I am so disappointed this doesn't support the thrustmaster t500 rs. I upgraded to the thrustmaster from the g27 and now can't play this game. Has anyone tried it with the thrustmaster? I'm tempted to go buy the game on the ps3 and try it.

From Thrustmaster staff on the T500 Facebook page: "it's not fully supported yet. We're in touch with the game's dev and we hope there will be a patch fixing this at some point."

There is an user with the T500 and the TD Ferrari bought, and he says the game recoignice the wheel as an standar controller.

Will Fanatec CSR support be added?

Fanatec CSR wheels, don´t use the Logitech G25 drivers on PS3?

Better still, went to buy a T500RS on Ebay a few days ago, the guy lied about the weight and tried to charge me £100 for postage, I told him to take a hike to he reported me!

Some people.

Meanwhile, just sent off another email to Atari customer services, after they said someone would be in contact within 48 hours, 4 days ago, I think that gives them enough time to get in contact so I will now chase once again.

I fail to understand how a refund can be so much hassle.
Don't wast time, tell these Atari fools you want your money back NOW or you sue them with your advocate and consumer association.

You can always re-buy the game once they actually provide what people pay for.

The 512 Pro Champ was an exhausting length of time. It wasn't particularly hard in terms of AI difficulty, but that 512BB...

I just completed Season 79. The fact that it tosses you from the easy-to-drive 308 GTB right to a time attack with an 1979 F1 car on Spa 1980.. which I had no practice on. Completely just tossed me around mentally.

This is one hell of a good game though. I seriously don't regret my purchase.

But the 288 GTO Champ awaits completion before I have to go to work. :sly:

Word of warning. 288 GTO brakes like "landing duck on a frozen lake". But it's easy championship, you ll be crossing finish line with 50sec to over 1 minute advantage. This is not tracing but wasting time in this Campaign. Luckily there will be some more action with formula 1 84 and 90, ohhh yea.

In the middle of the FXX series in Modern, just 4 series left after this one. I'm very mixed on this game at times.
Some of the Modern cars they give you handle terrible, while others are night and day better. The obstacle challenge with the 575 Marenello was particularly tough just because the car doesn't handle well at all. Same with the 360 Spider and 550 Barchetta, they're just sloppy.

I've had to tweak the sensitivity settings up or down depending on the car and track, and that seems to help. Trust me, for the Enzo race at Riviera Monte Grande, you want it up to make the car more nimble in the hairpins. That's where the AI will get you. That race took a few times to come in first. It's the sticky walls you have to watch for too.

But the Challenge Stradale on the other hand, now we're talking. That series was so incredibly enjoyable because of the handling.

I've hit the difficulty wall several times in the Modern set, even on easy, and each time I didn't think I could get past the stage and come close to giving up. I'm glad I kept with it though, some of these cars are great fun to drive.

It's definitely one of more challenging games I've played. I'm much happier now because I've finally unlocked quite a few cars and tracks to enjoy hotlapping on.

I did a few sets of the Golden races, then jumped to the Modern to get to my beloved F430 Challenge. I'm leaving the Silver for last as I've heard it can be really tough.

I know the chance is pretty slim, have anyone here ever played SEGA F355 Challenge Arcade with the 3 screen cabinet, H shifter and clutch + this Atari release with clutch ? Like I said in previous post in this thread, I've won on all the tracks of the old Sega game, it's one of the best Ferrari game for me, even after 10 years. How does this Ferrari Legends compare to that in terms of difficulty, physics and handling ? I am referring to the same car + track that are in both games, Ferrari F355 challenge and Fiorano track. Doing the heel and toe on the Sega version was so great sim wise, the metal race pedals, the steering wheel, was no slouch compared to today's top end steering+H shifter set. It didn't have any aids with the pro mode ( manual clutch mode), if this Atari release is similar with the clutch, I would get it now on PSN :)

Just small example of poor crash model, cars don't get completely wasted like in Shift 2.

Jamesways how did you handle with SP 333 6 lap Endurance race at Road America. You have to help your team mate by dropping 3rd rival into 4th or lower and finish in 2nd. I play on Hard with PRO driving style and on 8th lap tires are wasted :/

I've finished Gold and Silver era, what a blast. 👍

ENTERSANDMAN13 two days until i unlock any modern F1

Nail'd it on that one. Not only were you correct on the brakes, but the 1+ minute leads... almost at 2 minutes over the competition on Hockenheim.

