g'Day all,
Greetings from Oz.

Is it okay if I join in late as well ?
My friend oldmodelt suggested Adamgp was looking for drivers so I have signed up with team MCG.

I have sent in my final times already as I have limited seat time this weekend but enjoyed the laps I completed.
I used both Cars in the Team MCG Garage and managed a slightly quicker time with the Corvette C5 than the Viper SRT-10.
T1 : 18 . 338
T2 : 36 . 798

Not much between both Cars though and both good fun.
I know everyone says this but I am sure I could reduce times a fair bit if I had more time to work at it.

Good luck all,
Regards,

18.x and 36.x? Not happening no matter who you are. What tires you running speedy?

Edit: What direction. I could very well be wrong in my first comment.

Sorry, it appears I have made a huge mistake :dunce: in not noticing it is GVE Reverse not normal direction.

I will go and try to get at least one lap done for each if time permits.
If I cannot get done in time just disregard entry.

Thanks.

Turnabout is fair play, sorry for my hasty/harsh response. ;) Good to have you in man.

Cheers,
Corey

Hey stidriver! Good to see you, even if you're going to beat us all

Quick question: I've been driving both cars this week, if I feel that the other one is faster, am I allowed to switch cars?

From the splits I've seen you do Macca, I reckon the RX7 would be worse for you....I've been 0.3 behind you the whole time on both sectors. :yuck: It's just the Spirra is sooo on the edge that if you don't treat it right it will spin you off into the first wall at 270km/h!!

These sort of hiccups happen all the time.

These sort of hiccups happen all the time.

I just wish they did not happen to me !
Very embarrassing :embarrassed:

I have redone my entry, going the right way this time, and sent it in.
Only time for the Corvette unfortunately, so apologies to team MCG.

Later all.

I'm about to submit with times of 21.3xx and 39.2xx in the RX-7. I know the Spirra could be faster, it's just the gearing that is too inconvenient for the slower corners, and I'm not very consistent there.

And stidriver, AWESOME splits there! I can't say I'm surprised 👍

Ah, well at least someone got the gearing idea.

Look, I'm trying to do this as diplomatically as possible. I have people on both sides of this fence. I have well-respected types that can't stand number fudging, I have people who are flipping out just because it's Nenad (No, it's prolly not who you think). I have people who are skeptical but supportive, I have friends of both his and mine taking both sides... It's a mess. A serious mess. All because a kid in an NSX looks just a little too fast. Even on top of that Codename is embarrassingly fast, faster than the person in question, but did what was not even required and provided smooth proof of his feats.

I just want a better proof, Nenad. It's ease of mind and much less suspicious looking than what has been rolling about here as of late.

There is nothing wrong with the gearing. First Fianl, then Autoset, then individual gear ratios. That's how it has been done. I don't know why you are having problems with the gearing. Everything works fine here after the gearbox is reseted.

Number fudging? Are you serious? Whoever thinks that... Well, think what you want, the video is unedited. Flipping out just because it's me? Wow, and this is called democracy. Alright, this is just a symbol of envy. Okay, enough about this. I'd love to make a new video of my lap, but, as said before, I neither have a camcorder nor a mobile phone. Hope you got it now.

Final times submitted.

T1: 21.687
T2: 39.985

I know I could do a little better if I had more time.

There's one thing wrong with it and it's the fact that you haven't given any instructions on how to do it. Using a tranny trick (yes, that's one version of it) isn't standard procedure for many people. The setup instructions shouldn't leave any chance for guessing. It's not cheating, however.

It's not envy, it's wondering how the hell that car can do it in your hands. Think of it this way. In the first tuning challenge race only two months ago you were seconds behind me, Jetboy, the "non-alien fast guys". Now you come up with a time that rivals and beats aliens, the first NSX splits were right in the ballpark for the level you showed in the earlier challenge. Something has changed between those runs and if it's your skill, good for you! You're not asked for a better quality video, just one that doesn't show the floor, the table and the ceiling at the critical moment when the tyres are shown on the screen.

I've tried the Landshark to see what the fuss is about. The setup bears a resemblance to my own "Amuse GT1" and it shares a common problem too: it understeers. Quite a lot, and in the wrong places. Which brings up the point that interests me the most, how can you be pulling +2G for long periods in several corners while I'm limited to 1.5-1.75G of constant lateral acceleration (a few +2G spikes included) with the very same car before the turning simply stops and the nose washes out? Laws of physics don't change according to the skills of the driver.

I'm not using the 'tranny trick'. Does it even work? On one hand it's my skill and on the other it's the car I used / use. That SL65 AMG was a 🤬 compared to this great NSX. Yes, it understeers at some places, but by lifting the throttle, it gets its great balance back, allowing you to enter and exit corners at great speeds.

Okay, sorry folks, I was away. I have everyone's stuff recorded, and it will be placed in the Post #2 Space Holder soon as it's sorted out. I believe we have some 15 participants!! ;)

I bet you do.. Good to see so many results, but I can't do the points to some small technicalities. Kidrauhl didn't post if he's a co-owner of AMN or what, so I can't do either sets of points until an answer. Mafia_boy didn't give splits with his final due to maladies happening at the moment... Until then my hands are tied. Results are phenomenal, however. I knew I should have banned that M5...

Cheers,
Corey

You would do me a great favor in telling me if I should upload a video. 👍
Oh, forget it. I will upload it anyway to save time. I'm sure people will like to see it, too. I only ask you to be patient, the last videos I uploaded took me an hour, so this one could take around an hour and 20 minutes.

Congratulations to the M5 duo for spectacular times; even if the car is the fastest here, those are astounding results and must be near the car's limit.

Just for the heck of it, I took a video of my lap in the Corvette. You can see that the first turn was subpar, that I hit too late of an apex in the turn entering the tunnel, and that the final corner could have been neater, but I was proud of all of the T1-T2 sector. I think that I found all of the correct lines there, as was reflected in my substantial gain over Jetboy. there.

Keep in mind I somewhat suck  But still, the immediate right turn after the tunnel you gained big on me. I couldn't make the car stick like that.. Well done man. 👍
