Haha yeah good point I remember watching that Lemans practice live on Speed TV, but somehow I had remembered wrong as a Porsche that had flipped, of course it was the CLK and with Mark Webber no less, I guess that's where he got his flying experience for F1.

I tried this car on the Nordschleife Flugplatz jump to see if I could reproduce that video and I guess the downforce is working great now because this car never left the ground at 170mph on the crest, where at the same crest I can get a few feet of air on my RUF Yellowbird :-)

Havent really been driving them at all. Need to stop playing COD with my friends and get my priorities straight.
 
Storm the Pennzoil Zexel GTR '01 went through.This is a donation to this wonderful thread :)

Also did a couple of quick laps with a Jaguar---XJR-9 fully restored and moded,close to 1000 HP,at the DeepForest and only managed 1:03.xx.Fast car but doesn't like to turn at high speeds like other LMs.Just my opinion,thought I'd share.Cheers!
 
The FTO Super Touring Car... in green... is in my UCD at the moment. It's a cool million to buy, and I have 188,000 in the bank... time to get a little creative to be able to buy it before it disappears forever! :D lol

Edit: sold some cars and ran a race, so the FTO is now mine :)

I'll send it to your Mix... account, Storm, but I'm thinking I may want it back when you're done... just seems too rare to give away :D lol

cheers. thats exactly what i thought of it too. the steering response wasnt as good. Was planning on loosening up that suspension to see if it helps.

Do you have a list (or know where I can find one) of the categories for the cars? I'd like to add it to my matrix file. I'm talking about the JGTC, Rally, LM, etc designations. For example, I know many people are looking for all the JGTC cars, so it would be handy to have it in my list.

And is there a reason you are collecting the FTO's? You just really like that one? :D lol
 
The only list I'm aware of is that "mygranturismo" site. I think he's got all the cars listed and sortable by any category.

I used to own a fto gpx until quite recently. really liked that car. Makes it all the more special for me. I wish they had a premium one in there. There are others cars in the game I've owned too, but they just don't perform as well. Personal pref I guess. :)

Hi all. Can I just concur with the others stating what a good read this is, really a big help. At the minute I have 4mil cr and am wondering what a good car to buy would be. I have my eye on these on both UCD and the Online dealership-

Nissan Pennozil Nismo GTR 99'

Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car 98'

Have seen a couple mentioned on here but not gone into specifics. I just dont want to waste my money on garbage, and considering R390 is a few million, I want to get a good car or cars!

Get the clk and the r390. Both kick ass cars

I haven't tried the penzoil yet. Woodwone is nice and the fastest jgtc I've tested. Handles a little tough when fully modded.
 
Did some quick laps with the Nissan R92CP at the DeepForest today, the car as usual fully moded,racing softs.After a couple of tries and some light tuning i managed 1:01,340.The car seemed slow to accelerate (the feeling mind you,cause otherwise it's really fast) and as with the Jag didn't like turning at high speeds.Also was prone to spin out at corner exits.I have to agree with Storm that the Nissan R89C RC'89 would win in a race between them due to better behavior,at least in my hands.Cheers!

But seems like the majority of people on one of the 89 vs 92 thread agree the R92 is better. Doesnt agree with me though. Interestingly, i learnt the 89 gains about 100Hp from the turbo mod and the 92 gains just 20 to 30.

In stock form the 92 has much more Hp vs the 89 (gotta check up on that) so it is a faster car when both are unmodded.

And that must be the reason :) I think most people like the stock version of most racing cars...

Just another quick question. I just did the race on Facebook to retrieve a code for a new Jag. Well I got the code and typed it in on the redeem bit on the PSN store, but I cant see how I actually get the car!!! I have looked on the game and no car has been delivered! hope I aint cocked it up and wasted a code:ouch:

stormbringer, on a scale of 1-10, what would you rate yourself as a driver ? I used some of the same cars as you in the deep forest time trials and was about 1 second behind your times.

I guess my question is, if you are a 10, am I an 8 ?

oh i dont know man, can drive decent, get a few good laps here and there.
I get my ass kicked pretty often online.

1 second isnt much, you should be able to beat my lap times easily with a few more laps.
 
Storm, Thanks for the GTR. I just picked up a Yellow FTO ST. I'll send that over sometime this weekend after I send Garbuckle the 3 I promised.
