I want to race this. Even if I have no chance winning this, racing at Nürburgring has always been something special. In any car.

I drove my first clean lap, which was slow and ugly, but for all I know, I might not be able to finish another lap cleanly in the remainder of the two weeks allotted. Pfugplatz is a total pain in this car; it unpredictably goes left, right, or straight, and as a result, I have to take it very slowly (115 mph :banghead:). In fact, most of this track is nerve-wracking, as the Corvette reacts very strongly to bumps and can shoot off in any direction in certain places. Perhaps the chassis refresh will help when it becomes available.

Since it isn't specified in the first post, I'll use T3, T5, and T8 as splits, as was customary in the GT4 WRS when it used this track. In order, they are 1'37.052 - 2'56.602 - 4'44.480. As is the nature of this track, there's time everywhere, but besides Pfugplatz, where being slow is a given for me in this car, I didn't do well between T5 and T9. By how much I will improve, though, is questionable.

There is always time in the hell

I have yet to run a clean lap, I did get one full lap in which was pretty fast but I had all 4 wheels in the grass at one point so I have to throw that one out.

The Viper runs great here though. Pretty comfortable at high speeds, and the semi soft suspension means (most of) the bumps an curbs are not a problem.

Have a clean lap. Had a better one about 2 weeks ago but forgot to save replay. Still a good 5-10 secs. available for improvement.

Hope the car straightens out for you Austin. Last I used it here the Vette did really well at absorbing most issues. I'm going to try the F6 first because of its excellent trail-braking ability, then alternate to lower each one's time. :D

Meanwhile the customary T3/5/8 sounds like a good idea. Updating the first post since I forgot this anomaly.

Cheers
Corey

After twenty or thirty minutes more, I thought that I had improved by 3.5 seconds, but after restarting the replay about ten times to get a conclusive Photomode shot of a questionable moment resulting from turning in too early for Ex-Muhle, I found that I had gone off of the rumble strip by a couple of centimeters. I spent the next hour pushing far too hard and, as a result, crashing in the first sector on most laps  (and it can't have helped that for about the last half of that period, I was unknowingly driving with diminishing horsepower because the oil needed to be changed :banghead:). But after refreshing the oil, I finally finished a lap that not only was clean but also beat the time of my dirty lap, with splits of 1'36.694 - 2'55.696 - 4'41.834. 👍 It was a little ugly in places and slow in others, but I doubt that I'll return to it. A miracle drive through the first couple of sectors on my dirty lap meant that my T3 was 1'35.5, but I just don't see myself gaining that time, even though there's clearly so much available.

Up to T3, I'm rivalling stidriver. :D

Between T3 & T4 however, the RX7 becomes an unguided missile and tries to take me into the barriers at the earliest opportunity!! :yuck:

Since it's more than 24hrs since last post, I can double post!! :D And good thing too as I've just performed my first clean lap.....and it was VERY borderline clean, there were a few very scary moments in that lap!!

T3: 1.39.518
T5: 3.03.854
T8: 4.54.765

Now, if you excuse me, I have a 1/4 mile record I need to reclaim.

Good splits so far, guys. I had no time to even start this session, hope to find some time on friday and if not: Good luck to all of you! :) By the way, your splits are insane, Austin. I could bet you are going to be in 1st place this time around. Time will tell! 👍

Times submitted. I will finish where I expect. At the back. :) But enjoyed this track. Suffered from being too timid. :ouch: Especially on the back half. Wanted to get a clean run in. 👍 No good enough of a driver to run consistently with two wheels off the track like many of you. Content with the fact that IRL that's the way you would drive the Ring.

Good luck to the ones that will beat me. Uh? Everyone.

Dropped my time alot, but still leaving some on the track. It's hard to be smooth with the car moving around as it is.

T3 - 1'35.424
T5 - 2'54.027
T8 - 4'39.381

Submitting time.....didn't improve on original lap because I had my mother come up from Sydney over the weekend. 👍

On the mobile because we have a line down I guess. Tech coming out soonest as tomorrow. My final time was 6'28.019 case anyone wonders I'm sandbagging for my own benefit. NEW WEEK is El Capitan.

Rarely do I see you driving so gingerly, Joel, but that only goes to demonstrate the extreme difficulty of keeping such a low and stiff car on the tarmac on such a bumpy track; you did a great job. 👍 That said, I'm highly suspicious of the spot that you point out. GT4 often does a poor job of displaying contact between objects, and here, the sound and the car's trajectory both indicate a clear wall touch to me. The analyzer will probably prove unhelpful because you were braking at the time, but it might be worth a look if you haven't checked it yet. And, of course, we should get the opinion of Jetboy., plus those of other members.

I knew that my time wouldn't stand up to Joel's determined efforts this week, but I couldn't wring another 2.5 seconds out of it. I'll record a replay later, probably tomorrow.

Thanks Austin. I spend alot of time checking this. The analyzer and it look good. It showed not sudden drop in speed just a smooth line. When I did a frame by frame look using the side mirror and other view it was clean.

Yes this was not easy. The M5 like kicking the rear up in 3 or 4 jumps if I stayed oven then. Plus at the last staight near the end I hit my braking point just as the car is in the end of the depression. If in was not dead on the car would go flying. So easy was the only way for me do it.

That run was most impressive and quite hairy for almost the whole ride, but I'm closely scrutinizing the plausible hit. Easiest was I'd be able to tell is if the replay provided the G-meter. A small hit would obviously move the meter. Since, however, we don't have that.. :nervous:

I'm going to review it for a little and release a verdict a little later [after seeing other opinions].
