I'm wondering where my MFT teammates are this week? No splits from Greycap or Leonidae.

They're leaving you in the lurch SH....maybe some 'temporary' infraction points to remind them that we are racing this week would teach them a lesson.

But seriously, they must be really cooking to get their times down and we will see something in the last minute or two, that's my guess. :)

I'm just cursing my driving at the moment. I get better T1-T2's and screw up T3 so I lose all the time I made up!! :grumpy: It won't be good enough for top 3 this time around, my driving is just not back up to speed yet.

..otherwise I'm still going to suspect fowl play on default..

What's Poultry got to do with it?

I definitely saw RSH on the front rewatching the video.

That's tricky to say, it appears that it might be, but were you able to get a clear, unblurry shot that definitely shows RSH?

I've gone faster with slower splits :boggled:...

T1 21.495
T2 39.196

Cut it very, very close in the kink before the T2 checkpoint, but I've watched the replay numerous times, and though it's right on the edge, the tyres never leave contact with the white line, as you can see above.
Also another picture of my "Mean Green Sidewayz Machine!" :D

May not be the fastest car out there, but boy is it fun to drive! 👍

Very small improvement. Cars are great but I'm not good enough to take full advantage of them. Done for the week. Like Austin343, I use the sticks too. Easier on my hands over the longer sessions. 👍 Remember something Smallhorses mentioned in a post about alternating between both during Sarthe. I think he said he'd push so hard on the accelerator stick that the plastic would creak. Switched over during GTPLMS race week at Sarthe. Never be able to do all these events if I didn't.

Times submitted.

We will let you guys know our splits once there's something worthy of reporting. :P I'm sure Greycap has something nice, but I'm struggling with the RX-7.. I don't seem to get my braking points or lines right. :irked:

T1: 0'21.281
T2: 0'38.861

T1: 0'21.275
T2: 0'38.795

Will post a video after I shave more off this time. Otherwise, if I can't, it will be uploaded before tomorrow.

Could anybody tell me how much time do I have until the competition is over, considering the time here at the moment is 11:05 AM? Thanks in advance.

It's 9:33 and I'm in Jetboy's time zone so from now it's 26 hours and 27 minutes until deadline.

Ran some laps this morning. Might be the best I can do.

T1: 22.126
T2: 40.112

Is it too late to suggest results be split into 2 different classes, one for the DS2 crowd and one for the people that use wheel and pedals?

I doubt that would work well and it'd just booger up the entire idea of this challenge as well.

All I can say is that if you're already doing those times with the Spirra you'd murder just about everybody with the RX-7. It really is that much faster but if you're racing for fun the Spirra is undoubtedly the better choice, a much more involving drive.

The reason I haven't been posting much is that my primary computer is at another apartment and I'm only equipped with a 11,6" laptop that has its internet provided by my phone via Bluetooth, while it's a neat little invention it's not the most inspiring setup to hang on forums with.

I don't see any reason to do so. Lucas, Nenad, Jetboy., mcsqueegy, and I are, as far as I know, all using the DS2, and it doesn't seem to be handicapping us. Experienced DS2 users are just as fast as or faster than experienced wheel users more than half of the time; GT4's forgiving physics make that possible, and it will be the last GT game in which that's true.

Will post a video once I take it and upload it, to eliminate any doubts. 👍

EDIT: Here's the video.

Once again, just in case.

*throws hands in despair* I concede. Nah, twenty and a half hours I can get something else from the C5-R. ;)

Nenad, he has a point, although I think that his suspicions are excessive; I think that the blurred text looks wide enough to contain the seven characters in "RSH/RSH," but it certainly would put our minds at ease if you could find a way to hold the phone more steadily so that we could clearly see it before it fades. The only doubt in my mind is how you can set a good T1 despite going wide in the second part of the first corner complex and using nowhere near all of the track exiting the turn right before the split. Again, that doesn't mean that I doubt you, but that, combined with the lack of one key piece of information, is why it's possible to believe that you're using R2s.
Smallhorses
I don't believe it's necessary, RH instead of RSH tyres would give a much bigger boost than a couple of tenths of a second in my opinion.

