The Best/Worst Badge in the Business (Literally)

Anyone's logo that's just their name is the worst. They should have some creativity.

As for good ones:

American car company badges have been crap in the past couple of decades. Chevy, Ford, Chrysler, and their subdivisions are all lacking any sort of "flare" to them.

Fords new one actually looks pretty good. The one you posted is rather old and outdated.

Ford is literally just a blue oval with fancy text.
True, but that's partly why I like it. Simple.

I wish I could find a picture of the new one. They use it in their YouTube videos and TV commercials but haven't seen it anywhere else yet. It's kinda like the one they used in the '80s but with the outer silver edge inverted.

My take on Oldsmobile

Worst:

So many good ones, but unfortunately THIS is the one most will remember until death. Why does it look like the 'Peace' sign got shoehorned into a rectangle?

Best:

I'm fond of this one. I don't think the last one was bad either, and the rectangles were OK, but only as long as it had a rocket.

I've always liked the old De Tomaso badge/logo

Also Cizeta (Moroder)

Pinifarina is also nice

Gordon Keeble is endearing

Also partial to Subaru as it represents the Pleiades star constellation (though more commonly seen as seven stars or the "seven sisters" in the west, I believe).

The worst, which I won't paste in, for me are Mazda (too simple/boring), Chevrolet (meant to be iconic but too simple/plain again) and late TVR (just terribly dated looking and badly thought out, much as I love the cars)

Random fact: Subaru is what the Japanese call the Pleiades.

This?

Nope that's the old one from about 20 years ago. The new one is like that but the silver outlining is inverted.

Which Lister logo do you like better?
First is OK, but I wouldn't have known they were swords.
Second is my pick.
Third is a simplification of the second, and an unnecessary one at that.

Other good logos:
Qvale

Intermeccanica

The worst:
GMC

Qvale: OK, a bit on the bland side, and would be if it wasn't a dragon head.

Intermeccanica: I have to ask when it was made, because it looks like they took ideas from Lambo and Ferrari.

GMC: Yeah, I can agree with that

Lotus and Alfa Romeo are, IMO, the best, with emphasis on Alfa Romeo's for the design. Both of them got that football club flavour which I like so much.

The added depth serves to make it a little more imaginative than the similarly bland Daewoo badge at least.

Great Wall have had worse badges, as I've just discovered:

Which is almost on par with the ZX Auto logo:
