Yep I got 124 Rwhp.
101_3581.jpg

In which case means ill be having tofix my 5th and 6th ports. :indiff:
But perhaps ill do an emissions strip while im at it.(as in MN we dont test for that crap:sly:)
For those of you wondering what im talking about here is a vid of them not working properly.
Those should be going down and also not be able to do this:
IMAG0036.jpg

Oh well :P gives me something to do.

Well Summer has been cut short for the 7.
As I was driving back home the road I always take moves slightly to the left. And apparently if you dont move slightly to the left there is an ENORMOUS POTHOLE!

This equals me Busting out the winter tires early and getting a new set of rims+tires next spring.

that sucks man, last month i lost a tyre to a pothole, lucky my rim wasn't damaged

Yeah, I wish it would have been just the tire. But on the plus side Ill be getting all new rims+tires, likely black, likely staggered.:)

So more bad news, my car got hit by my GF because I "parked too close" and here is the damage.
101_4122.jpg

But from afar its not super horrible...
101_4123.jpg

Then my friend decided that he doesnt like the FTP lenses and took his out. However he doesnt want to stop there as he just wants a front bumper kit that has holes for the lights so he doesnt have to flip them up at all.
101_4121.jpg

Not only that I had been trying to grab some FTP lenses for winter(well and last winter) so he gave them to me.:)
101_4124.jpg

(yes I know i need to wash it:ouch:)
101_4125.jpg

101_4126.jpg

101_4127.jpg

Then on an update on those car, we ordered a $95 clutch kit from ebay for the eclipse since the slippage is too annoying. And I got a different MAF for my Buick so im seeing if that makes a difference.

Nope not about my 7. That will always stay rotary. ;)
Well im on the fence so to speak about taking my dads Lincoln Town car.
IMAG0019.jpg

IMAG0020.jpg

Pros(for me):
Bigger car
RWD
everything works.
V8

Cons:
Gas line needs fixing a little
Has more miles, needs a tune up
Its green...
some rust
102_0507.jpg

My special Buick park avenue would be staying in the family no matter what but, i may not get anything for it. Not only that its my second(literally) car.
Pros:
solid car for the most part
Good ride
Special to me
tires are still good

Cons:
Needs new driver axel
the seat doesnt move back or forth.
Needs a MAF
I would have to move the deck unit and 6x9s into the Lincoln.
hardly any rust ANYWHERE.

So what do you all think? Should I take my dads car for $400? Or should keep the Buick and live with its faults?

Oh! The Buick! The 3800 V6 Is such a wonderful motor. Very reliable. Although I think the Lincoln is probably a nicer car, it will cost more as a daily driver to fix later on.

Oh yeah, we know the reliability of the 3800 we have 3 of them and all are good strong motors. But I dont drive my Buick daily, its more the rx7 or eclipse. Speaking of which its getting its new clutch in. But I have the 4 door cars for longer(ish) rides and carrying more then 2 people.

Sounds to me like a choice of preference then. Which car makes you happier to drive? :D And if the potential cost of the Lincoln over the Buick is worth it to you, seeing as you say it has more miles, and has rust.

Well, im sure if i put some work into the Town car it would be better. But my preference is what im having difficulty with. But i mean the park ave also does need the $200 axle(parts/labor) likely before winter hits really hard...

 I suppose if the 4.6 went bad, thats a good point. Thanks, anyone else have suggestions on what to do?

And it's still a heavy, turdy, pos of a car. It requires a V8, and the "rwd" means nothing, it's not like you'll ever utilize that aspect of it. You've already got a sports car. If there's money involved, go the route that will make you spend the least amount of money.

Me never utilize the rwd? Its soo much easier to spin on the snow though.
And the thing with money is that they both will cost about the same. Maybe...I could likely talk my dad down or get it for free anyhow.

Get the lincoln and make a sleeper. Those ricer punks will crap themselves. lmao

^ oh yes that would be very funny, though Im fairly certain I dont have the $$$ :( to do that. Gah! maybe Ill have to drive it more to see how it feels.

Yeah im going with the Lincoln.
Got a new air filter and changed the plugs today to signify it! Then my friend wants me to "ruin" it for fun which im not super opposed to.

