Just occurred to me that in all the videos, there doesn't seem to be much indication of damage to the cars...some small bits fly off in one or two videos when cars collide, but not seeing any residual damage to the cars themselves, even in the ones where the car seems to be sideswiping or grinding ever other armco.

Hoping Ferrari haven't placed a restriction on this? I seem to remember one of the reasons for the previous lack of and now limited damage modelling in GT was because some manufacturers don't like it, yet it still seems to be a big part of other games.

If that's the case somebody please explain me why Forza Motorsport 4 has decent damage and Ferrari brand at the same time.

Ferrari have also barred tuning in this game, so the licensing agreement is clearly different.
So it's not manifacture fault, it's developer fault not developing proper damage model and/or buying cheap basic licenses without tuning and damages.

Yes, they clearly f'd up not dictating the worlds most well known sportscar brand whats the deal. :D

Dude, please. If you need somebody to blame for everything, buy a dog.

Maybe they put SMS on a short leash after the mess there last game was that had Ferrari's in it. After all it was pretty much a disaster. Maybe thats why EA no longer has an exclusive license for Porsche.

Why was it a disaster? Shift sold 4+ million. Real mess there...

Also, as someone said, its probably based on differing levels of licensing, cars only, +damage, +tuning. Microsoft have more money to throw at Forza thus buy a better license package. SMS, are probably putting more dev time into Project C.A.R.S rather than this side project. Not to mention a game titled "Test Drive Ferrari Legends" It does not need tuning. Not every game needs tuning. This is about Ferraris and driving them, nothing more.

Also, EA do still hold the Porsche license exclusively, they themselves license it out to other game companies if they so wish. Put enough money on the table and they will talk, again, Microsoft able to negotiate this easier. EA still have exclusive rights we believe to the 991 and 918 cars.

Now link the official document where Ferrari S.p.a. denied tuing and damage to SMS or all your theory is BS.

there is an interview video (in this thread posted by me) with the Dev from SMS responsible for the game in wich she claims that Ferrari didnt want tunning because they feel their cars are perfect when they leave the factory... if it is B&%&$ than at least its official B&%$&$... doesnt mencion damage though

Yes that's true. In that interview SMS studios spokesman (a woman) clearly tells about no tunning option in the game because Ferrari tells then not to. The reason for this is that Ferrari thinks they car are perfect for any track.

For me personally it's great news. Ill spend more time with my car on race track. Wouldn't have to dig in tunning options to find better tire pressure, because someone had a better tunned car and drive the same way and had a little better lap.

You want to be quicker, then just drive quicker :sly: I can wait for this game now. Only one month from today. Release date for EU is in 29 June.

Only one month and Shift madness returns :) Video below shows one lousy lap on Nordschleife in clearly Shift driving physics

HKS racer, the only one sounding rediculous is you. Does Forza bare the name FERRARI on the cover somewhere? Do you really think somebody else then FERRARI dictates whats in a game called Test Drive FERRARI? And do you really think Atari and SMS are in the same position as Turn 10 (financially and from a reputation and influence POV) in negotiations with, like I wrote, the most well reknown sportscar brand in the world?

Sorry, but please stop. You sound like a 13 yr old schoolboy with znilf idea on how business works. And why this dire need to blame somebody for everything you personally dont like? Maybe all 3 agreed that this is just not the type of game for setups and damage? Not everything with a racecar in it is meant to be a 100% pure simulator and there are many people enjoying such racing games anyway.

Does anyone from Xbox360 guys remember if in first Shift DLC Ferrari cars were destroyable? I don't think so.

Thank you for inside simm review. I did not see that. It's nice to know where this project really came from. It appears to me that it's old as our earth it self :scared: :ill:

Now how sick is that? To release a game that was started before fist Shift which it was great game, better one than second Shift, and then it comes.

Now getting back to damage, watching this video I've noticed in 2:41 that this old ferrari had damage left front. Does anyone see this except me. Ill just wait and see for myself how this game feels. No need to write anything else :)

First of all You are going a bit too psycho. Need to calm dawn you 12 yr old kid. :)

Than, explain me why Euthechnix (bloody EUTECHNIX, not Microsoft) managed a deal with the same manufacturer, using the manufacturer name in the game title and a bloody livery editor. Maybe SMS agents don't know how to deal with Ferrari as they obtained the less featured license in the last 5 years of gaming.

Test Drive Ferrari Racing Legends release date finally confirmed

After months of silence, it seems as if we finally have a solid release date for Slightly Mad's elusive Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends.

According to their Facebook page, Test Drive: Ferrari will be racing to most European countries July 6th for PS3 and Xbox 360, while American retailers point to a July 3rd release date. The PC version will then arrive "a few days after."

That's good but I REALLY hope this comes out in the UK :nervous:

Does anyone know if it will?

I wonder if this will show up on Steam. Atari doesn't seem to have a good history with getting their published games on Steam though.

Does anyone find it strange how this game is getting almost no hype from the developer? I mean most games this close to release has the developer hyping there game every where they can. Ive only seen 1 artical about the game with the developer. Atari isnt even hyping the game.

They did the same with Race Pro. :(

So hang on a minute, this is a game from the Test Drive franchise which so far seems to be renowned for semi-sim, semi-arcade physics and huge open worlds to drive in, but without the huge open worlds. It's developed by the guys who made NFS: Shift 2 presumably alongside their own proper sim (is that right?) and appears to be using the same engine, and it features nothing but Ferraris. It doesn't sound appealing so far but I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Well i can only assume this.

This game is based on Shift 1 engine and use race tracks not open word highways. As Test Drive series it goes a little off main course of entire series just like both NFS: Shifts goes off main Need for Speed course of open road, open highway chases to closed race tracks.

Test Drive Ferrari was started during that time when First shift was released. But something happens and SMS decided to release DLC Ferrari's for Xbox and some other cars like Gumpert Apollo, Honda NSX and Mp4 12C for PS3 (which during that time pissed off many ps3 users). So now when SMS is making project cars, some other game making geeks inside SMS are finishing Test Drive Ferrari. But with strong influence of SMS studios. Probably Slightly Mad hired those geeks specially for this game. For all i know SMS is focusing their work on c.a.r.s

I agree I don't even know if I will be able to buy the damn game because I can't find anything about if it will come out in the UK
