Alas they should look better black, I just have to go out and buy the different grits of sandpaper. And get some paint.
But why would I buy winter tires for this? Its going away in storage like my R6.
I'm getting winter tires for the Lincoln and then...:idea:I can put these on it next summer instead of selling them and I'll be B-B-BA-BA-BALLIN'!
Also PB they really weren't an "investment" just a necessity.
Darn though, they would have been PERFECT for the Eclipse....

Those wheels are horrible, but to me it seems like you're not exactly interested in how it looks or what trend you follow. More along the lines of getting what you can for the money you can/want to spend. The car is rather old and in my opinion nothing special, so why dump excessive amounts of money in to it?

Even putting a set of Rotas on that thing would be less offensive. That poor thing.
Well it's a TurboII, which were already quite rare when new. First turbo rotaries in North America, if I'm not mistaken. Finding an unmolested and clean one these days is not something easy, these could potentially be somewhat of a collectible in a few years. It's not quite like putting dubs on a '70 Chevelle SS 454 LS6, but it should be a punishable offence.

Actually I do care how it looks. But my "that'll do" mentality generally beats that. And As I've stated I'll be getting new rims and tires for it next summer. And I should have more than enough.(if nothing bad happens)
So this is exactly what I was thinking:"Need to get tires since they arnt mine...good tires for old rims are like $100 a piece. Deal for something that will fit for $150...okay."
And actually what the saddest part about all this is that people that don't know cars all say "OMG nice wheels!" Then I have to unhappily say "thanks?yeah...."

Sorry? At the same you could look at at this way:At least he hasn't put a rattlecanned bodykit on it or at least he hasnt color matched the interior ect.
Again to put everyone's fears away, these rims are temporary.
And really the car gets treated very well by me. I dont rev it until its warm, I always check the oil, always use premium, anti flood the engine and always try to allow some time before shutting it off on a hot day for the turbo.

Project cars and a that'll do attitude don't really go well together. I'd rather spend a bit more and have good quality tires on standard rims. One, it would look better. Two it would be safer. Three people wouldn't look at it and think "knob".
And I don't think anyone should think "at least he didn't do blah blah stupid thing blah to it" because why should you get credit for not doing what any other normal person wouldn't do either? That would be like me say, shooting someone and then someone saying "well at least he didn't shoot 5 people"

Edit: I still don't reckon this purchase was a necessity by the way, I'm sure tires for the standard rims could by had for a reasonable price.
Anyway that's all I have to say on that, it's Thatman's car after all and he can do as he pleases with it. Just sayin' I can't stand 'em

If only there was a car near you that had an example of aftermarket wheels that look good...
This or some Volks or something that looks sporty.
Chrome doesn't work well on cars past the early 70's, especially not on wheels. Make the RX-7 look like a racer, not a lowrider. It'll give you much more street cred.

Well I mean the General Exclaim UHP Are....were about $79 at tirerack. So here I have an extra set that will fit on my Lincoln next summer so I don't need to have winter tires on it the entire time.
But again....they are temporary, and next week I will be ripping the paint off and making them black. I think that should look at least a bit better.
In other news.....the people that owned the car before me also had these lying there....
So i figured I should hook them up...with a SWITCH!
So now I can shift and have the horn on!
Yep....But anyhow next week Ill get the rims black since I don't really like the the attention they bring. On one more side note my GF says I'm a
"car troll" ....go figure.
