The Crew: Wild Run Edition

I received Platinum in the November Summit and won the Lotus Evora, it's a nice full stock car to drive. It only has performance spec available though, would have been nice to have a Circuit spec option for it.

I loved the summit events, I placed 150th on the long jump event, which was my best. I also did pretty well on the drag event and managed to level up my Viper to 1258, maybe this new Smart loot system isn't so bad.

After getting into The Crew again, I've thought up of the ultimate evasion challenge: Escaping a five-star police chase in a fullstock Chevrolet Silverado. In the past, I've actually managed to escape a level-five police response in a fullstock Escalade, but I wonder if it's possible to make a getaway in a pickup truck...

After messing with the PCScalability file, I managed to get Wild Run to work. It still lags, but it's semi-playable. It'll have to do until Ragnos makes a new Low Spec patch... or I save money to get an Xbox ONE...

Anyway, after doing the trials of the different specs, Monster Truck and Drift are my favorites. I'm okay with Drag, but can't get the gears right because of how laggy the game plays.

In the meanwhile me, even in not a perfect run as you can see by the 2 penalties, 1 which actually was the car getting stuck in a wall and there I lost various seconds trying to figure out how could be possible to happen a such bug, I completed the "Highway Child" faction mission in less than 55 minutes :)

I spotted this for £9.99 pre-owned yesterday. Really tempted for that price
Have a punt at that price mate. You'll get 4-5 quid back for it if you don't like it

I found it ok up to a point but then the lure of FM6 and pCARS meant that I didn't play it anymore

Now for the Qualifier does it matter what medal you get? Since I think I got silver in the first one but I don't know if that's good enough to be in the final summit?

Edit: Doesn't matter as long as you are not unranked.

Edit 2: Been going back and doing missions to get Plat on them and some of them I was like totally confused on and yet a simple "left" turn instead of right made so much difference on one. Like really?

So I was just having some fun and I kinda got stuck a little too perfect.
Balanced where I cannot move and close enough to where on the road doesn't work.

Still on the fence. How's the graphics and framerate on the Xbox version after the latest update?

I hated the beta, but I'm still so drawn to the map.

I don't own it on xbox but i think you should wait until they come out with a patch to fix some things after that wild run update.

Woah, what a difference between how it is now and the beta that wildly disappointed me. It looks really quite pleasant now and the driving physics are like night and day from what I tried before.

Very happy with it so far.

I earned two medals in the qualifiers to get in to the monthly Summit, but I missed out on the Yosemite event because I didn't play TC for a few days (I blame Fallout). Too bad I missed that one, I am really having fun with these events. The next one is in monument valley which I definitely will not miss.

I also bought an Indian last night which is my new cruising bike, It's fun in full stock and street spec has some cool visual options, took it for a ride between St Louis and Detroit in full stock and I received an award/milestone for it.

I have just had the most weird occurrence while playing The Crew. I was out for a drive in Detroit with my new Golf GTI. I barreled past a police cruiser, typical stuff that won't usually get the police angry. I drive a short distance, then stop, and see the cop marked on the map as if he was in a pursuit. No-one is wanted, how odd. I see him racing towards me, lights and sirens blazing, and stop next to me. I wasn't in a chase, so I was not getting arrested, but the cop was parked next to me with his blues 'n' twos going. So I start driving, and he follows me. He sideswipes me, and THEN I get into a pursuit.

I just chalked it up to an overzealous cop thinking my Volkswagen Golf was a dirty diesel...

Would be so funny if that had been written into the game.

Are all the bikes part of the Wild Run only?

Sorry, I didn't twig I'd only just posted. My bad for the DP.

Only thing that I don't like is the random platinums that work after going left instead of right and the rain. Don't get started on the rain. Rain here rain there. Rain randomly in the desert. :/ Too much rain, Should give some to Cali.

I love the rain, especially in the dessert :) Though I don't think it really it has that much effect on the roads, I still have plenty of grip in the rain...

Yeah, you can buy the cars, but not the bikes. And you can't do the "extreme" upgrades (drag, monster truck, drift).

That part makes sense since the extreme specs are a part of the expansion. I think it's great that if someone didn't want to buy the expansion, they could just buy the RX7 for example and get the free physics update, graphical upgrade and dynamic weather; options are nice, especially when it comes to DLC.

Yeah, I bought a bunch of those new cars.

Just curious, are you using a wheel?

No, just the controller. I remember the handling feeling odd in the beta, but it's an enjoyable arcade experience now. I started with the Challenger after giving it the three lap test drive and the car behaves consistently, which is all I ask for in any game, sim or arcade.

Should get on tonight and see how the qualifier is doing. Probably going to try bumping up but not going to count on it, but as long as I medal then I can wait until the Summit.
