Sorry...
If anyone knows the fastest controller driver in your specific country and they are not listed, let me know via PM. It take a bit of time for me to search through each country to find these guys.
I'd say a half a second is feasible. I'd give manual a try and keep that car in 3rd for most of the corners.hey guys, first ever post on GTP. I've played GT way back since the first one, but only really got into shaving laptimes once this demo came along. Anyways, I'm at 3.27.220 using Sixaxis, auto, X as gas and Square as brake. I'm happy with my 1.37.305 (faster than Yamauchi-san ) but i'm sure I can shave at least half a second off my stock 1.49.913. May or may not be the fastest using this setup in NZ, who knows
I'm not going to finish the top controller times chart. Just noticed that the global leader board has a section for the top controller users in the world.
Finally had a chance today to attack the normal car again today. After a couple of laps, I finally was getting good results with T7 so that only meant the dreaded T11. After a couple of close misses, I had a good run going heading into T11 and through my head, I told myself...
Line up car left, brake to 70, turn hard, add 20-30 throttle through corner until car starts leaving rumble strips, 100% throttle, pray, and...
1.49.046! Beat my old time by .236 seconds! HOORAY!!!
Well, that's all I can give. Any more and I'll have to buy a new controller.

Tuned: 1.36.777
Normal: 1.49.046
Total: 3.25.823
54th in US as of 01/15/10
Just checked it...Where having almost the exact same times, check the leaderboards on GTDB/PAD

So, where on the track did you find the extra .053 seconds?
I just wanted to congratulate all the pad users putting good times on the board. It just goes to show if you really put the effort in it can be done. Keep up the great work and prove those gooses in the " No Wheel Dont bother thread" wrong. I personally use a wheel, but im always mesmerised when i see fast times set on a 6-axis. 👍
Try it with TCS 1. I'm potentially faster without TCS but at 1, I am more consistent with my times (down to low 1.37s).I use a sixaxis and I'm mesmerized
I always slide out of T6 if I have TCS off but with TCS @ 5 I lose speed on the straight-away. I'm confused.

Here's the way I attack the track:
T1 - Brake and shift down quickly to 3rd gear and get as close to tire barriers as possible at around 60 mph. Keep car right to set up for T2.
T2 - Start turning at where the rumble strips on the left start. Vary throttle until full throttle can be applied.
T3 - Full throttle and aim far left for T4.
T4 - When track straightens out, medium brake while steering hard to the right and aim for rumble strips. I sometimes ease up before the turning point and brake lightly so that I can hit the apex better. Full throttle at around halfway through the rumble strips. Speed shouldn't dip below 65 mph.
T5 - Full throttle
T6 - Start braking after going under shadow of banner and enter halfway up the track around skid marks. It's possible to brake late and carry extra speed but it's tricky to do without drifting way off line. Aim far left at exit to set up for T7.
T7 - Steer heavy right but steer very lightly at corner apex. Hence, exiting T6 properly helps a lot. It's better to sacrifice some speed at entry in order to go full throttle as early as possible. Keep speed higher than 55 mph.
T8 - Brake and turn at around 60 mph.
T9-T10 - I find it easier to keep the car in 3rd gear all the way to avoid wheel spin. I tend to do a late apex turn for both corners but the most important thing is to keep the speed up on the car.
T11 - It's actually doable to not brake for this corner at all. Lift off throttle completely and turn heavy left. Add full throttle near the end of the rumble strips and head for the finish line.
T2- The main problem with the throttle that I seem to be having is how to properly squeeze and feather it. With past GT games and with NFS: Shift I am used to tapping it, but it seems that doing this on GT5:TT will only end up in one spinning out.
Every 15 laps with me.I am slowly lowering my TCS back down with each set of laps I do (from 3 and now I am at a 1 with a better time).
I found your replay and have been watching it and following your ghost all day. Shaved a small amount (0.00.121) off doing so.
T1- This is pretty much what I already do except every 10 laps or so I will smash into the tires.
Are you using X for throttle? If so, you're handicapped since I use the right nub and R1600 uses the shoulder triggers, I believe.T2- The main problem with the throttle that I seem to be having is how to properly squeeze and feather it. I'm guessing you're either turning in too early or too slow. Touching the rumble strips isn't a bad thing but the grass is.T4- I usually cut as close to the apex as I can, almost as if I was touching the grass, maybe not the best way to do it.
Good. I actually think how I did T6 on my fastest lap is the best entry possible using a high entry method (enter hot and let the car roll through the corner while scrubbing off the excess speed).T6- I am getting better at this. I am taking it wide at first and then hitting the "late" apex so I can stay left to fly into T7.
Well, if this was a flying simulator...T7- ...I guess "fly" may have been a bad term.
I lift off the throttle and then apply 80-100% throttle at the latest after the rumble strips to the left are off-screen. Staying in 3rd gear avoids wheel spin and I usually let the car ease into the far right so that I don't need a lot of steering input.T10- I have more problems here now than any other corner. I can't tell if others are lightly holding their throttle or not holding it at all.
I heard about other pad players using 4th but to me, it makes the car steer like a dump truck. I got used to using 3rd, ever so slightly tap the brake and then yank the car left and nail the throttle exiting the rumble strips.T11- On Turn 11 I noticed that other controller players like R1600Turbo shift up to fourth and leave it there. I have always stayed in 3rd. Which do you prefer (I didn't get a chance to roll your replay again before I posted)?
If I'm going up high in T12, it's usually because it's a throwaway lap and I want to build up some speed. I've seen some with faster times go higher than the driving line but I've tried it and only lost time.T12/13- Something else I have noticed with you and Turbo's replays/ghosts is that you both go outside of the strips (and past the white line on the left) on T12 (*edit* I meant Turn 12 not 13 as I originally posted). Is this to help with time or is this something you had to do only on certain laps to reduce the tire squeal due to something that may have happened earlier in the lap?
Every 15 laps with me.

