The Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, Season 2! Thanks everyone!

please explain for the newbie?

Well, the realism hits you like a ton of bricks. I find it easier, because its more realistic. If you don't have a wheel, forget it.

If you have a wheel, get it. Make sure you have some money lying around first. Expensive. But worth it.

DFGT is enough as you can enable the auto clutch meaning you don't need one :).

This is true. I just did a race. I raced a guy for the whole 25 minutes (proto and GT fixed) and we were weaving through GT traffic in a draft on the back straight at Watkins Glen! Soooo fun!

Fixed setup races sound perfect, my mate is trying to setup a V8 supercar and has no clue how to. I told him to stick to fixed setup cars until he can get a vet to give advice :P.

what all can you do in and with iracing? how much customization etc

Anything. You can make your own paint schemes, with anything on them!

(I saw a guy with a sex toy scheme xD)

Suspension, aero and everything can be adjusted too :)

Yeah you can adjust really minor aspects of the car, can get rather anal ;). Btw anyone notice Pure got mentioned in the news, makes me so proud to have helped and been a part of it :D.

power? Weight? or is that fixed?

Fixed, but you can adjust it in hosted races.

Just had a GREAT race at Suzuka in the HPD. Neither me (4th) or the other guy (3rd) knew it was going to be the last lap... he messed up the last chicane, I overtake into T1. I get held up by a Corvette and he sneaks by. He messes up the chicane, I get right besides him. We go side by side into that double apex down hill monster. I let him have it because he was a hair ahead. I get a KILLER run out into 130R. I was too close and didn't want to rear end the guy, so I lift a little. He gets just a bit too far out. Then I get him on braking into the last chicane, but I don't go down to 1st gear... I took it in second :ouch: I didn't get the acceleration I needed, and we drag race to the finish! He gets me by a half a car!

The best last lap I've had on iRacing!!!!!

hmmm...maybe i'll try it for one month some time. would it keep my info/profile info if i did one month and then paid for another month much later down the road?

Yep :) you'll just "recharge" your account!

If you go too inside sim racing TV they always have a deal of some kind for iracing I believe right now they have a $5 for first month deal ,good way too give it a try.

You have a link to that?

Also does racing automatically charge you or do you have to put money in manually?

They have two deals right now one for 25% off a one year member ship and one for $5 for the first month just refresh the page too get the one you want

Wow, wasn't even aware of this series. If I can, I'd like to advise two slight cosmetic suggestions based on the real series:

Having looked hard at the Stevenson Motorsports team, I think the Camaros should have rear spoilers:

Likewise after watching the Doran team several times, I also think the 370Z should have its small wing (Option A from GT Auto).

Again, just some suggestions. Not exactly free enough to participate in this, but definately intent on watching it 👍

Sorry it took so long to respond- but we looked into aero, and it didn't work, while looking real.

Only 1/4 if the cars have their real aero in the game, so giving it to that 1/4 gives them an unfair advantage.

Ok, I see. Other then that, this looks great.

Number of laps are usually decided by polar in the lobby, I'm guessing 20-30. I could be wrong though.

Really looking forward to tonights race, hopefully my Golf won't have any mechanical issue.

By mechanical issue I mean disconnection.

So 22+1? Sounds a decent distance for once :P.
