so do you get anything special if you 100% complete and 100% win rate?

100% complete gets you a Polyphony 001... 100% win ratio gives u something to brag about. Think thats it.

Really wish they had a decimal place on the win ratio... i have lost one race in 1250-odd, and its at 99%, when it should be 99.9%, which rounds up to 100 really... :dunce:

Guys,
on Feb 25th I've finally reached 100% in GT3.

I'm announcing this just to thank y'all (not for my selfish pride).

My GT3 copy was lying on the shelf and I came here just to look at some news / update about (so long) upcoming GT4 ; but you guys have sparked my interest and thanks to your enthusiasm and (tons of) good advices I've decided to give it a go just for the fun (and not for the obsession of reaching a target) and ....
... I'VE MADE IT !

THANKS GTP ! (sniff, sniff)
(applause)

I achieved 100% and all Gold years ago, but thought it's about time I post my stats and officially join the 100% Club.

[Copied from another thread]

I'm not sure how many miles in total I've done (will check later), but;

-800 days, 100%, All Golds
-I've made over 30 million in prize money
-20 million garage value (no race cars)
-Raced almost 1,000 races (960+ and counting) with a 78% win ratio  (couldn't be bothered trying to get 100% win ratio, just wanted to collect cars)
-Aquired over 1000 tropheys :D
-200+ prize cars
-and at one stage bought and modified every single car in Manufacturing order ie. Honda, Mazda, Mitsu etc.. :odd:
-and "Won" each racing car in class (order or group) ie. JGTC, DTM, LM :boggled:

AND YES I'M A NUTTER WITH WAAAAYY TOO MUCH TIME AND PATIENCE!!

:grumpy: :mischievous: :irked:  🤬 :banghead: 🤬 :ouch: :irked: :grumpy:

and if I didn't love my playstation and tv sooo much, they'd be in tiny little pieces, many times over, by now!

I got 100% several years ago. I went back and got all gold license tests which was
a good challenge. Then I decided to beat all the demo times. Now I have six faster
than demo times for each license. I have all ten spots on the leader boards for each
of the time trials. 169 fully maxed out cars worth over 72,995,000
1677 wins in simulation mode. 99% W/R over 9 mil credits in the bank and 1905 trophies
on day 1692. (I also finished GT-1 &2) I never even had a F-1 car until I was done with the Pro series and the endurance races.
(didn't know about the oil change HP boost either)
I bought GT-4 the day it came out (delayed one more day here because of the rain.)
I am ready for more GT.

i dont get it im done with gt mode, but my % does not increase wenn i completed some of them time trials, its stuck on 99% ill guess, do you have to have all gold in lisence ? only 3 time trials left, the two rallies and complex string :(

but that wont give me 1 % more .6 % so im :nervous:

i wanna get 100, plz

FYI - The counter stops at 99% and it will not shows any decimals until u'll reach 100% completion (with ALL the 3 time trials left), independently from the % increase an event completion is supposed to bring.

PS - tip for Complex String : buy a stock RUF RGT without any mod and train yourself on that track - I don't remember where U can select that option - look at the demo to focus on speed (esp. on cornering), braking points and intermediate times and then go for time trial. Good luck !

So in early January 2005 I'm coaching my daughter through her latest Spyro game and I keep telling her: 'You've almost got it, just practice,...' and I start thinking about how I quit GT3 in disgust. 18 months ago I got frustrated at realizing that I needed to get gold in the time trials in order to get 100%. I was unable to get past the Viper at Laguna Seca or the Swiss Alps trial. At the time I had about 70% complete.

That night in January I followed my own advice. I restarted the game and resolved to get the time trials done first. I adjusted my style, changed a couple of controls around and most importantly I put the controller down, gently, when I got frustrated.

Three weeks later I was practising for TT10 in Free Run mode around complex string in an arcade RGT. TT10 was the only time trial I still needed to gold. As I rounded the last curve I glanced in the mirror to see how far ahead of my ghost I was. He was nowhere in sight. The ghost's time was 4'55. I crossed the line with a lap time of 4'50. The target time for TT10 was 4:54~. At that moment I KNEW I could beat the game and I golded TT10 on my next attempt.

