Alright, I'm 134th in the world with a pad, and a very close 5th in the USA.

It's a damn shame I can't play more, a damn shame. (shaking head sadly)

I've never used a wheel on the GT series. I love the controller to much.

And R1600, youre still the fastest US pad user. *admiration*

According to this...

....I'm still second fastest pad user in the USA!

*crickets*

:dunce:

Actually, my tuned time was a magic lap for me since right now, I can't go lower than a 1.37.100 so realistically, I should be the 3rd fastest pad user in the US behind DrTwinkie but ahead of GTPorsche.

I'm going to give it one last try tomorrow night to gain a few spots. Want to try and stay in the top 30.

Ugh, it's going to be near impossible to creep into the top 200 pad users overall with times like those. :grumpy:
Well, don't beat yourself up. You may have hit your ceiling, that's all. I'm pretty sure I have because the times I posted around Christmas are pretty much the times I usually run now (tuned was a miracle lap so it doesn't count). It's not like I haven't tried to do better since but with only R1600 as a realistic bar to aim for, I've only improved in running more consistently.

Then again, it could just be one section of the track that you're struggling at. If you're using myself and R1600 as the bar, are you losing time to our ghosts incrementally or are there sections where we pull away quickly?

Good luck! I hope you find some extra speed so that I can upload your ghost and find it too!

I am inside of both Ghosts until Turn 3 which isn't even a difficult turn, I can't see where the speed is coming from but I know it is something I am doing on Turn 2. Then after turn 5 on the straight to the hairpin both of you take off again and by the time I get to Turn 6 you are a little over half the hairpin length away from me.

Update:

8 it loris87 [pad] 1'36.078 1'48.145 3'24.223

Again the Italian wizard guy steering with directional buttons! Ah!

Now he's 24th in Italy, bet he's gonna get into the top 20...

I just hope they'll give him a G27 as a special prize, he'll go slower for sure.

I'm 29th in the Global Rankings, hey!

Actually now he's 20th, new faster lap with the stock car but he used a wheel... How strange. As a result now he's disappeared from the pad users rankings.

My guess is that you're late on the throttle coming off of T2. You want to be in a good position exiting T1 so that you can really crank that nub left while applying a little bit of throttle and then full throttle ASAP. It feels counter-intuitive to crank the nub farther left or right than what the corner is asking for but when I used to crank it just enough to get around the corner, I was probably at least a second slower than I am now.

As for T5, I'm guessing either you're lifting off throttle there (you don't have to :)) or you're struggling at T4 exit. T4 is a corner that requires a lot of practice trying to carry a fair amount of speed at entry, easing the Z down towards the apex (i.e. very little braking or simply off throttle) increase steering input at the apex, and then full throttle while turning as little as necessary to aim for the corner exit. I certainly don't find T4 easy at all and in fact, I haven't been able to get ahead of my ghost at all at T6 because I absolutely nailed T4 on that day.

Edit: Just noticed that T4 is more manageable if I stay in 4th until I approach the apex.
