Nutcase doing 308 km/u in a Gt-R on a road with a 80km/u limit.

Looks awesome, but a bit dumb.

And with the laws in the Netherlands, the police can't do anything about it. Even with the evidence on tape.

It's neat.. But how did that truck stay put when the engine was at full tilt?
It has a controllable pitch propeller. The prop was adjusted at an angle where it was making very little thrust, if any at all.

Here's an example from a C-130. Obviously in this configuration the prop won't work at low speed because it's basically slapping the air sideways, far beyond it's usable angle of attack. At low speed the blades rotate sideways to cut through the air, and as speed increases the blades rotate more forward. The blades adjust depending on speed and thrust requirements. The engine's RPM stays within it's peak powerband in-flight, and the pitch of the blades changes to try and keep it there.

Here are two videos from NASCAR on TNT RaceBuddy from Infineon. These videos are onboard Kurt Busch, and the sound is great!

Pretty amazing article I stumbled across. We may be fat and lazy, but I tip my hat to the UK for this.

A no-fly order was still in effect the day after the tragedy, so none of the Americans who in the UK at the time were able to fly home! So, as a gesture of sympathy to both the stranded citizens and the United States as a whole, the Queen ordered her guards to play America’s national anthem. This was a stunning event because it went directly against royal tradition, however it was extremely appropriate and we Americans are ever grateful for our continued allegiance and friendship with the British.

Edit: this was the day after the attacks on the WTC

Terry Garrett, a completely blind 23 year old mechanical engineering student from Colorado Springs, has figured out how to play through and beat Abe's Exoddus, multiple times.

Using a solid stereo sound system, save-anywhere and the occasional helpful description from his brother, Terry figured out the entire game relying upon the game's sound design as a descriptive tool to navigate the game world. After learning how it all worked, and playing the game through a few times over, he plays the game near-flawlessly. This is an interview with him, and some of his gameplay footage.

Blatantly stolen from the Youtube description
A Frenchman has set a new world record for the longest jump on rollerblades after carrying out the stunt in front of thousands of spectators.
Taig Khris, 35, launched himself off a 150-metre long ramp at Paris' Sacre Coeur Basilica (Sacred Heart) monument and achieved a distance of 29 metres.
After an initial jump of 28.4 metres, Khris had already broken the previous world record of 24 metres, set by American Danny Way.
Spurred on by the large crowd that had gathered to see him, the adrenalin junkie rolled down the custom-made launch pad.And he managed to narrowly improve his first leap before safely landing on an inflatable cushion.
Last May, Khris achieved a world record by performing the highest jump off the first floor of France's iconic Eiffel Tower.

He lands it... Kind of... :dopey:

There are some seriously stupid and/or lucky people in that.
I have never understood the need to race a train to a level crossing. Especially the European passenger trains that are past in half a second.

Yeah, those people who are stupid enough to try and beat a train deserve to be hit. WTF is wrong with just waiting a couple of minutes at the most?
