I'm using seven? just had a go with six, think it seems better but need to adjust myself to it.

For the tuned, put TCS on 0 and see how fast you go. If you don't like it, put it to 3. You want more power! Push the car to its limits because this is a hot lap time trial.đź‘Ť

Thanks for feedback what you reckon manual gears will return in time, maybe
0.2 seconds or more? going to give manual a damn good go, again thanks.

That depends on you, i cant drive anymore with automatic, its around 1.5-2 seconds for me i guess. But thats just me.

I know i can do better.. I will i will! I'm just lacking the most important racing sense.. FEEL! I wish to be able to prevent oversteer not just correct it. Racing on the edge with a controller is hard! man i want a wheel. I see there are faster people with pads though, must feel great to string together all your best corners. I need to put more time in i think, not even had a go with standard Z yet!

These are my times right now:

1'48.665 1'36.547 3'25.212

I want to break the 24 mark today đź‘Ť

ok, what the heck. ive stopped plating gt5 demo last few days but here are my control setup and lap times.

x-accelerate
square-brake
left analogue stick-left/right

times:
1.37.16x 1.49.373

3.26.53x

you really do need a wheel to be top 20 though, if you dont want to pull your hair out because of yoursef ruining laps because the controller isnt accurate enough.

My Record (GTP_TrievelA7X)
1'37.614
1'49.194
3'26.808

Only ran the normal tonight, started out running constant 1:50's, now running constant 1:49's, got up to 35th in US with the normal car, shoved back to 188th for now on the tuned.

You guys are very fast.

My laptimes are:

Normal - 1'50.859

Tuned - 1'39.204

I'm using directional buttons for steering and X [] for gas and break.

Is there any chance for a patch enabling TCS change for normal car ?

Much room to improve, at least with the tuned. The normal car is a biotch.

how many people then who don't use the wheel use the L2 and R2 buttons as throttle and brake i use the x button i don't know why and my combined time is 3:29:something

Tuned: 137.306
Normal: 149.282
Total: 326.558

Manual using left stick for steering and right stick for throttle. Biggest obstacles for finding more time is Turn 7 and the stupid TC with the Normal car.

I first used X as gas and L2 as brake. Then I changed brake to L1. Now I use manual and use L2 as brake and R2 as gas. X shifts up and [] shifts down.

Edit: outlaw4rc, I have gas and brake set for R3 too....but I use right as gas and left as brake. I don't use it though during my laps...but it is available if I got bored of the triggers.

Right and left on R3? I don't think my thumbs can do that!

The reason I don't use the buttons for steering/throttle/brakes is because it requires a constant force. This can lead to repetitive strain injury if you play a lot. This is especially important with throttle, as you'll spend more than 50% on throttle per lap, and similarly for steering.

I use the analogue sticks because they are very light and don't provide much resistance.

I've only driven the tuned Z.

Steering: D-pad
Accel/brake: R2/L2
Tranny: Auto (for now)

1'38.3 in the tuned Z. I am going to try manual tranny with the X and square later.

With 6-axis, manual(L2,R2), T/C: off, steering: left stick, acc. / brake: X / square buttons.
Normal: 1'53.142
Tuned: 1'39.625

Total: 3'32.767

I'm using R2 and L2 and the d-pad for steering. So far my times are:
1:50.9 (manual)
1:38.2 (automatic, TC 8)

But I feel I'm hiting my limit. Some of those limits could be broken by using the analog stick, and less TC. But the problem is that I can't use the analog stick for racing games. Also I don't really know how standard transmission could help me with the tuned car because I have no idea how to improve the gear selection. I'm using a high TC because it cuts the oversteer and allows me to accelerate earlier. So I'd really appreciate some tips on how I could improve on those things, because I really believe I can do a better job.

Just so y'all know, TCS does not change. If you don't believe me set yours to 10 and then go do some donuts :D Like some of you said the normal car is set at 7 and cannot be changed but you can still smoke the tires for as long as you want đź‘Ž

Edit: I'd love to see a chart of the top controller users, but that's probably asking too much!:scared:
