All I said when I saw those screenys was OMFG. I do hope that there will be SUVs for those offroad tracks. I really, really like how they've kept good old Oahu and left the dealers in the exact same places as before too. I'm buying this game ASAP.

I'm a little dissapointed with both the graphics, and the decision to keep oahu.

I am dissapointed with the graphics (how much are you going to get out of the 360?) but I care more about gameplay.

Badned said there is another location besides Oahu, so I wouldn't worry.

These are work in progress images & some are nothing more than TDU1 images used to show the features for reference. This is far from the final product.

That made not just my day but my entire YEAR, damn I have waited sooooo many years for this to come out it is not funny. I will be incredibly P.O if it isnt on PS3 though. I dont see why it wouldnt considering it was on PSP. I love whoever this BADNED is. Bring on TDU2. Also, I found this thread by chance, I never come in the 360 forum:lol:.

PRESS RELEASE:

Atari, SA, one of the world’s most recognized videogame publishers, and much-acclaimed developer Eden Games, are proud to announce the newest installment in the legendary racing franchise with Test Drive® Unlimited 2 for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 expands on the traditional racing experience providing gamers with M.O.O.R.®: Massively Open Online Racing®; immersing drivers in a persistent online environment and revolutionizing multiplayer racing communities as players compete, team up, and share their achievements and creations online. Unlike any other driving game, TDU2 blends the open world experience with realistic vehicles and performance dynamics and for the first time, TDU2 features vehicle damage, weather effects, day and night cycles, and a brand new island to explore.

The first Test Drive® Unlimited innovated the racing genre with an immersive online and offline experience - over 1 million players created online accounts. Test Drive Unlimited 2 blends the single player and multiplayer experiences seamlessly, creating a dynamic world of unique content and challenges. Test Drive Unlimited 2 is “always live,” with automatic updates and seamless online/offline integration. A revamped single player narrative mode can be played offline or as part of the multiplayer experience.

“After the highly successful Test Drive Unlimited which redefined the genre with massively open online racing, Test Drive Unlimited 2 will be an innovative evolution in racing games, expanding its unparalleled multiplayer experience and immersing players in a world full of new online content and lifestyle customization.” said Jeff Lapin, CEO of Atari, SA. “The game fits squarely into our strategy of moving online and generating new revenue streams while maintaining our current retail business.”

Test Drive Unlimited 2 puts the world’s most desirable vehicles in the players hands. These ultra-limited edition masterpieces are flawlessly replicated with Eden’s finely tuned driving technology. Players define their online persona through the customization of their vehicles, and the acquisition of property, clothing and all the accoutrements of a luxurious car-based lifestyle. The challenge comes to life with the most expansive and comprehensive multiplayer offering on the console and the ultimate refinement of the core Test Drive driving experience. All-new race types, vehicle classes, environmental challenges, locations and much more push this epic franchise to new levels of performance and luxury

1 year later, Test Drive: Unlimited 2 has officially been announced w/ 3 new screens.
Atari (Namco Bandai Partners in Europe) has unveiled Test Drive Unlimited 2.

Eden Studios is at the wheel again and steering the game onto PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. The first game was exclusive to Xbox 360.

There's no mention of a date.

The key feature this time will be a merged online and offline world, described in the press release as "always live". This persistent and brand new open-world island space will be inhabited by your Test Drive Unlimited 2 persona, which can not only race, but buy properties, clothing and all the other trimmings that go hand-in-hand with a supercar lifestyle.

Among the other features promised are vehicle damage, weather effects and day-night cycles.

But all this waffle is useless without pictures, so zoom over to our Test Drive Unlimited 2 gallery for the first batch.

Judging by the Apollo picture, it looks like the roads have finally been given more detail & look much smoother.

Damn you moderators. I had the most informative thread with dates and links to source, but you managed to merge it with a less detailed thread.

Ohh i was soooo waiting for that game to get any infos...
Finally
loved the 1 tdu, was such a fun to drive with the g25 (one of the first game to actually fully integrate it properly)

can't wait

What a year, gt5, tdu2,...

Merged with McLaren's thread, although I've removed the 360 tag as it's a multi format game.

The older thread always remains and becomes the first thread in a merged thread. Your information is still there.

does it matter who's thread stays or don't, its the info that matters, who posts it, is irrelevant.

About time, is it awesome that this was announced as I was playing TDU just then?
Not really, its not surprising because you still play it alot, if it was someone like me however, actually, Ill just leave it at that :D.
