Could you do a BMW CSL '03 drifting setup - I don't see this anywhere :)?

Sorry for double post.

Try my normal M3 tune on it. They are the same car so it should work the exact same. Just your car will have more power.

I've had a crack with you 86GT tune and 14000 was as high as I was getting so I played around a little as I found the gearing a little too short for my likings and it really didn't want to drift in 6th. I added more camber to try get it spinning more then gave a little more top speed to your transmission and I'm now up to 15500.

Give this tune a try and let me know what you think. Everything is the same as yours except what's below:

(trans is identical to yours but once I set it to your setting I added 2 clicks to the top speed to add 20kph extra)

Transmission
1st: 3.924
2nd: 2.908
3rd: 2.359
4th: 1.957
5th: 1.653
6th: 1.427
Final: 4.200
Top Speed: 112

Suspension
Ride Height: -20/-20
Spring Rate: 13.0/5.5
Extension: 9/5
Compression: 8/4
Anti-Roll: 5/2
Camber: 3.2/8.0
Toe: -0.40/-0.57

haha ya that's the range I was getting in too. I think my max was 15000. The tune was designed for the car with no engine upgrades or weight reductions, but I added them after just for fun and the tune still worked.

I will try these settings soon. One thing is your transmission may be messed up because you are supposed to set the top speed than the gears than the final. Any other adjustments should be to the final gear. Since you moved the top speed after it usually changes everything set, but we will see how it goes.

Yeah I realize it changes the gear ratio but I was looking for a slightly longer 6th gear for the left hand sweeper. I was hoping with the extra rear camber the rear would spin up a little easier in higher gears.

Seems to work for me but buggered if I know where to make up the extra 5000 points lol

You should of raised the final gear. That would of stretched all the gears for more top speed without messing them up. Either way tho I'll see how it goes.

Ya the amount of points some people get are insane. I have no idea how they get so high. The other drift seasonal my friend literally gave me his speed 12 and tune and yet I am like in top 400 with it while he is in top 20. So it's just about knowing the course perfectly.

I should have but 2 clicks on the top speed was easier lol. Bare in mind I really had no idea what I was doing, the theory was more camber = less friction = more wheel spin from under powered car lol.

I watched the replay of the top drifter and my lines weren't too different yet didn't score as high. I also noticed he was drifting between 3-4th gears no higher where as I'm trying in 5-6

They say GT5 works by you get more points the higher the gear you are in. I have somewhat found this true, but was also drifting in 3-4 gear and go the same amount of points as when I added more power and drifted in 5-6 gear. So I am not really sure how it works. Also the key is to follow the driving line and keep a smooth angle the whole time. I also find my drifts look the same as the top people most of the time, but are always less. I really have no idea how to drift perfectly for points. I just try to do my best and hope I place high over all lol.

Yeah I made it up to around 480th so I'm happy, and only about 1000 points away from making the leader board. Just wish I had more time to play. Either way I'm having a ball with drifting, I was even screwing around with the dodge Laramie around autumn ring lol

I'm the newbie at drifting but watching where and how I got/get points it seems to be a combination of the line on the course and your speed with a higher speed giving more points. By speed I mean the cars forward motion not the gear your in and how much wheelspin your generating.
Still find things about it frustrating, like there was one sector on the Eiger drift for the last set of trials that you could generate good points by basically just following a tight racing line and not hanging the tail out at all but if you were a bit wide you could round the corner nearly sideways and not get any points at all.:odd:

TUNER COMMENTS:

Ok this car is solely for the purpose of the new drift seasonal. I won pretty easy. I originally didn't have the engine mods or weight reduction, but I had to put them on to see what the car could really do. The answer is pretty much the same scores lol. It is a lot easier to get higher scores when the car is maxed out tho. If you want you could use it for normal drifting as it does drift it's just a little strange to me. Hopefully you all beat it.

Thank you shmogt i will try this when im near my ps3 :)

Ya this is the topic of debate a lot when it comes to drift. I have found faster the car is moving is better for points, but other times I have gotten way more points and been going very slow just taping the gas.