Fast forward to 9:30pm March 26th 2005. I have 99% showing and the only race I have left to do is the last Formula GT race and I am on the start line at Monaco in my F094/H. Green light...

I'm not a great driver, I only posted 2 laps below 1'19. Most were in the 1'20 or 1'21 range. I had several 1'25 or worse due to spinning or wall scrapes. I was running a 7 lap pit schedule* and the F094/S was on a ten lap schedule. We were swapping the lead every time either of us pitted. By lap 50, when our schedules meshed together, I was still 2-3s back.

I knew that I had to do better if I was going to win. I took a short break and relaxed. When I resumed I was smoother on the controls and it showed. The four laps up to my next-to-last pit stop on lap 64 were all below 1'20. I shoved the F094/S aside at the casino turn on lap 66 and gradually worked up to a 4s lead. He pitted on lap 70 and came out 19s back. I turned in one of my two 1'18.xxx laps for my lap 71 and pitted for the last time. 19 seconds was enough. Just. As I left the pits I could hear him coming down the home straight.

A 3 second lead was gradually extended as I counted down the laps. Five laps to go: -8 seconds. Three laps to go: -10 seconds. Two laps to go: -12 seconds! One lap to go: -11 seconds. Last lap: damn, lapped traffic ahead. Use the 'Schumacher' method at Mirabeau. A slight spin at the box chicane just barely controlled.

Over the line: -12.5 seconds. For a two hour race that was TOO close. And a minute later I am looking at a Game Status screen showing 100%.

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone on this board for their insight and work in mapping out the details of the game. Especially to Der Alta whose compendium should be required reading for everyone posting to the GT3 forum.

Mike

* I ran an 8 lap first stint so that I would not have to pit on lap 77 or run an 8 lap final stint.

Woo hoo!
Finally got 100%

I thought I'd done everything, when I finished my final race (Formula GT cup Cote d Azur 78 laps), but the scoreboard said 99%. I nearly tore my hair out.
A quick search showed I'd gotten silver on the Laguna Seca time trial, but forgotten to go back and finish it.

Result: Panoz Esperante GTR-1 for completing all time trials, F1 car for 100% !!!

Stats:

521 days

674/740 wins for a 91% win ratio (basically because at one stage I concentrated on getting cars, so I'd skip races in championships just to get them quicker...)

138 cars owned

16,381.5km driven.

19,827,000cr with almost every car completely modded.

I have every race car except the Jag XJ220 and the XR8 race car.

Now I'm just going back and mucking around with cars, drifting etc.

Good fun!

Well...better late than never. Finally got 100%.

From what I recall...

350 Days
188 Cars
48 License Golds
100% Race wins

Started in July 2001 and put aside enough time (2 straight days for the last 3%...Formula GT, Time Trials, 2 Hr Endurance, Roadster Endurance, Special Stage Route 5 Endurance) whew!! :dunce:

Now on to GT4...I stopped it thinking I better at least finish GT3 before I continue GT4 or else I'll never go back to it.

I'm kinda confused .... ive done all gold in gt mode .. got all licences(do u need all golds in them???)

YEs, that is it. You need to win all the time trials. The % counter will stop at 99%, and then click over to 100% when you finish the last one.

Good luck.

Ahhh, the elusive 100% club. I know that i won't get it on my first time around, as i was only concerned with doing what i had to to get my licenses. Have still to get my 'S' license, i can see that is going to be troublesome. Just can't get the bloody MX-5 round trial mountain, keep missing by about 2 seconds. Got the first test ok, just been looking randomly at the others. Intention is to do what i have to do to complete the game on this run through, then next time around go for 100%.

I'm currently at 80%, have only Japanese Championship, Elise, Roadster and 'S' License events left to complete in Professional, half of the Rally events and half of the Endurance events left, and the time trials left to do. I've got about 4.5 milliuon in the bank, but true to life, i hate spending money :D I'm trying to rely on won cars to get me through. Resigned to the fact though that i may have to spend some sooner rather than later.

Very grateful for the work put in to sites like this and gtvault though, because i'm bloody certain that i wouldn't have been able to get where i have in the game without them. The fellas who put their time and efforts into these sites and forums should be applauded rather criticised, as i have seen through browsing around other threads on here. Mind you, generally the criticism seems to come primarily from anally retentive morons who lack the capacity to think objectively or accept constructive criticism. So, 👍 to those who do give as much of that precious asset ( time ) as they do. It really is appreciated.

