Just how many games can SMS make with this engine and track list? Still, awesome track and car list, and the UI (from ISR video) looks very nice (certain developers can take notes here ;))! If I pick this one up it will be for PC, or maybe PS3 after watching a few initial reviews.

The second batch of videos (ones above), look even more promising. But as you mentioned, I will wait for initial user comments before getting it.

Game is coming in May and it's closed circuit races, not open world like previous Test Drives so I'll give it a chance.

But it's based on same Shift 2 engine so I'm still cautious with my opinion about it.

I have now completely lost all interest in this title. :yuck:

He might be wrong because game supose to be released before of arter Shift 1 (not the Second), so it might be worth playing. But just wait for some player comments based on playing final game.

I'll wait. Videos looks verry good.

You never know, they might have sorted it out!

Have you played the pCARS alpha? The engine is entirely capable of realistic physics simulation over and above what GT5/FM4 can achieve if it's fed the right numbers.

Whether they've chosen to do that here is a fairly valid question, but if they haven't it's by choice and not because it couldn't be done.

Good to hear.👍

But thats another ball park... this one has «convincing physics for quick pick and play» wich IMO is ok as long as it doesnt have any imput lag...

This does not make any difference at all. What they do with PCars is down to the developer, it's their call. What happens in this game physics wise is down to the publisher.

Bingo! That's why Shift turned out like it did.

I really love it how they have the old Hockenheimring. I wonder what made them do that. Old F1 cars?

It was also in the Shift 2 Legends DLC. Same applies to Rouen and the classic Silverstone layout. Great to see them in here too, Shift 2's track list is one of the best out there IMO.

This is what Iv been waiting for :)

The graphic looks stunning, really, The sound is good, car and track list great but the phyiscs can make it or break it. That F430 and 1987 F1 handle like crazy boats. Slightly Mad Studios should change the name in Completely Insane Studios. :ouch:
A shame, I was very interested on the car/track list.
If that's the SIMULATION, I'll wait till someone convert the good stuff to rFactor, as they did with previous Shifts.

Look, this is how a real F430 handle at the Nordschleife.

Remember. That is the XBox version! But I wonder how they do really good on pCARS, and suck at this game?

Just my 2 cents but for me this car is the 1990 641F1 (missed the title in that famous accident between Prost & Senna at the final race in Suzuka).
I base my argument on the quite characteristic position of the mirrors.
Also, the driver doesn't move his arms to change gears. This semi-automatic system (7 speeds, as shown) was first introduced in 1989 by Ferrari, and was optimized in 1990.
Moreover, I would say the engine sounds more like an atmospheric V12 engine (the 641 F1) than a turbocharged V6 (the engine of the 87 F1).

To say a word on the gameplay, if the 430 seems to slide and oversteer excessively for me in the dedicated video, that f1 drive seems a bit more realistic.
Still curious on this game, which brings some nice historic f1 cars (312T4, 126C2).

Best regards,

Snypa

I'll wait for comments from the first few players.
The handling is not realistic, but after a few wheel setting changes I had a Huge amount of fun on shift 1 and made me buy shift 2 wich was for me again a very good game.
I'll see how this gets along, but I wan't to give the developers credit for the car selection and sounds but i'm still asking myself : where the f* are the 430 and 575 GTC race cars?
Or am i overlooking them?

They're in there. I want them too.

@nitrorocks

Alright! Because next to Corvette,BMW and Aston,Ferrari is one of the biggest contenders in het ALMS and FIA GT of the last couple of years.

Really looking forward to this (altough it's pre order price is 60 bucks here in Holland :S )

Thinking of preordering it myself I am actually replaying shift 2 unleashed now ( free download if you have playstation plus) im enjoying it alot more. This is a possiblitiy I might have to see just a little more footage.
