Yes this is weird. No big advertisements spots like on Forza and GT5. No any advertisements any ware.

Amazon UK at least has the game listed for PS3, though looks like no release date (ticks me off how they always say "out of stock" when it hasn't been released yet)

Different publisher though, Rombax Games? Who?

getting kinda nervous cancel preorder?

Well i kinda know what to expect, Ferrari cars + Shift 1 game engine and physics so for me this is definitely buy and play 👍 I'm just curious :)

Anybody got this game yet? Just wondering if its any good. Might pick this up when it becomes avaliable for the pc.

I was under the impression it was going to be released on Tuesday, July 3rd, am I wrong? My local GameStop didn't have it but I plan on picking it up when they stock it.

There's no even a Demo of it, no single proof of it's existence :ouch: And in Europe it should be released this Friday, so nervous looking for it on game-store shelves begins.

played the game, guys it's fully arcade and i mean very arcade. A pity cause track list and cars are amazing.

Looks like title only for Shift fans loving this arcade driving style, i have to seriously reconsider this game. Knowing there is no tuning cars at first it was amazing but i could force any car with proper setup to do more driving and less sliding. And now seeing all this sliding I'm re-thinking this game.

Yeah the game play videos I seen so far explains why the developer is keeping silent about it. I wouldnt want anyone knowing I made it either. This will be a pass for me.

I hate that a-word so much nowadays, its unreal. Could you maybe share a little deeper insight on what exactly is so arcade about it?

I'm unsure what to make of the videos too. One thing I miss is a video where the cars are driven properly - what I've seen mostly looks like someone goofing around with gamepad, not knowing/caring about proper driving.

But yeah, the vids show a lot of sliding. Of course you can slide race cars IRL, or keep them on the straight and narrow if you want to go fast... Again, I need to see it driven properly.

The game is intended as a "pick up and play" title, so we'll undoubtedly get "friendly" physics to some degree. I'm getting this anyway, knowing fully well what it is. There's no way I'll pass on that car and track selection :dopey:

If it is super arcade, more so than even Shift, it's a shame because the car and track lineup is great.

Term super arcade is registered and can only by used with Ridge Racer 7 title :sly:

Ill hope to find some decent youtube reviews of final game 4th July. Maybe someone finally dispel all my worries and either convince me or warn me not to buy this game

This is a title we must rent before buy. The Youtube videos are not enough to judge, and opinions from people playing with a pad the story mode are not the best. We must test the game with a wheel, all aids off, and high difficult IA level to know how much arcade (and how much fun) the game is.

it's something between shift 2 and a classic arcade NFS. Almost every turn is a drift and there is that waving effect from shift.

However it's fun, fast and the sound is insane, really amazing. Good tracks and good cars. It's a game you can enjoy if you're not looking to simulation.

However for me is the case of shift2, a game with an insane potential and incredibly well done in so many aspects and having such a driving model drive me mad..

I'm hoping in project cars.

Thanks paulpg, I actually respect your opinion a lot, knowing how fast you are and having some insight is nice. How did you end up having the game already, if I may ask? And Spagettis question is interesting too, are you using a wheel?

Cheers

PS: Dont fear. pCARS drives totally different as Shift. Not yet perfect, but its getting there slowly. They re taking their time to do it properly. :)

Well it turns out it was released here already. I drove about 30 miles out of my way to get it and I've played it for about an hour and a half so far.

My first impressions are it's Shift 2 with only Ferrari, and for me personally, that is a good thing. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to test it with my G27, but it feels nice with the gamepad. I don't notice any input lag with the DualShock 3 and the game looks good and sounds great. The YouTube videos don't really do the game justice and like the Shift games the physics look a lot worse when you use an outside view for the driving position. If you use the cockpit or hood cam the cars look a lot more planted, and when your driving there is a bit of sliding but again, it's like Shift 2.

So far I'd say it was worth the asking price and I'll be getting a lot more enjoyment from it the next few days. I'll also be trying to get a few races in with my wheel and see how it performs.