I must say, Champs Day 84 I think the event was called... The whole starting with the Testarossa then going to the 126 C2 F1 back to the Testarossa then to 312 B3 F1 completely screwed with my head.. then back to the Testarossa. :ill:

After all that, atleast the F40 was at the end of all that. :D And what a welcoming site that was. Fun car. 👍

I'm playing on Easy difficulty with the Pro handling model to start with just to unlock everything. So maybe hard adds tire wear. Easy is for the most part, easy. But every now and again, you still hit the wall difficulty wise. Some of the challenges are damn tough even on easy. But to be honest, I haven't noticed any problems with tire wear on the long ones, so it is probably due to playing on hard. I should kick it up and try that race again on hard.

I loved this race by the way, I thought it was so clever to put actual race team orders with championship point consequences in as a story instead of just "pass this guy". It was so tense yet fun to pass Chuck, keep him at bay while trying not to hit Charlie ahead of you. You had to play a careful game of blocking and watching your braking distance.

I should have the FXX ones done tonight and maybe some of the F430 Challenge ones after that hopefully. Then it's on to the F1 cars in Freelance Driver Chapter 3.

I still can't believe the difference in handling in some of the cars. The 575 Maranello is depressing, the F430 is a sliding pig of a car (have fun pushing that around the Ring) and the 360 Spider is almost worse, yet the 360 Challenge Stradale and 612 Scag are awesome. I'm praying the F430 Challenge is just as good.

Seriously, if they had the Stradale unlocked for people to try at the start, maybe that would have changed some opinions/snap judgements.

Edit- Man, the FXX races were fun. Now in the F430 Challenge series, and that car handles great!

F-50 Championship is total blast, for now i don't really care of any modern F1 machine.

:eek::eek::eek:

And finally my Dream Come True. Behold Magnificent F-50 GT on Riviera Casino. Finally i had a chance to milk this combo. :)

+ F5-50 GT Road America, this time with tire wear verry much visible during last two laps

You can check if you want, set difficulty to Hard and Driving Style to PRO. In any endurance you will feel last laps are impossible to drive in same grip as first. I can recommend:

  1. Prototype Sports Cup - A helping Hand race
  2. Enzo Tribute - Back Home race
  3. Nordschleife --> The Green Gauntlet 599GTB

Last lap is impossible !!! Try to maintain all that lead  I'm loosing every second from first two laps. I Can only assume it's due to Tire Wear implemented into this game. And it's fantastic !!!

Jamesways

It is finally fun to drive entire lap on that track. I've finally unlocked and i can do some practice in my beloved F-50GT, i will post full lap time video soon :mischievous:

Yes, it sure does affect you the last few laps, not easy to manage at all. Hats off to you for being able to win these on hard. I was able to beat Shift 1 and 2 on hard, but I'm not sure I have the patience to do it in this game.

By far the toughest races (even on easy) in the Modern set for me were the Enzo race at Riviera Monte Grande, the obstacle race with the 575 Maranello, the first F1 race at Donnington. So many restarts.

All I have left in the Modern set is the last 3 races, and I just might have hit the wall again for a while. I'm in the 2011 F1 on Spa, 10 laps, need to win to unlock the 2008 F1.
The F1 races I'm finding to be really tricky. More so from your own driving than how the cars handle. You have to un-train yourself with these. What I mean is, if you've played F1 2010 or 2011, you know the second you feel the grip break you're in trouble and you compensate to try to save it. In this game, you go into that telltale SMS slide if you push too hard, not necessarily a spin right away. Your mind automatically turns the wheel the other way to overcompensate (habit from playing those other games), and that sends you into a slide the other way. You may spin, but probably just wobble a bit and lose time. By then the AI is either by you or smashes right into you. The AI is incredibly fast in these. And the braking distance is so short. The sense of speed in insane.

I have yet to nail down the sensitivity settings with these. Too low, and it's unresponsive, leading you to try too hard to turn it creating those slides, too high and you just wobble doing little slides back and forth too often. These races are tough for me. This one's going to take some serious practice.

If you're doing this on hard with tire wear, it's going to be a major pain, the AI doesn't let up.

The only things to unlock from these are the 2008, 2011 F1 cars, and Fiorano Alternate. I think the last two will be easier, one's a lap time challenge, and the last a regular race with the 458.