Understand, I don't like witch hunts. I don't want this to seem as such, but when my curiosity is piqued, and there are multiple other members whispering in my ear of "Dude, what the hell is this?? I can't match this, how can he do that, etc." I have to respond. You can see above why I and the others are concerned. Couple this with the dodgy video that a few members have scrutinized and have suspicions of it being cut and spliced (Even I'm not going this far), and Nenad's not-quite-on-par performance in the first TGC... I have PAL people who can't even replicate the gearing. It's all a little much folks. As the proprietor of the series and the representative of people's private views, I have to take into consideration everything that's been said. I'm going to have to say Nenad has to provide steadier proof. Sorry folks, but this is one of those moments that it's down to where the cheese binds.

Regards,
Corey

Which is better than me. I concede when I turn the game on. :)

Well, I can't say that I agree with requiring Nenad to provide more conclusive proof, but I'm not in charge of this series. However, I can refute one of the charges against him, which is the gearing of the car. He really needed to explain it better than he did on the tuning sheet, but it's just the "tranny trick" (which I've never used and could nevertheless deduce). It says Auto 12 (the default settting on the car), but that just means that you have to start at 12, and then slide it to 25 and then back to 1. The gear settings given will then all be magically available, and the final drive can be set last. An accusation of splicing is laughable, IMO, even though it has happened on GTP before (in the WRS back in, I think, 2006).

"Dude, what the hell is this?? I can't match this, how can he do that, etc." I have to respond.

What drivers have said that? I doubt Austin343 or Smallhorses are included in that group of drivers. It all depends on who's behind the car, and the car, of course.

"If they can't match his times, then to put it bluntly: it's their fault for sucking."

;)

Cut and spliced? :odd: The only thing I see wrong in the video is the beginning.
I reckon Nenad has improved a second from his time. So have I. And I posted a video that shows that it is indeed possible for someone to improve a full second in a track as this one. Why can't it be truth for Nenad, but it can for me? There's always the chance he wasn't familiarized with the track, which is my case exactly, and the reason why I have improved "so much", and the reason I won't improve "so much" from now on (over 1000km in the track already).

As Austin343 said, however, you are in charge, and your decision in the end.

I don't know who has said that, but no, I'm not one of them. I've tested his car, too, and although I couldn't quite match his splits (39.3), I can see just by watching the video that the difference results from Nenad's tight line in the first corner and in the turn immediately following T1. I also shifted at the redline rather than at the limiter because stock NSXes don't have a lot of power once the redline starts, and that could account for some difference, as well.

(over 1000km in the track already).

 I thought that I had done a lot of laps here - the Corvette has about 200 more miles on the odometer now than it had before I tuned it to Jetboy.'s specifications.

Ah, well at least someone got the gearing idea.

Look, I'm trying to do this as diplomatically as possible. I have people on both sides of this fence. I have well-respected types that can't stand number fudging, I have people who are flipping out just because it's Nenad (No, it's prolly not who you think). I have people who are skeptical but supportive, I have friends of both his and mine taking both sides... It's a mess. A serious mess. All because a kid in an NSX looks just a little too fast. Even on top of that Codename is embarrassingly fast, faster than the person in question, but did what was not even required and provided smooth proof of his feats.

I just want a better proof, Nenad. It's ease of mind and much less suspicious looking than what has been rolling about here as of late.

Alright guys... I've done my lap after quite amount of laps trying and trying.

T1: 21.434
T2: 39.242

Hmmmmm....

Hey stidriver! Good to see you, even if you're going to beat us all

Quick question: I've been driving both cars this week, if I feel that the other one is faster, am I allowed to switch cars?

Edit: I'm pretty sure stidriver will be driving for MFT, he likes their cars. 👍

Both garage's rides are at your disposal. The whole reason that two exist is for more flexibility depending on what tracks crop up and for different driver styles. 👍

Oh god, who invited you to the party? :scared:

 Good to see you man, we have a serious alien battle here. Who are you driving for, stranger?

Cheers,
Corey
I was looking at your new 2.0 TGC earlier and printed out 5 or 6 car's to try out. I still have one more to run.

Time first time posted was made with MFT's RX-7 and I find it to be the faster car. It's easier to keep the rear end out and pulled back in line on exiting of the corner without losing exit speed.

New time from different tuning house.:D

The tuning house for my new time has only one car listed. A second car would have bin nice.