Ooops So I was organizing my photobucket and moved a lot of them and that moved the links....lol so here is that album http://s258.photobucket.com/albums/hh264/thatmanwithwhat/my car pictures/

And here is what ive been up to....
I made my friend check the 6x9s in the Lincoln
IMAG0043.jpg

I tried to fix my Aux ports the easy way but that didnt work so now because of this I am planning on getting a Turbo Rx7 this spring or summer
IMAG0117.jpg
IMAG0118.jpg
IMAG0120.jpg

We added a fancy shift knob to the eclipse and was going to add [edels since one is down to bare medal but now the battery is dead again or it needs another starter.:grumpy:
IMAG0142.jpg

Then we struggled a few hours getting the oil filter off....as you can see:dopey:
IMAG0143.jpg
IMAG0152.jpg

Oh then I picked up the wrong adapter and even when I got the right one my left speakers wont work.:dunce:
IMAG0153.jpg

AND it snowed here....
IMAG0162.jpg
:)
Edit:did 1 more thing
I added a Cone filter, not finished with it but It will do for a temp.(it was getting cold and dark)
IMAG0168.jpg
IMAG0170.jpg
IMAG0172.jpg

I LOVE the noise....And then a picture on what happens when you try to pull an Eclipse on a spare tire with a jeep and dont exercise good clutch control. (This is my friends Jeep)

OKay to I think This is the one of the most questionable things ive ever done to a car:
IMAG0245.jpg

It is functional and here is how!
IMAG0234.jpg
IMAG0236.jpg
IMAG0238.jpg
IMAG0241.jpg
IMAG0242.jpg
IMAG0244.jpg

We also added a different switch so that you have to flip it up to turn the ignition on.
IMAG0248.jpg

And Just so everything is complete here My car is a "4" rotor now...

IMAG0231.jpg
(since I added the oil cap)
On a side note, I saw there was a "members rides" section and would hope a mod would move this thread appropriately. :)

First of all my Lincoln was able to pull a CONSISTENT 35-40 mpg @ 45:lol:
Thats impressive right there....sort of.
IMAG0314.jpg

Then I fixed the rear wiper so it doesn't hit the wing!
IMAG0320.jpg

We also finally got the switch not flopping around.
IMAG0329.jpg

And Pat felt it necessary to add an air freshener to the wheel.
IMAG0328.jpg

Biggest news: We were able to add a STEREO to the car so now there is music!
IMAG0325.jpg

IMAG0327.jpg

Held in place by some duct tape so that it doesn't jolt about.

Bah! NO need for rechargeable, I just put them in there for small trips, I actually also had a spare 150watt 12volt AC to DC converter so I can actually just use that.

I felt the need to remove the cats on my Lincoln for some mini rumble....
IMAG0427.jpg

Gosh this helps:
IMAG0426.jpg

Also I sold my Rx7, I will miss it.....
But hopefully I will find a great example of a turbo Rx and Snap it up soon.
IMAG0419.jpg

But I did also pick this up:
IMAG0440.jpg

Pity you had to get rid of your rotang to get a bike, nevertheless, nice one I'm sure you'll have some fun with it.

It's legal in NZ to run no cat as well. I had mine removed in my first Celica, however here in Aus it's illegal to not have a cat installed. High flow sport cats are expensive but at least it's legal and better for the air we breathe I suppose!

EDIT: I just had a quick look apparently the fine for a missing cat is around 2500 in Aus..

Strictly speaking it's not legal to run catless here... There's a pretty hefty fine for removing the cats on any car originally equipped with them.

Just... Certain states don't do emissions tests and nobody will ever know unless you go yelling about it in public.

Rotary Junkie
nobody will ever know unless you go yelling about it in public.

Like posting it on a public forum with pictures of your car and I'm guessing at some stage, pictures of your car's licence plate? Haha

Ah but its "old" enough for a shop to weld pipes back in their place.

But on the note of rotaries I may get a turbo here on Monday!

AND It still has a catalytic converter...A very small one. So I'm still legal for all intents and purposes!