I really enjoyed the F430 Challenge and Scuderia Spec series. Those cars handle great, and the races were a lot of fun. Even the obstacle courses on Riviera were manageable with the Scuderia.

I'm happy I've unlocked pretty much all of the modern tracks and I have a nice list of decent handling cars to hotlap in now.

Time to go back and finish the Gold and start the Silver soon.

But going back and comparing to the Shift DLC, I still think most look and handle better in Shift. But that's also attributed to both the settings and being able to tune them as well. Some do seem less twitchy in FRL.

I'm enjoying this more than Shift 2 though, that's for sure. The tracks look better than they did in Shift 2 IMO. That cloudy lighting on Monza! 👍

Edit- Speaking of that race with 599GTB ussr, you've got another coming up with it. But it's just one lap on the ring, a timed challenge to unlock it.

Oh and when you get to the California race at Riviera Monte Grande, I suggest upping the sensitivity a lot. It's one hugely understeering car in this game. It might feel different with a wheel though, who knows.

MildAshers- you in the UK? I've read it's still coming. Not sure about the PC release, the dates are all over the place. I imagine the modders are going to have fun with this though.

I really wish Atari had not cocked up. I really want to play this game after reading all of this here.

With all the F1 races, I'm finding that I have to untrain myself and then retrain myself over and over again till' I get a feel of the car. Because when the game tosses you in a road production car, then back to an F1 car, it really messes with you.

I completed all Gold era & Silver era. ( All Hard diff/Bonus objectives ) After work, i'm going to drill the modern era and see exactly how hard it is from what i've read here. :nervous:

Sadly Gold and Silver era are not that challenging as modern era. They are fun and exited but not that hard at all. You just drive and next race please.

Modern era is much harder, and the best. F1 cars gives me so much fun on Nordschleife. I've almost finish the game (98%, three last races in Moder Era) and feel like stupid. There in no reward for playing on Hard, no trophy no car no race track. Just game is bit more longer than it is on any other difficultly.

I can recommend Test Drive Ferrari to any Shift fan 👍

Once you drive F1 car there is no way going back to any other car i think. In my case only car i can drive except F1 is F-50 GT.

There's a few in Gold & Silver era that have challenged slightly, but most of it was just getting used to a car. But pretty much and best said right there man.

Going into the 333SP champ at the moment.

Sure is the Ferrari F1 2011? Doesn´t should wear full slick (no stripes) tires? And that isn´t its wheel.

Next to car name, is the year. And it says 2011, previous says 2008. There is no tire choice. I just picked the car, track and GO into Time Trial. There is no car settings either. You just try to squeeze what game gives you. And i like it. At least players are on equal ground this time.

I don't know if tires wears off in Time Trial because you can do lap after lap after lap endlessly.

Yeah that definitely looks like the 2006 248F1. the 2011 150 Italia doesn't have the "Upper Spoiler" that connects the endplates to the nose-cone.

HaHaHaHa :sly: you right guys. I've screwed up. I'm sorry this is 248 F1 2006

But HEY that's good news, it means next lap in 150* Italia 2011 should be quicker through Ring :mischievous:

F1's with Shift physics. Why oh why.
fp__picard-facepalm.jpg

Thanks ussr for posting all these videos I'll keep them as a reminder, *avoid this game like plague, period*. Could have been epic with decent physics though.

No problem :sly: One might hate the game, but i love it and that physics.

I've already finished all racing Eras, all three on Hard. I wasn't that hard at all. Once i learn how to deal with tire wear on longer races it was OK. Now I'm just racing for fun.

It's a shame the physics looks that weird. Graphic seems great, but after all this time of GT5 and rFactor there's no way I can remotely accept that driving model.

Glad you're having fun though, graphic looks very very good.

it's not as weird as it seems, it does give you a flowing kind of feeling. But some cars are completely whack... like the 512BB.

IMO... It's quite fun, a nice & welcoming game... and a nice break from GT5. It's also the first Ferrari game I have absolutely enjoyed.

One lap at Nordschleife in F1-90, with frozen replay. Respecting other cars. Almost won a race

@ ussr (and every game users), I have some questions:

· I see the HUD can be fully removed, but, can any parts of it be disabled?

· Can the virtual mirror be switched off, getting only the real mirrors working?

· Has the online a co-op mode, or can be an online race grid completed with AI (bot) cars?

Thanks in advice.