I tried switching to that setup starting with Prologue but never got the hang of it.No sir, right trigger 2, with left trigger 2 being the brakes.
I've seen the wheel drivers take a higher line between T12-13 and I've tried that with the pad and I've only lost time. My guess is that too much speed is scrubbed off going high, I guess.Yea, I tried it in comparison with other better ghosts of myself and I always lagged behind them when I went too high up. I do, however, gain about +2mph's across the line if I do this and then throw my car down towards the right where the grass sidewalk starts (the spot that the driving line takes you if it is on).
Ick! Can't stand that car with its mandatory traction control. Good luck because the fastest way with it is to avoid triggering it.Thanks again, this will hopefully help. Now I need to work on the red one
That's what I gathered testing it out. I guess having the car push right into the grass and having to restart is why I stick with 3rd gear. It is an adventure at exit, though.I used 4th because it allowed me to get the car pointed in the right direction and I could give it full throttle coming out of the corner. Leaving it in third does help the car turn, but it's harder to keep the back end in line.
I tried switching to that setup starting with Prologue but never got the hang of it.
The thing is that I always try to minimize the time I'm completely off throttle. Because of the throttle distribution issue with the pad, I also have to really play with the throttle, almost like a pumping motion. If you've seen my replays, that's why my throttle bar's all over the place. .

R1600Turbo: That higher line I was asking about in my initial post, between Turn 12 & 13, past the strips; does that shave seconds off of your lap time or do you do it for some other reason? I noticed you went way up their almost near the wall in your fastest lap replay, as did another person, and was wondering if that is a better line to take and if so, why?
The pumping motion is a habit I only started with Prologue. I hope they make the throttle distribution linear again so that I can go back to applying constant throttle through corners rather than variable throttle.Yea, the pumping you do, that is what I meant by "tapping it". I can't feather the throttle softly too well so I just take little quick stabs at it around a corner and so far I haven't really spun out unless I do it too hard and quick at the exit. But I think spinning out would be pretty standard if someone was to do this even in a real car.
Remember that the traction control is locked and the driving physics are locked in Professional in the demo. It will likely be free control over traction control and standard driving physics as the default in the actual game...Ha, I agree. I am not a huge fan of playing with the stock car. I guess I should probably get used to it though, that way I am ready for all of the early preliminary races and licenses' on GT5 whenever it does come out.
Yet, when I do it, I lose too much time going up all the way high (compared to my ghost) and I still hit 154 mph at the line even with the wider entry to avoid scrubbing off speed. I must be doing something wrong.I just do it so I can get a bigger arch through the corner, effectively straightening the corner out so it doesn't scrub off a bunch of speed. 👍
On a side note, I loaded up your ghost yesterday to see if there's anywhere on the track I can improve on. Looks like it's my driving style that's holding me back. Compared to your driving style, I drive like a absolute maniac.
I'm stuck into 2nd place in Italy behind this guy:
loris87 [pad] 1'36.142 1'48.576 3'24.718
How the b**** can do those times steering with DIRECTIONAL BUTTONS is beyond me...
