It does when your a sim snob ;)

People forget how awesome games like PGR were (and still are).

Touché.

I guess "sim snob's" don't know how to have fun eh? I mean, I do love me a good sim, dedicated iRacing player here and many other sims alongside that. I do need some fast paced action racing sometimes though. As you say, games like PGR, amazing, Race Driver series, amazing.

I enjoyed Shift 2 immensely, so that engine, with a tonne of Ferrari's and old F1 cars with that track list. 👍

From what I could tell from the InsideSimRacing beta test video the input lag is still there, and not a little.
This together with the powerboat physics has completely put me off 👎

Too bad, as I really like the car and track list :ouch:

Input lag is annoying but you can learn to deal with it. Plus after patches it was a lot better in Shift 2.

Powerboat physics? Do elaborate further on this. I played Hydro Thunder and I didn't feel like I was playing Shift 2.

Indeed, I think some people forget why they started gaming in the first place. Pretending that they are a racing car driver somehow makes them forget that they are still games and meant to be fun.

Shift 2 was better after the patches regarding input lag, but still took away some of the fun. With powerboat physics I was referring to some of the Test Drive Ferrari videos where it doesn't really look like you're driving a car, but rather a boat swerving over the water. That's just the impression it gave me.

One of my major gripes with Shift (2 , didn't play 1) next to the input lag was that the physics model didn't really allow you to place the car where you wanted it to be. And in the Test Drive Ferrari videos it looks even worse...

We will see, but this game is made by other company than SMS studio but on the same engine Shift 1 was, so it is possible to had decent game 👍

Either Im not understanding correctly or you got it wrong... this is made by SMS and here is the proof... hope this settles it once and for all

...and from that interview it doesnt look good/different in terms of handling (comparing to Shift) because she avoids every question about physics or handling and says the major improovement/difference is the career mode/events...

She said "Ferrari does not allowed them to put tunning options" so this is driving heaven for me 👍 Finally only skill would separate drivers :sly: how awesome is that :D:D

Yeah thats the second interview Ive seen for this game and both times the question was stepped around. This game will play just like it looks. Should of called it Shift 2 Ferrari legends. Im not waiting for this anymore. :grumpy:

I agree. Those "powerboat" references are about as badly exaggerated and inaccurate as the ridiculous "vacuum" references people make to the engine sounds in GT5. Nothing but very poor attempts at being funny.

I wouldnt be so sure about that.... the other day I was playing GT5 in the office and I felt like turning the sound a bit louder and my wife screams from the living room - So you finally decided to clean the office :D

Shift 1 had really great and different driving physics engine. For some reason it attracted large amount of players who still played the game, even with DLC's and continue playing second Shift.

Test Drive Ferrari is addressed to the same players. So ill play 👍 See you on race tracks. :mischievous:

Not intended to. The first thing that came to my mind when seeing the cars drive in the videos was that it looked more like steering a boat than steering a car. It's my personal opinion on how I percieve the physics, no attempt to be a comedian.

Was still funny though.

Wait so that makes this the new Shift 3 trailer?

If you watch that video tribolik posted you see that cars sway from left to right when driving on a straight line, even the formula cars (see 1:35 and 3:15). That's what's referred to as powerboat references. While I did enjoy the Shift games I found that behaviour very annoying. Nothing to do with being a sim snob, I enjoyed Driver San Francisco a lot for example.

Adapt and overcome, i shall be testing my skills on this game too. See you in my mirror USSR :)

Having good competition make games like Shift 2 only better, even with what they call lag steering which we have to Adapt and overcome 👍 :sly:

Shift 2 on the xbox 360 plays pretty good with a wheel. So if this game comes out any time soon, I'll buy it for the 360.

May 31, so it's only one month from now 👍

Crap :ouch: I've read about delay but from April to end of May, wasn't aware about next one 👎

Maybe then use that time to work on steering issues and freezes, fingers crossed. 👍

My thoughts and hopes exactly... but I will still wait more than 2 months to get it... I will probably wait 3 or 4 for the user reviews and patch announcements.
