He has looked at the bigger picture, like me and my dad have been saying, playing alongside shearer is good for him, Shearer retiring at the end of this season, Owen will be a God in the north-east, the fans are all gonna love him, he knows that when Shearer finishes he is the Numero 1 striker there. i wouldnt be suprised if he got the Number 9 shirt when Shearers gone.

Shearer will then become manager and we will dominate:D

The bigger picture is no champions league and no trophies. Yes he'll be good at Newcastle, he'll be one of the most important players if not the most important when Shearer retires but he's still missing out on winning trophies and getting into Europe, let a lone the Champions league.

What was his other option? Sit on the bench at Real? How many trophies did he win during his stay in Spain? Liverpool had every chance to sign him but they let him go last year so weren't going to fork out twice as much as the sold him for.

Still think we'll be rubbish this season though. :grumpy:

No, go to another club. Anyhow he's signed for Newcastle and I whish him the best of luck there along with Newcastle, I don't see them doing much for a while though. Liverpool couldn't have really taken him back, they sold him for 8 million last year, how do you explain paying 15 million a year later for the same player, thats a 7 million loss for nothing.

Well me and my dad were saying, when Shearer finished, Luque could go up front with Owen and then put N'Zogbia on the left.

You need to sell Jenas, somehow he's worth aroung 8-9 million, I certainly don't know how since he's lacking in Football talent. Anyway, with 8-9 million you coul buy a decent midfielder to supply Owen and Luque and have change for a good defender too. Jenas is a cash pot, nothing more, he's no good at the sport so you should sell him before everyone realises.

If there wasn't a world cup at the end of the season he would not have moved from Real. He had one season at real, it's not like he's been there for that long and they are a team in transistion. It's just unlucky that at the moment Newcastle are the only team who desparately needed a striker.

You know what team would have benifited most from a 20 goal a season striker? Arsenal, just imagine henry providing for Owen. Against us they fielded henry as a single striker and pires behind him out of position. That just shows you need a new striker if you play like that against your main opposition.

Owen is just going to become Alan Shearer version 2, which is a shame. Being a great player and then achiveing nothing.

How many central midfielders does spurs need anyway? Carrick, Jenas, Davids, Brown, Taino, Mendes? etc

For some reason Everton are eyeing up robbie keane.

I was in the pub and they were introducing Micheal Owen infront of a massive crowd, like they'd won the FA cup or something.

I dunno, I think they are going to hype him up too much.

I mean he shouldn't do too badly, Emre, Parker, Dyer, Solano, N'Zogbia, Bowyer, Luque etc You haven't got too bad a squad now.

I think you should sell Amiobi though, god he is like a more useless version of Drogba.

Yeah that's all hype, it's not like he's a regular 20 a season player is he. I mean his record for Real was terrible, 13 or so goals from the bench. Bah.

Shocking, most of his appearances being as a sub and scoring what, 23 or therabouts goals for the season. Nope, thats nothing.

Damn Man City.

Well done Middlesborough! Come on Charlton, a 3-0 to get above Chelsea, you can do it!

[EDIT] Just found Charltons next match.. Chelsea :(

The Derby hurt us in the title race. I know it's still early but if we want to beat Chelsea we need to beat teams like City that want to play a 9 man defence, because plenty of teams that come to Old Trafford will use that tactic on us.

Oh no, I feel so much pity for ARSEnal.

Pity we don't play them while he's out.
