oqvist,

I just set the shifter obviously to analogue, then I use the white foam piece that came with the shifter to cushion it. I learned that from a youtube video, works great in RBR.

Although look at itrdc5 ebrake plate with the spring, obviously this is a much better solution.

Use the aforementioned shift plate and find a rubber ball. Cut the rubber ball with a channel so the brake hande stays nuetral. Works brilliantly. Have fun

The compression spring mod I did was my interpretation of Mayaman's idea/mod. See the post above (Mayaman's) for the 'real' deal 👍

squash ball? Anyway I was more thinking sensitivity settings in RBR. I will surely try the white foam mod though. Thinking not going for realistic feel but rather have as much range and thus precision available and see if that can give me an edge lol. Don´t laugh but I got stuck in Dirt 3 in some of the first basic drifting sessions...

There is no problem with crap getting inside the shifter while using the foam?

No, the shifter doesn't really have any moving parts and there is a skirt inside the shift plate. The rubber ball/foam doesn't leave any particulate matter behind.

Hey Mayaman, do you think you could give me some specs on the size of the shifter boot, and how it is attached? I'd like to try and make my own from a much less expensive material because I really like the look of it.

Also as far as using after market shifters I bought one at walmart that went on on in a strange way, what I'd like is one that screws on like mine, but looks like some of the neat custom ones they have at walmart.

Fabulous piece of news just in from Poltphony Digital:

"Compatibility for the sequential shift mode of the Guillemot “TH8 RS” gear shifter has been added."

I can't believe it took so long to include this function, I was starting to assume there was some type of licensing issue or something. Glad it's now supported... back to +/- shifting, it's been about a year since I could shift sequentially as I was with my G25 I got in '07. MINT!

We all know that the TH8 RS is a jack of all trades (perhaps maybe master of none).

But here's one more that might not be so obvious.

Perhaps you could coat it with latex and sit on it too.

I just came back to my gaming computer after some 3 month break or something (personal record).

It just striked me now but is it a coincidence the TH8RS shifter go so well along with the colour scheme and design of the G27? It´s a bit oversized in comparison maybe but who doesn´t want a big shifter.

I suppose it´s a smart move by thrustmaster if so even though I guess it´s a coincidence or it´s a long finger to the stock G27 shifter lol.

I want to get a short shaft for the shifter, did we ever find a reliable source for that? I saw someone mention something from a marine shop, but I can't find it now.

Also, just got done mounting my TH8RS and DSD Pro Sequential on the same mounting plate. Took some creativity but it's very solid and works well (in theory, I haven't done actual testing yet).

Right... only a genuine homosexual would let their mind wonder towards that fantasy and think it's appropriate to type out. You should take a trip to a metal scrapyard, you'll be pleased with the vast array of hard and pointy objects that can be covered with latex.

Well...boo hoo! Some folks just suck the humor out of everything. Get a life clown!

Love life and love humour of all kinds except for jokes of that type... just totally stupid, I don't get what exactly I should be laughing about with that one. Anyway, back to the circus I head..... hey I just say head, you thinking what I'm thinking?

If explaining is warranted then you probably wouldn't understand. Afro Circus?

Lol. I make Latex for a living ironically. Back on topic, love my TM shifter. It has a nice long knob and shaft too!

Oh so there's an exact science behind understanding the humour? If you write a 50 page paperback on the subject I may just start connection the dots, and hey I just might crack up.... although I can't guarantee it. To recap - I dislike fags, sorry if I offended you or others. Oh well I'm enjoying my TH8 for it's intended purpose, just like chicks.

I don't like the long shaft, I prefer short shafts.

Really though, I want to do a different shaft, the knob doesn't bother me though.

Talking about long shafts, what's going on with that one going off to the right, is that just laying on the ground or is it actually stabilizing the whole thing?

Oh well. An awful lot of explaining on your behalf. Sounds like a tad of insecurity. But that's cool, nothing wrong with that. Have a great day!

That's actually a part of my home-made triple monitor stand.

I haven't cut the PVC pipe down at all, it will be much shorter than that.

It's laying on the ground in the picture, but it's tough to see that due to lack of depth.
