like my superclubby) and high revs (like a NASCAR!). :)

That's why I'm disagreeing, but all will be revealed soon. Just totaling scores as I type this. There was a couple of shocks but I will happily reveal on here that NONE of the cars in heavyweight lost against the Battle Monster. 👍

Alright you little monkeys, my heavyweight results are up. 👍

Congratulations to kingofweasles for an almost perfect 97/100!! My top 3 were:

1. kingofweasles
2. adamgp
T-3. VtiRoj & drifting24/7

Good efforts all around you guys. 👍

I found this to be one of the slowest of the bunch under acceleration and speed, struggling to top 230km/h down the straight. Combine that with a truckload of wheelspin and it hampered its ability to be quick all the time. I don’t know why it doesn’t go like it should for the power figures provided but for some strange reason it wasn’t as fast.

Aerodynamics and the gearing. The short final and tall transmission ratios mean it's doing quite the opposite of my FD and Es tu que (and STi for that matter) and it's an absolute brick at high speeds.

Ah well. The car is not anywhere near the caliber it needs to be for this competition, but then there's no way to make 1960s live axle cars running 1960s tire widths corner like modern sports cars.

True, but I didn't think there would be such a difference in times with your car RJ.

Onto supercar judging I go.

Why thank you. :D

Also I've just realised, I've missed out the carbon driveshaft on both Beemers too. :dunce: Someone has been stealing my driveshafts! :grumpy: This is what I get for using the NSX-R's sheet as a template. :ouch:

So my M3 is looking to be my highest scorer so far then, I'm happy. :) I wonder how my CSL does...

Well RJ made a pretty good case, which got me curious. I'm granting him 10 extra laps. That's it. If I can't get a lower time in 10 laps using 2nd gear and revving high, I gotta move on.

Not sure what you're talking about here .

EDIT: OH! The +10 race. The way I did races was to just try them once. Restarts only happened if there was some major punting (either on my part or the Ai's). So I sure could have won that race, but some unexpected events occured...

What happened was: I got caught behind a couple cars which rammed each other into Turn 1/lap 2, and somebody (forget who) was way in the lead by that point. I didn't have any room to maneuver by the 2 cars that slammed, I was right on the tail of them. So one of them got a good solid 2nd place while the other one lagged behind. I passed the lagging car (whatever it was...an ASL or a Tommykaira, something like that), but it took me the rest of the race to catch the 2nd place car. I was pretty close towards the end, but couldn't quite make it. :guilty::(

Just doing the write up now, and I'm very close with all of Parnelli's times except for Adamgp, he must know how to drive that car better than me. :embarrassed:

Early brakes. The rest falls into place if you brake early.

It wasn't that with adam's car, I braked at the right times, I just couldn't get the corner speed in some areas that you were. But I was quicker with KoW's Spec-C. :P

Wasn't expecting my Viper to do as good as it did. Both mafs and PB seemed to like it too.

Parnelli - You are right on about the early braking on my cars. 👍

I prefer the slow in fast out driving style. For most cars at most tracks, I do 90%+ of my braking before I even reach the corner, get the car rotating through the corner, and I am usually 100% throttle again at the apex. :dopey:

Seriously adam, it was going to be #1, but then I drove the wonder that was KOW's Spec-C and his car was last to be driven while yours was the 4th car driven in my list. After TCv5 is over, I will be testing the longevity of the tyres with that tune in a few longer races against some real hard competition......not enduro's though. :) If this keeps up and the final battle winds up with your two cars running head to head, I'm not sure if I could pick a winner.

There wasn't too much I could fault, I just couldn't match PB's time. :embarrassed: Otherwise you might have got another point, but the gap between 1st, 2nd and T-3rd was so great it would make no difference to my result.

It's all just a massive conspiracy to keep my out of first place I tell ya. :P

Not sure how the tires would hold up, but I didn't build it with that in mind. S3 tires don't usually last long for me on any car no matter what the setup.

Ummm....I was meaning testing KoW's car for longevity, not yours adam. :)

But I suspect yours will go alright aswell, it didn't sound like a tyre killer and I wasn't wheelspinning everywhere (like I did with superclubby, that's what I get for stuffing nearly 750Nm into it!) so I suspect yours would kill the fronts rather than the rears.

D'oh! I knew that. :P

Most likely the fronts would go first on mine. I purposely set my cars up to be more on the side of understeer. Just my preference and what fits my driving style.

Ditto with my tunes, they are more neutral but if you push too hard then understeer will inevitably occur, like most normal cars.

Also, just to let you all know, I've put the progress scores up for Heavyweight so get your fix at the usual spot. It looks like a quick jump ahead for Roj, KoW & adamgp, they take the top 3 so far.....

Hi everyone,

Just to clarify that the Mazda Speed 6 i used in my heavyweight entry was a MAZDA Mazdaspeed 6 '05 - the one you get from the club man cup.

Not sure whether everyone got the right car, if you did, my apologies :D.