This test illustrates better than ever the "slow in, fast out" rule.
An underpowered car that is hurled into the corners too quickly will then struggle to make up time on the straights, where your terminal velocity will have an enormous effect on your lap times.
Take the corners by braking early, keep to the inside and get on the power out of them early, maximising your speed down the straight parts. Once you can hang a whole lap together, practicing this at every bend, you'll have no trouble achieving at least a bronze on this test. :D

Thanks for the tip, man. I've seen it mentioned many times, but being cursed with a neurological system that develops blockages between the brain and the thumb, i have trouble getting the message through. Trouble is, i have a naturally heavy thumb :boggled: But i'm thinking of posting a huge sign over the top of my screen - ''SLOW IN , FAST OUT''!

I'll be having a burl at it this evening, will see how i go. Thanks again.

I am on 94% & stuck still

You'll have to provide some details of what exactly it is that you're stuck on in order for us to be able to provide you with any help!
Are you having trouble with a particular race? Set of races? Time Trials? Arcade mode? Licence tests?
Give us some indication of how we can help you reach the 100% goal, and we'll do our level best to get you there! 👍

Use the Polyphony 001 (if you have a European/Australian game/console) or F094/S (if you have a US/Japanese game/console). The opposition simply won't be able to live with you, with the possible exception of the F686/M on Test Course. This can be resolved by either not pitting or by careful manipulation of settings (no Toe/Camber, no wing, lowest possible ride height, gearing set to ~225mph).

im stuck at 98-99%
i cant pass the GT Formula Championship

Take a look at this thread, post #6.

In there I've listed settings for all 6 of the NTSC F1 cars, which I have completed the Formula GT Championship in.
The settings were all set for the last race at Cote D'azur since it's the last race they all completed, but I didn't really modify anything other than downforce and transmission autoset values for each particular circuit, so brake balance and suspension settings should be OK. Turn driving aids OFF!!!!
At the most, you can maybe leave TCS at a low setting of 1 or 2, but no ASM!

You must drive almost perfect laps, that is, no off track time and minimal AI and barrier contact to stand a chance in most places. Qualifying helps for some places, Laguna Seca and Test Curse spring to mind.
You don't need to win every race to win the championship either. You can win enough races to gain an unassailable points lead and then quit out of the remaining races, and win the championship. You'll get the championship prizemoney and the prizecar. Then go back and tackle the races you missed individually, since you can go and change your oil, etc., between races. The races will appear to get harder, since your oil light will come on during the test course race in the championship, and there's no way to change oil mid-championship.

Hope this helps!

well fellas i got to 97.1% with 3 time attacks left to get first in. Im not sure what the deal is but dont u only get 0.1% for each of those 1sts. That doesnt add up to 100 ... doh!!!
Oh well i just got gt4 for my birthday so maybe ill come back to it one day.

Hi there, I am new to this forum. I am from New Zealand and now working in Japan. I started playing GT3 in late 2002. After many hours, little by little, a lot of enjoyment and patience, I can now say....

I cracked 100%!!!!!!!!!

I was quitely proud of myself, just thought I should share it (as it is the topic of this forum). I never thought i would beat complex string time trial, but it's amazing how much time you shave off if you keep practicing.

But, i'm not finished. I want to win the F1 championship with the R390. I tied for 1st last time after bumming out and coming last at Monaco. Does anyone know a good set-up for Monaco with the R390?? I really lose a lot of time around the loews hairpin.

Anyway, going to Amazon and will order GT4.

Cheers!

i cant believe you guys actually reach 90%

all those races and endurance races and that annoying Formula GT champship
All these races are easy but i cant be bothered to do them

You guys are legends if you do them all

The endurance races can be fun if you give yourself a challenge. Have a look at the AI cars first, and then choose a car that's about 100-200 hp less than the AI cars.

I also had a rule for myself: if i was more than 2 seconds faster than the AI's in qualifying, then I would go down a stage in either suspension, turbo, etc, depending on how faster I was.

No way could I do 2 hours unless it was actually a competition.
