#122 SrRd_RacinG (U.S.) (DualShock 3)

Edit: I'd love to see a chart of the top controller users, but that's probably asking too much!:scared:

Me too !!

Hi, Canadian here!

I'm using a controller too...there's just no good place to attach my wheel to. Anyways my times are:

Tuned: 1'38.84 (No TCS)

I don't play the normal car cause I find the TCS annoying =S.

My button config is the same layout that I use for Forza 3. L2-Brake, R2-Gas, []-Shift Down, O-Shift Up. Left Stick Steering. =]

Me too. I know I'm #1 in the USA, but would like to see where we all rank in the world.

I saw you on prologue the other day and I can not keep up with you at all! Did you get your wheel yet and if so which one did you choose? I bought a DFP two years ago and until it breaks I probably won't upgrade.

Yeah, currently using a DFGT. Been playing a lot of Prologue lately. Fun times to be had with the wheel there.

Nope. Get within a second or so and can't seem to go any faster without spinning out.

Hmmm. I've been thinking about getting a DFGT, but I don't know. It'd probably take a while to be better with a wheel because I've used a controller ever since GT1.

I'd get the wheel. You may not be as fast at first, but it's so much more fun as long as it's set up properly. I'm having a blast with Prologue, so hopefully the "Standard" physics option or something in GT5 will be similar. Because I love the way the cars handle with Pro physics in Prologue.

YESSSSSSS!!!!

i hope i can be up there with the top controller users, i just got a 1.48.995!!!!!

the sense of happiness and relief was phenomenal!!!!

this reduces my time to a 3.26.1!!!!

What are your times again R1600 turbo????

there are some freaks in Australia that are in the mid 36's and low 48's with the controller....i don't know how they are that quick.

What do you think of the physics in the demo TT as opposed to GT5P with the wheel? After playing the demo TT I went back to GT5P and it was like playing on standard to me.

I don't mind the physics in the demo as long as I can go at my own pace. When I can just drive the car and turn a few laps and enjoy the car for what it is. But with a "contest" going where you are almost forced to improve your lap times, you can only push those cars so hard. (for me at least) Then it starts getting frustrating.

I do agree the Prologue physics seem easier between the two, but I do prefer them over the new demo. Now, a simple thing like a good suspension tune on the cars in the demo could drastically change how they handle, so I'm not giving up on the full game.

The suspension is loose and the brake balance is horrible. Those two changes would make the cars feel great.

As for the wheel, depends on how precise you can be with the controller. I know i can't. I've played GT since 1998 with the dualshock, and then i got myself a G25 when i had the chance to visit the United States, in the end of 2007. To me the difference in prologue is about 1,5 seconds faster with the wheel.

But since i don't have a permanemt home at the moment, i can only use the wheel during holidays and stuff (when i'm at my parents house).

To keep it short: the wheel is worth every penny. It takes some time to get used to, but it will make you a faster driver.

I'm compiling a list of the top controller driver for each country right now. I'll post it up here when I'm finished.

By that logic, with my 3'28.9 time i should be what, rank 15? ;)

Hehe no i bet closer to 1500. Its amazing how fast some guys are with the pad.

If anyone knows the fastest controller driver in your specific country and they are not listed, let me know via PM. It take a bit of time for me to search through each country to find these guys.

Just noting a correction to your post.

36 (FR) raikko68 1'36.201 1'48.566 3'24.767 (controller)

That's an amazing performance from the warrior2167 :)

I got three questions (they're pretty "nooby"):
1. How do you turn Six-Axis on?
2. Is manual faster or Automatic?
3.Can you turn the "auto-throttle" feature off? Whenever I accelerate in a turn, i see it doesn't go full throttle.

Tried the tuned car against yesterday and knocked it down to 1:37.202 (after 100 laps!) which was only a .100 improvement over my old time.

Gave it another go today and on my 7th lap, out of nowhere I got a 1.36.777, over a .400 improvement! Honestly, I don't think I can pull that off again as I felt I nailed every corner and I was averaging mid-high 1.37's before that lap. I think it's safe to say I won't be trying to beat R1600's time and sacrifice sleep and my sanity!

Also gave the normal car another go and realized why I stopped trying, the stupid mandatory traction control. 👎

I'm just hoping to be in the Top 100 in the US by the end of the contest. :)

As of 01/04/2010

Tuned: 1.36.777
Normal: 1.49.282
Total: 3.26.059
48th in US

Wow those guys have pretty impressive results here! :)

Here's my result w/ my DS3 :
Tuned (TCS 0/AT) 1'37.779
Normal (AT) 1'50.138
Total 3'27.917

I use X for acceleration/Square for brake/D-Pad for steering

56th in Asia so far. I think I'm right behind gt500hk if exclude the wheel drivers.

Good work.

Mine are:

Tuned Z- 137'479

Stock Z- 150'.050

Total- 3'27.529

Good for #142 so far.

I've dropped into the 20's overall in the USA now. Still the fastest fingers though. :)
Last I checked, I'm second fastest tuned and third fastest normal in the USA. Is there a prize for second/third best fingers?

Gave the normal car another go today and realized:

1. What a pain to set up the car for T4. Keep the car stable (i.e. not drifting) between T3-4 to begin with, ease up throttle, brake, don't hit rumble strips, keep car's speed above 60ish, add throttle, hope I don't start mowing grass at turn exit...

2. I know what to do on T7 but the car wants to do something different every lap. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

3. How could I have driven T9-10 so poorly on that run?

4. Traction control is not my friend at T10. 2nd gear on T9-10 is...

5. Why is my ghost blasting away from like like it has nitrous after T11?

6. I think my chances of getting below 3.26.000 overall are not looking good right now.
