Hey McLaren, you haven't updated the OP in a while. There's the cars from the Ferrari trailer and the Bugatti on the recent Fileplanet Beta Stress Test. I know there's no other new info, but still...
That's how it works. We're basically just stress testing the servers to see how they hold up.Is this only for one day? Because if it is, I'm ending this download right now.
You can download it here pretty fast - I'm getting 2.2 mb/s

need a key from Fileplanet though
Cheers for the link. I didn't even know there was a beta test.
Anyone know how long it is running for?
4 hours
You'll need a key from File planet, to install it, it was still running when I grabbed a key an hour ago.
When I ran the game, the servers were off line, but the game updated istelf, 16mb, but you can play it off line
Arghh can't play it, needs servers...
Beta is over?
Yeah as far as the 4 hour stress test goes
The game runs, but won't go past the title screen without the servers online.
Judging by the graphics, it doesn't look that great, but better than the first one.
They are. There are no console betas planned. The TDU2 site has new screens of the Ferrari California.
They better start the console beta soon or the game's gonna get delayed again. I hope they aren't thinking of relying on the PC Beta data for the consoles.
I don't know. I don't think that's wise. I mean, The 360, PS3 and PCs are completely different and their connectivity is also different. I mean, Xbox Live does not equal PSN does not equal online PC gaming. I would do console betas, myself, but I'm not Atari. I just hope the console versions don't suffer without having their versions Beta tested. I would guess, however, the PC version will be the best version this time around.
I read on the forums that they most probably not doing a console beta. I read it from the DMtelstra (whatever his name is, I cant remember) that the PC information can easily be used for the consoles as well due to them all running the same way.
Oh well, I got to play a bit of Beta this morning with the open fileplanet stress test, needless to say there is alot of stuff to be fixed. The game would have failed so hard if it was released last month...
The above should answer your query. The TDU2 site has new screens of the Ferrari California.

It is fine because all the platforms have got the same things in them, just implemented in different ways so therefore if something is wrong in the PC beta, they can find out where it is in the PS360 versions and fix it up there too.I don't know. Well, you're right and kind of wrong at the same time. The 360 and PC share fairly the same kind of architecture, especially when it comes to online connectivity. When released for the PC it'll be released under the "Games for Windows Live" moniker. The Live is a dead giveaway as to what I'm hinting at here. The only real problem is the PS3, while online connectivity doesn't greatly vary from platform to platform there is the issue of server optimization. That's the one and only (at least that I can think of) problem with the PS3. For that reason there should be an online test version for the PS3, but if that did that they'd also have to release a online "test" version for the 360 for no other reason then to shut 360 users up because there's no test version for the 360 (not knowing it was already carried out on the PC front).
Apparently they might be including hardcore mode in this like TDU1. I hope so, the handling doesn't look too good at the moment.
You can choose a hardcore mode in the menus, but it doesn't really feel that hardcore.
Feels kinda glitchy so far, and the mouse feels laggy. Alt-Tabbing makes the mouse freeze when you come back.
The game feels pretty unoptimised. I'm running a 4ghz i7 930 quad core and I can only get 50+ fps if I set everything to low...
I see others driving different cars, but I can't figure out what to do. The GPS doesn't work, so I dunno