I think it might have something to do with where your rear wheels are compared to the line. I noticed that when my rear wheels are following the line and basically on it I would score the most points.

Like I said earlier tho it's still really strange overall. My drifts look exactly the same as other peoples and yet they get a considerable amount of more points. It has to be something very small down to the detail that makes the difference.

I tried that out and the cars works excellent for me to drift in.
I'm gonna check out some of the other tunes later on for sure!

Excellent. I'm sure you will find the rest of the tunes just as enjoyable.

I'm sure I will!

Just found the VW New Beetle RSi '00. - will there be a tune in the future for this car or is there already one? :)

Edit: I tried the BMW M3 tune on this - with a few changes tho. Let me just say i'm sure theres a better tune, but I can drift it a lil' bit :P

lol nice at least the car has potential

Very good, after ages hooning around at the 'ring it finally made sense. :D
ya I am going to try the settings the other guy listed and see if it makes it better or not
Can you make a drift setting for Audi RS 4 '01

I will check it out

Ok I tested this out. I found it to be more or less the same. However a little bit easier to drift around. I will change the settings of mine since I did improve score with less practice.

I ended up going back to your trans setting and moving the final gear to give me 200kph and it became a little easier again but still not getting higher than 15500. I'll call it a day at that I think lol

Edit: ok so had another crack, I removed the spoiler (no idea if it made a difference lol) and just kept trying. It's getting frustrating so I tried to see how fast I can get through the course and started attacking it lol. It seemed to work too as I'm now up to 16651 which gives me 281st place. Now I'm really annoyed as I'm only 130 odd points off reaching the ladder :banghead

lol ok. I beat it and did ok so I'm done trying anymore personally. I think it's better without a spoiler, but I really have no idea. I don't think it matters too much because air isn't really hitting it since you are going sideways. The faster you enter a corner the better your drift will be in terms of points. Even tho it's sector I still drift the entire thing since it's easier to get bigger points when you enter a corner already in a big drift. Try lowering the front anti roll bar by a bit and see if it makes a difference. I find the car to roll sideways slightly weird and not as smooth as I would like. The roll bars should make a difference.

Nice this made it alot easier for me :)

Now I'm not asking for you to tune it (feel free to, of you'd like ), but do you think a 300c would be a good drifter? And if so, where do I start?

I have this car in a pearl white and I love driving it because I always looks like a boss. Pearl white and chrome everything else makes it look awesome. I tried so hard to make it into a race car, but it just has too much torque I can't get it perfect yet. I was thinking about making it into drift as I am sure it will be easy considering that's all it does with a race tune on it lol. I don't know where to start on it really without trying it myself for drift. I would say lower it and stiffen the suspension and dampers etc to the point where they are pretty high. Most heavier cars drift better with stiffer suspension because when they turn the weight needs to slide instead of be absorbed by the springs.

I have two race tunes in my garage (need to update them) , but it always wants to brake free, so that's why I was asking about a drift tune :dopey:.

I will try with what you said and let you know how it turns out 👍

big cars driftin look so awesome, just been working on an Ausi RS6 Avant drift tune and the replays mesmerise me, not coz of my drifts, just how right big cars look goin sideways

Mini Mini Cooper S Countryman 2011

Mini rally tune! This is a really weird tune as it is a mini that is FF lol. It does not have any power sliding ability and drives more like a normal race car on the road. If you are not good at rally and want to get into it I think this car would be a good choice as it gives you the feel of rally without making it too difficult. There is a slight learning curve with this car as you brake before the turn and hit the gas harder than a normal rally car. Try to always follow the driving line and don't worry about any fancy drifts around the corners. Give it a few laps and you should get the hang of it. I tried it on dirt and snow and works pretty much the same at either, but snow I find a bit more fun. One thing that is really cool is when you put dirt or snow tires on it the rims change to special OZ rally racing wheels.
