Looks like Gerrard is on his way to Madrid, and after Liverpool's perchase of Morientes.

**** them they just bought Gravesen, seriously **** them. I've got no respect for Real Madrid.

I don't see any reports of him going to madrid?

What a blow for Liverpool, so when is Gerrard planning on leaving liverpool, or is it just a speculation.

Why? 'Cos they're better than your team? Just because they're rich, probably the best team in the world (they've easily got the best squad, maybe not the best team) and every player wants to play for them? What player, who is of sound mind and body, is going to turn them down?

I love Real's philosophy. Buy the best player in the world, one every year. Zidane, Ronaldo, Beckham, Figo etc. Don't care about your defence. Buying Woodgate was an unusual step, as a midfielder like Gravesen is about as defensive a player that they usually buy. Your full-backs are the most attacking full-backs ever and play more like wingers. The bottom line seems to be, "We don't care how many you score, we'll score more." It doesn't always work, but I love it.

Thats why this season they were made to look incredibly ordinary by Barcalona. Same in the Champions league match against Leverkusen. Their manager doesn't even pick who to buy, that's how Michael Owen ended up there. Real Madrid don't buy players to win matches, they buy players to sell shirts. Look at Eto'o, who just mostly used to warm the bench at Real. He is now the top scorer in La Ligua since he joined with Barca. Also the bought Woodgate (Such a ****ing sicknote if I ever saw one, no wonder Newcastle got shot of him) but more importantly they bought Walter Samuel from Roma who is an awesome defender. They bought Gravsen, because they haven't had anyone to anchor the midfield for some time now, which has been their achillies heel since we bought Makalele off them (Cheers for that), I bet few people remember that Makalele was integral to Real Madrids recent Champions league form. Although yes they are one of the few teams to win the Champions league with lots of offensive flair. If you look at most of the other teams that have won it, they have relied on a solid defense if you look at Porto (When Carvalho was still with them) and AC Millan.

Hold on, i've kinda lost the plot with this.

Real Madrid, the best team in the world, thats a new one. They got the players ill admit that but they still dont manage to pull it quite together. I think Barcelona are much better IMO.

Yeah, to be honest they lived up to that a few years ago. But now, they need to rebuild their team.

I'm listening to the BBC Radio stream of the Chelsea Spurs game, they are giving us a hard time.

Ps.

Do my ears look big in this?

Oh dear Arsenal, 1-0 at half time ;) Are you going to stay just one point ahead of United by the end of the day.

It's too early for me to gloat just yet, but I think you need to sub that goalie of yours

I heard Arsenal got rid of Lehman on the radio this week. But I can't find anything about it on the net.

Listen to the match.

I think he has signed a 3 year contract, but has publicly criticised Wenger this week, so maybe he will be dropped. His stand in Almunia is having a nightmare of a game ...here comes the second half...come on Bolton

Personally I think Lehman is pretty good, I mean if he wasn't good I doubt Arsenal would have went on their 49 game unbeaten run.

Bolton are putting loads of pressure on Arsenal.

You've got to feel pleased for Bolton :D
It's the first time in ten years that they've beaten Arsenal...oh that and just to see the look on Wenger's face

Oh look replay, Pires missing an open goal :dunce:

Season over basically :indiff: Even if Manu and Arsenal beat Chelski in the return fixtures, they are still at least 4 points off the top.

Other observations this weekend: Wes Brown is a moron, Rooney would make a sailor blush, Lampard is awesome and Benitez showed desperation by flinging every striker he had on against ManU.

You know the worst thing, I didn't get to see any of the games not even the damn highlights. Although I listened to Chelsea - Spurs and Bolton - Arsenal on the radio. To be honest I recon we won a soft penalty and we did more defending than anything else. The second goal made it look like it was easy, although it wasn't,
