Source on this? I haven't heard anything about this being streamed.
It's not.

Firstly, it isn't: there's practically no uptick in my network traffic when playing it. Secondly, they'd be required to advertise minimum bandwidth requirements.
No idea where you heard that, but it sounds unlikely. If you were streaming the game there’d be no point in cancelling the PS4 version.

It makes no sense and is just gibberish from a youtuber. If the game was streamed it wouldn't matter what hardware you ran, you'd be able to run at whatever details your network can sustain (and TDU's servers). Meanwhile you need monster hardware to run the game at the highest details.
I had the same feeling on PS5, depending server status the graphics changed, not sure but I can't says this is wrong

If rendering frame rate is not properly decoupled from netcode, your framerate will tank if network is slow/glitchy. Fairly common problem in games. If there's then also some kind of dynamic quality adjustment in place that tries to maintain the frame rate, you'd get these kind of issues.

And sure, a dev who can't get the game running decently to begin with is capable of developing a game streaming service? With no subscripton costs? Stop believing everything some Youtuber farts out for views.

you get it on flight sim, but yes unlikely
in fact it's not the frame rate, but the textures / reflections that seems less blurry

Am I the only one who thinks that the Camaro ZL1 1LE shown in the Gold Edition cover seems a little weird?

The front resembles the 2019 redesigned version of the Sixth Gen, but Chevy never really updated the front on the ZL1 1LE, even for 2024.

Seems to me that they took the 2024 Camaro SS model and just added the ZL1 1LE parts, it just looks kinda off to me.

i did have a few issues initially though I managed to reach Reputation 10 on the first day of early release. I have been on sporadically since, trying to pick times when the servers aren’t so busy. I have decided to wait for the patch having bought no cars, so have been making do with just the Gold set and the two wrecks. Some of the Meeting Points and Workshops are not “found” so I need to visit them again (for the third or fourth time). I do have the Trophy for visiting them all! I am on 97% of the roads and with the “Radiant Prizes” of Rep or SC I am Level 35 with Clan at 7. I also have over 5 million SC. I have mostly been using the Beetle Buggy to unlock the roads since finding all the pieces.

Yesterday I decided to start the game that I did preorder despite all the bad impressions. With the pad it is acceptable in my opinion but I cannot drive with my wheel! Has anyone else problems with a H-shifter? I can only go in second gear, every shifting attempt blocks the driving. That's still after exploring that the game gave me an inverse clutch as standard... Might wait for the announced update and hope that this is a common and known error. (So far I did use my wheelbase settings of GT7 and it felt good... in second gear)

I've don't try with the shifter ATM, I 'll try and let you know

Could you share your setup ? I'm unable to feel anything with my wheel apart vibrations (TGT2)

As expected then; Planned offline mode only towards the game's end of life.
Though, I won't take their word for it. I'd assume implementing it will probably not be worth it for the handful of players that might still be around.

If the game's life continues to go as well as it has so far that offline mode might actually be pretty close :dopey:

Remember in 2020 when this all started and we were all hyped to hell and back? I definitely remember. Look at where we are now...

I do not understand how people that worked on the original games have zero clue what made TDU the game it is. It's utterly perplexing that this is the game they thought people wanted after 14 years.

So by Christmas then. Or alongside the Ibiza update.

At this point, TDU Solar Crown feels more "built from the ground up" than FM8.

Chris Esaki really gave that phrase a bad meaning, referring to a game whose state at launch was so piss-poor that it leaves people underwhelmed, and is riddled with poor mechanics (always online, come-and-go mechanics, excessive grinding, etc.).

Launch Dev Diary & Next Steps

If you haven't seen it yet, we invite you to check out our latest Dev Diary, which focuses on the launch as well as the upcoming development stages, and shares our thoughts on several key topics important to the community, including:

  • Issues encountered at launch and upcoming compensation
  • Offline/Solo features
  • Optimization
  • The start of Season 1
  • Cross-play/Cross-region
  • AI
  • META

We’ve heard your concerns about the focus on racing in the game. Of course we know that the Test Drive Unlimited DNA is not just about racing – the lifestyle aspect is a key element of the experience. That's why our upcoming seasonal updates (Ibiza, Clan War, Casino, etc.) will increasingly emphasize the lifestyle component. While the initial part of the progression focuses on racing, rest assured that our long-term vision fully embraces your lifestyle expectations. As always, we're listening closely to your feedback to deliver the features and content you're all looking forward to in the future.

I hope Solo is coming soon! 😁 When they'll implement it I'll be playing this game a whole lot more!

Now that the first patch is done, time to get back into the game. Looking forward to the season also.
I didn't complain much so far but my personal gaming experience got worse with the update. I wanted the shifter to work in h-pattern and was hoping for some graphic improvements. Now I had server problems I never experienced before and could join no lobby, neither at dealerships nor races. Even the time trials cannot get started then despite driving without other cars in track... Oh, the shifter still doesn't work as an h-shifter. 🙄

So, I hope for you to have a better experience and have good fun!

I don't now about your experience, but for me nothing have changed on PS5, the game seems even more pixelated, still traffic popping issues, still lighting issues and graphical bugs, sever situation is even worse and some car prices have raised...

I wanted to like the game but ATM, it's hard...

At least all my Fast Travel Points are now there (I got the Trophy ages ago).

Not sure what happened to the VW Beetle Buggy (Wreck). I am sure it sounded more like a VW before the patch.

At least I was able to claim 200,000 SC from the Sharps for Clan Battles. I did have an issue taking to Hideki as finding the talk icon proved rather difficult.

Looks like I’ll still hold off finishing the roads for a while… just in case.

What's up with racing games not being able to fix their in-game economy? I just watched a TDU SC review stating how grindy the game is and how overpriced the cars were, everyone said it desperately needed a fix or balancing.

A new patch comes out and the first thing they do is to overprice it even FURTHER? It's almost like a joke.

I thought GT7 was bad enough, but no. I'm definitely not touching this game.

I must agree on the car pricing. Some of the cheaper cars were considerably more expensive compared to early access. Bizarrely other cars were cheaper on full release compared to early access. The cars were expensive enough to start with.
