The best record with controller (SixAxis/DH3)

As a long time GT fan, I've always enjoyed GT series with Logitech wheel.

Currently, I'm away from home. And I'm stuck playing GT5:TT with a controller.
This is actually my first time playing GT with a controller. And.. damn.. it's not easy.

Anyway, I've skimmed through online learderboard (Asia) and found out that the best lap time (the latest) with a controller was achieved by gt500hk. A Chinese guy.
1'49.406 Normal
1'36.997 Tuned
3'26.403 Total

Watched his replay. Damn impressive..

Do you see anyone faster with a controller in your region (Europe, NA) ?

I'm using six-axis. TC: Tuned - off. Normal - MANDATORY 7. Steering on left stick. Acc/Brake on right stick. Manual gears (L1/R1). Using 'bumper-cam'. My 'Normal' time is a fraction faster than that guy. My Tuned time is a fraction slower (although if I got all my best sectors in the one lap, I'd be 2 or 3 tenths faster).

My times:

Normal: 1'49.398
Tuned: 1'37.056
Total: 3'26.454

L2/R2 = brake / gas
X = shift up
[] = shift down

Left analog is what I use to steer. I overcome the uneven throttle my being veeeeerrrrrryyyyyy gentle.

well i think warrior2167 is the fastest, 1 place above joshmuggo; 1'48.452, 1'36.237,3'24.689.

he's 5th in Australia. last time i saw him using a controller.....

Tuned time of 1'38.664 and a combined time of 1'30ish. I don't know my normal time, but its 1'51.7ish.

I havn't played it since Thursday, the above times are product of around an hour and a half racing. I can definetly improve, just been pretty busy lately. My normal time is particularly rubbish, i only had about 3-4 laps in that.

I use left analogue stick for steering, X and square for throttle/brakes and L1/R1 for shifting.

Well I've done all my lap times with a pad, never used a wheel. Wish I had one. Anyway here are my lap times, they're not particularly fast but they are my best efforts to date.
Normal car; 1:51.2
Tuned car; 1:38.2

P.S How do you check leaderboards for lap times with the pad?

Wow, there are some good times lurking up there!

My Times so far with the Pad are:

Tuned: 1'37.168 (MT / TCS 0 / Racing Line Off / Bumper Cam)
Normal: 1'49.500 (MT / TCS 7 / Racing Line Off / Bumper Cam)
Total: 3'26.668

I think that given a couple more hours, I could probably shave at least another 0.4s off of my tuned time, and 0.6 off of my normal. I doubt I will be getting too close to joshmuggo and warrior2167 any time soon though, I think a 3:24:xxx overall with a pad is probably completely out of the question for me!

You have to click on someone's name. And then it will come up with their settings just like in GT5P, except now it also says if they have used a wheel or controller.

Dont know if anybody has seen it but a guy who was 240 something in the UK rankings earlier today got a 1'37.757 with a control using the directional buttons! That is crazy!?

guy i want honest opinion please i'v just done 137.877 with sixaxis, traction 7, an auto box do you think this is half decent or not very good? im 312 uk but want to be back on leader board 250 will do just fine lol. any tips greatfully recieved.

Thats definitely not bad, but i would suggest you to switch off the TCS and learn to drive with manual transmission. Looks like youre a good driver and this could make your times even better.

If you're using 5 like I think you said you are, you're probably holding yourself back. But maybe not. I may put TCS on 3 and see what happens.

I'm using seven? just had a go with six, think it seems better but need to adjust myself to it.
