I agree with you, black friday or january sale will be the way to go for this and codies next rally game. Plus there's the advantage of the game getting tuned up with a few fixes in the meantime. Its not like GT in terms of car collecting as they tend drive very similar within each vehicle class, a game to dip into rather than grind.
I find the cars to have fairly big differences for Motorfest, muscle cars feels heavier compared to the NA MX5 in the same class. Jesko and Chiron handles quite differently when I tested it in the beta. The handling seem to feel a bit like FH5 but a lot more to the arcade side since the car lost grip a lot easier and drifts are easier to control. Surely not GT level of differences but at least it isnt identical feeling like back in TC2.

Collecting cars will probably going to still take a lot of time to grind, will probably wait a sale to get the Gold edition to skip grind for the bunch of cars in the Year 1 Pass but I'm still quite tempted to just grab it on day 1. Kinda want something new to play with, I'm really bored with FH5 at this point and NFS Speed Pass is nearly done.

Yeah its a big improvement I agree, just lacking the nuance of GT or project cars. I spent a lot of time giving feedback on discord re: handling during the last 2 beta's, and im hopeful the main release will have integrated some improvements. Some vehicles in beta had epic levels of understeer lol. I only picked up the crew 2 recently best £4 I spent (im such a cheapskate lol) really enjoyed it despite its limitations, the 60fps patch was a game changer.

I think the only FOMO content will just be the special edition cars and cosmetics, new cars should just be added into the game and buyable in the shop like in TC2.

I probably will get it at its first sale, I doubt I'm good enough to compete in the leaderboards for the special edition cars anyway. I never get a single platinum rank in TC2 summit too.
to even compete for a platinum summit in TC2, you needed the legendary part sets that doubled your nitro and point scores.

I have none of those in either platform as well but the cars are mostly just variants, so I don't really mind skipping them in Motorfest. They seem quite restricted with visual customisation too, the special edition from stories and motor pass in TC2 and the few I got during Motorfest beta has visual customisation locked.

As long the brand new cars are released into the shop like in TC2, I'm happy. Just hate games doing time limited unlocks for unique content.

Just wondering, is there long events in the game? I'm not really a fan of 2-3 minutes races like a lot of the default races in TC2. Hmm, I'm starting to debate whether I should wait for a track editor.

Not sure for now but when the early access for Gold and Ultimate edition starts we probably will know all the events available in the 15 playlist so far.

I hope there will be long races. Since it is a smaller map now, an island loop race will be fun.

For those who have three days early access can't they play from tomorrow?

One thing that was a little disappointing for me was that the Supra Ryujin Edition's livery cannot be edited.
I like this Supra rear end, but the default livery with the little dragon on the side looks like a poor NFSU copycat games from the 2000s.
